    I have seen videos before but there is still one question I have that I have not seen addressed. The straps under the casket-- since they are continuous, how do they get the straps from under the casket??? And for some, fyi--a coffin is different than a casket. A coffin has a one-piece lid where a casket has a two-piece lid. I researched it after seeing royal funerals and the "container" called a coffin while normally in the U.S. caskets are used so you view just the upper part of the body. So I now know the difference in a coffin and a casket. And coffins used back in the days of pioneers, etc. When the workers left, all I could think was how lonely it was. When my husband died suddenly in 2006, I went back to the cemetary 2 weeks later, my son had flown back home after staying a week longer to help me tie up loose ends and I went back to the cemetery by myself. As I was walking away, I felt such heartache as I looked back, because I was leaving him behind. The morning my son's bus left the airport for Chicago to fly home, it was 5a.m. and still dark. The only light was from the lights in the parking lot and fromt the moon. I had outlived my family andy my son was all I had. As I stood there watching his bus going down the highway, with tears pouring down my cheeks, standing by myself in that huge parking lot, until his bus was no longer visible, that was when it hit me that I was all alone. The heartache from losing my husband of 30 years and then realizing that I was all alone took everything out of me and I just sat in my car until I could stop crying and get myself settled down so I could safely drive back to an empty house. Now, I am facing the last years of my own life due to lung issues and reality hit hard as I watched this video. Death is a part of living and even thiugh we all know this is where we end up, it still happens to "other" people, not us. I will not step on a grave out of respect for that person's life. Doesn't seem right to walk on them. But that's just me. This video was respectful which is nice. It is just a job to those who work at the cemetery but still, it is someone's loved ones.

    Well done! Where i live the dirt is left near the grave where when the burial is taking place each family member and friend takes a handful and drops it onto the casket as its been lowered and or until everyone is done then everyone leaves at once.

    Is this the procedure for most of the country of United States? I understand that New Orleans does it different because of the soil there and swamps. Why concrete? Doesn't putting the casket and a concrete box take a lot of space?

    How many funerals do you guys get a day/how many guys do you have? Where I work we get anywhere between 1 and 6 a day. This week it was 3-6 everyday with 7 guys. I like how you guys put the grass back. We don’t do that but I’m wondering if it’s because we’re busy or management just doesn’t wanna deal with it

    Thank you for showing the house I built by the covered bridge in ashuelot. You do realize that upon expiration or abandonment that from a lease from 1822 by the house there's a 2 rod right of way (33feet)that reverted back to the property. It was leased to the ashuelot rail road company and is not public land. The state needs to look it up in the Cheshire County registry of deeds and by the old woodflower mill the gate is on private property, where the old church fence is is where the railroad went threw not where the gate is.

    why do cemetery/vault company personnel wait until the family is gone before beginning to close the graves up? they are families like mine that want to see the closure of the vault and put a few shovels of dirt in the grave as our closure. i know some families freak out at the grave closure and best not to see it. we all see this differently and should respect the family's wishes. if they want to leave or see the grave closed after the first shovel-fulls of dirt are put in by their families and friends it's their choice.

    Homelessness may not always be a choice, but it is often the result of poor decisions, like not thinking about your own well being and saving for a rainy day. However that said the other half of it is often government over policing and regulating and interfering with the construction of homeless shelters, housing, and similar. We don't need to be locking up people for smoking a bit of weed or throwing them in prison just because they're caught without a drivers license three times. It's one thing if you can show they're a genuine danger to others maybe, but it's a completely different matter to simply lock someone up because you've taken away their license for failing to pay child support (often the result of the loss of employment, etc).

    When your a recipient of ssi, it is absolutely against the law to save more than 2 thousand or have any asset worth more than 2k. So that guy who thinks he can save while he's in the shelter is setting his self up for getting all his benefits permanently revoked through no fault of hos own doing and can even face up to ten years in jail for ftaud and be ordered to pay back a large portion of past accumulated benefits ... A lot of people don't realize how strict and unconstitutional and flat out criminal the rules of Ssi are they have a rule that you can't even accept gifts over $20 a month if you do you mist report it so they can deduct it from your monthly benefit and ifvyou don't and they find out your done! FCK Ssi thanks for keeping me poor and ohh I don't qualify for anything because its too low of an income and considered a non stable fluctuating income and everyone looks down on you and the rest think you get free money. Its anything but free its a nightmare and a prison can't accept gifts or inheritance get married take out loans claim lottery winnings own anything buy life insurance grrrr

    Ben Carson did a deep dive on this and came up with the idea of putting tiny houses in peoples back yards. Im not sure if they were on wheels or stationary. Anyway with the agreement from the neighborhood allowing this to happen after seeing that the person moving there was an agreeable type. To add also the tiny house movement has to come about and resistance put aside. There are greedy investors on more than one level creating higher and higher living costs with no end in sight. Its time to stop putting a blind eye to this because it will have to be dealt with. So here is one of the best thought out solutions. If its not acted upon then it shows that people just dont give a sh----te

    The heroin is called " the Queen of drugs", In Italy it started to be available in the early 60s, it was difficult to find it, but it was there. Over the years, new drugs have come out, but heroin is always in demand, and is currently very easy to find. Heroin has destroyed many, too many young people, it has destroyed entire families, it is a substance that attacks your body but above all your mind and only a few people manage to save themselves.

    Some cemeteries dont use lowering devices and just place the coffin in the ground albeit almost drops them. When we buried both of my grandfathers they had no lowering devices.

  • @jonathanfalkowsky672

    I thought the family watches the coffin go down, not leave before it gets lowered.

    • @josephbennett3482
      @josephbennett3482 Před rokem

      Most of the time the remains are lowered in long after the mourners have left because it takes a bit of time to finish the burial process , the casket is put into the vault then both the vault and casket are lifted up so the lid can be placed on and sealed shut then the vault is then lowered into the grave which takes a few minutes to lower down. It's best that the mourners not be there cause the cemetery workers have to be able to do their work easily and as quickly as possible so that they can prepare for another burial.
