My train videos about trains in Europe like the German ICE and the French TGV and TGV Thalys! Next to high speed passenger trains I also have some videos about cargo and freight trains available from time to time: So feel free to zap through my videos or playlists! Most of my videos were taken in Cologne and Aachen and in the closer area arround these cities.
Most of my videos were taken with a smartphone: I started in 2012 with an Apple iPhone 4 and you can see, that it misses optical image stabilization. All newer videos taken with later iPhone models therefore are more steady due to the improved camera optics.

Germany's fastest train, never built: #Transrapid
Germany's fastest train, with a top speed of over 400 km/h (250 mph), was only built on a test track in Germany. However, it laid the foundations for the Transrapid train in Shanghai and has a concept very similar to the #hyperloop idea.
Here you can see the Transrapod 06 prototype train on display at a museum in Bonn, Germany.

Arriving with the RRX train (Rhein-Ruhr-Express) coming from Cologne with a short view at Aachen Burtscheid at a beautiful sunny day. The ICE 2 from Hamburg Altona was faster and is already waiting in the station at another platform, because he will start his journey to Berlin Central Station later.

Viele #Züge am Bahnhof Köln: Während die Flixtrein Lokomotive, eine Siemens #Vectron warten muss, steht ein ICE 4 bereit und ein ICE 2 fährt ein. Anschließend folgen ein RRX (Rhein-Ruhr-Epress) als RE1, ein RSX (Rhein-Sieg-Express) als RE9 und eine Kölner S-Bahn! #bahnhof #flixtrain #trains

Eine rote #Lok der Baureihe 186 auf dem Weg in die Abstellung in Aachen West. Bei dem alten Viadukt wird erst ein Regionalexpress durchgelassen, bevor die Lokomotive sich weiter auf den Weg macht. At Aachen Central Station, ICE and TGV Thalys trains switch from the German to the Belgian voltage system: The Thalys train has to change the pantographs therefore. After the first pantograph is lowered, the voltage is switched on the platform and the train raises it's second pantograph as you can see here in the video. After that (end when everyone has boarded) the Thalys train can continue it...

It didn't just lay the foundations for the Transrapid system in Shanghai, the Shanghai system IS a Transrapid system (a later version than the one seen here) and was developed entirely in Germany. Hyperloop also has nothing in common with Transrapid, as it was meant to be suspended on air bearings, not magnets.

Ein tolles Vergleichsvideo !!! Ich hab den TGV Euroduplex von Jouef (nicht ganz so prickelnd) und den fuenfteiligen Rekardzug von Marklin (einfack toll). Nun hab ich mir den TGV POS mit 10 Wagen bestellt...
you can see that it's using a different pantograph than it usually does (in germany) normally it would use the most outer pantograph when in germany but here it seems to use one from the more center of the train

German train but running on a French LGV line? Not my favourite.
Also ich finde nicht, dass sich die Züge recht ähnlich sind. Nicht nur die Fronten sind anders, auch die Wagen. Allein durch die anderen Wagenkästen kann man die Züge doch schon unterscheiden.
