How much do you thin the BD liquid mask to apply it with the HPLV gun?
You don’t need to thin BittyDesign . Spray it straight from the bottle. Around 1.5mm tip at around 50 psi.
One more here requesting setup video
Nice car!
If I may ask what compressor are you using?
IM ABOUT TO PAINT A BODT BRILLIANT BLUE AND BRIGHT SILVER WHICH COLOR FIRST
Have you used spaz stix with airbrush? How do you remove the paint ?
How do you clean the spray gun from the liquid mask? Water?
I’d love to hear your method for masking good lines abs designs
You couldn't even put a link to the airbrush thing that's on amazon?
What happens if you don't cut them down?
Nice video… if you can recalls, can you tell me the size (spec) of the spray gun? Because the liquid mask is thick
Where can i get that liquid mask
Unfortunately Bob Dively liquid mask is no longer available 😔
Bob Diveley is as extinct as the Dodo Bird.
Will definitely be making the trip up from Beaverton Oregon to check this place out. Seems like RC heaven! Might have to bring multiple RCs and make a weekend of it.
Diehard RC park is actually in the city of Snohomish, in Washington State.
@@ianjhanson I know. Thats why I said I can't wait to make the trip up from Beaverton Oregon (south of Washington)
My bad… totally missed it. The park is even better than when I shot that video.
A gun works great however I've used cheap foam brushes to apply latex mask on lexan with great results. The mask finish my not be as smooth as from a gun but it works great.
Do you dilute the liquid mask? (and how much if you do). I see how it moves in the cup in the video and I know how thick it is in the container. I've been brushing it on for years
That's what I want to know
I brought. Carpet version of this car. Can I convert it to dirt? Also can I drive my carpet version on grass or gravel?
Been doing this for two years following this video and will throw in a tip - filter the mask with a screen (I use a shaped screen for sink drains) before loading the paint gun and it will clog much less.
Good👍
What do you do with the spray gun while each coat is drying? Is it necessary to clean it in between coats?
Awesome crawling area.
Would be nice if a company came out with a pre masked body if that doesn’t already exist.
i was just saying that last night
@@silentassassin1108 seriously!? How nice would that be! Game changer
Have you completed more more videos with more how to's? Can't find. Thanks.
Nice job Thanks 👍
im guessing that a compressor i use with my airbrush will not work with this gun is that correct?
Shame the Bob Diveley mask is no longer available. I’ve switched to Bitty Design.
No other choice, really. Unfortunately, the internet is plastered with advice to use the Bob Diveleys product, which was touted to be the best. So confusing with all these extinct products for R/C.
Sooo... I would like to see you CUT out the shape - What is your technique for cutting through the mask.... but not cut into the body!? I've never done Liquid mask for a Lexan body.... but would think the cut lines would partially compromise the body a little bit?? I'm sure a lite touch - but I would like to watch you cut it out!? Also - Hair dryer is a little safer and more forgiving for drying - as opposed to a Heat Gun. Thanks for sharing!
I've been wanting to do this for some time now and your results was a deal breaker for me. What size needle do you recommend.
You can find exact HVLP spray gun in Amazon for 12.89. It has only 1 tip size which is 0.8mm. It is good enough because Bob Dively liquid mask is quite fluid, unlike other brands some can be quite thick, then you need to use higher pressure. (or you can premix some water) A heat gun is really helpful. (Actually like necessary) you can check out Bittydesign's video czcams.com/video/G4fDHgVRJmU/video.html This is probably the only company in the world that does professional RC car body stuffs now. At 1:03 it says they use 1.4mm needle size at 3.5 BAR. I use their liquid masking it looks thicker than Bob Dively but it works really well it doesn't tear off or peel off for no reason at all which can run your paint job.

@@golferchin76 thanks for the link... do you know if this gun runs off the same compressor as a airbrush?
Quick question bro, I have a 1.8 HP 17 Gallon 150 psi Air Compressor, will that run the kind of sprayer your using?
It will but you have to regulate the air pressure. I use a cheap Harbor Freight air pressure regulator, with one of their $.99 air dryers. It's the same setup I use for my airbrush. Hope that helps.
Excellent work, this video is a godsend
I subscribed please do the same cheers
Great vid my rc friend I just subbed up
Great Video. Thanks. What Compressor do you use? I just picked up the same Airbrush and it has a 1/4 in fitting. I have an Iwata Powerjet with 1/8 fitting I believe. Thanks for any info.
He is using a full sized air compressor for this, likely at high pressure. I use a 1.7 mm nozzle/ULV at 80+ PSI and I no longer dilute the mask. I've been using this and the method and the video for two years. Started with a 1.2mm nozzle and it clogged a lot.
@@BobDingleful thank you I have a cheap air gun with 1.7 nozzle. saves me spending more money after buying a iwata eclipse
Do you have to thin the liquid mask at all?
I guess it´s not possible to use that 1mm needle gun with a regular airbrush compressor, am I right?
Have you got a link.to spray gun
Man How Do You Do That So Well. 🤙🤙 so cool
Nice driving
Have the same gun work great first time not so good second time. I noticed when cleaning gun for second body I used cold water and mask and water don’t seem to mix well kept getting balls like wet paper towel. Clean gun completely broke down flushed with lacquer tinner and then ran water tru it Seem to some how not spray worth crap now even tried with filter out. Seems to mostly spit
You can get the HVLP spray gun with 0.8mm tip on Ebay for less than the version Amazon sells. www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Air-Spray-Gun-HVLP-0-8MM-Auto-Car-Detail-Touch-Up-Paint-Sprayer-Spot-Repair/122732275323
awesome my freind.. great vids keep up the good work. iv sub you 854 if you can sub me back that be amazing bro..
I drove my wife and I back into box canyon in March or April of this year in her 2012 Chevy equinox! Didnt make it as far as the mine but made it a lot farther then most would think! Lol. Really wish she would've let me continue on to the mine now. That looks amazing! Thank you for sharing such a great video!

Could you add links to the hvlp gun, airbrush, paint and mask you use? Thanks. Great video also.
These are awesome. I’m just getting into custom painting and wondered how do you come up with the patterns. Good work!!
Thanks man. I have adopted your procedure.
