Cutting Artificial Grass to a curved edge
zhlédnutí 34KPřed 4 lety
Cutting artificial grass around objects can be intimidating for some. It's not like sod where you can just chop up small chunks and patch in the holes. A sharp blade and precise cut will leave you with a finished edge that looks great for years to come. Here we have a unique cut. A square finished edge has been converted to a curve with the use of Precision Edge garden edging. The turf has appr...
How To Install Artificial Grass Video Series
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 4 lety
We all want that lush green grass at home, but not everyone wants to put in all of the work that it takes to keep up with it. For some, maintaining a lawn is a hobby, but for others, it is simply a chore. A chore that you can check off the list for good after installing Bella Turf in your yard. This step-by-step video series breaks down each important step to the artificial grass installation p...
Final Touches to Installing Artificial Grass - Step 9
zhlédnutí 25KPřed 4 lety
Often after infilling, excess infill can get trapped between the outer grass blades and the perimeter wall, causing them to lean away from the wall and press into neighbouring blades. To remove this infill and allow your outer grass blades to relax, use a shop vac around all edges of your project area that have a perimeter wall. This will give you a loose natural finish to your edges. For the b...
Powerbrooming Artificial Grass - Step 8
zhlédnutí 54KPřed 4 lety
To get your infill layer to drop completely down into the backing of your grass, the object is to brush the grass blades back, allowing the infill to drop in and not just pushed across the surface. When using a power broom, it is important to not throttle too hard as you will do more harm than good. With firm downward pressure, ease the throttle on until the powerbroom is pushing you backwards....
Infilling Artificial Grass - Step 7
zhlédnutí 56KPřed 4 lety
The type of infill used on your project is specific to the chosen application. In this case, there will be both kids and pets using the grass, so we went with a 50 percent PureZEO and 50% Envirofill infill. We are putting in the PureZEO first as a deodorizing layer and capping it with Envirofill. Place a bag in your wheelbarrow and slice the bottom open with your X-Acto knife. You can infill th...
Seaming Artificial Grass - Step 6
zhlédnutí 131KPřed 4 lety
A great seam starts with the correct preparation. If you remove just one outer tuft and seam that edge, it will be extremely visible with the blades pressing together looking like a Mohawk. Removing the outer three tufts along with the factory edge will give you a vertical row of blades that line up perfectly with the piece of grass you are seaming to. If the space between the tufts on your cho...
Spiking Artificial Grass - Step 5
zhlédnutí 75KPřed 4 lety
Depending on the amount of foot traffic anticipated on and off the grass, we recommend spiking patio edges every 4 - 6 inches with a spiral galvanized spike. Use the tip of the spike to pull the blades back exposing the backing beneath. Use your thumb and forefinger to keep the blades spread apart while you tap the spike down. It should rest flat against the backing with no blades trapped down ...
Cutting & Installing Artificial Grass - Step 4
zhlédnutí 166KPřed 4 lety
Our knife of choice for cutting turf is a snap blade X-Acto knife with 18mm black Olfa blades. If you are installing up to a patio or garden edge, it’s safe to remove just the outer tuft along with your factory edge. If you are cutting to prepare for a seam, always remove the outer three tufts and the factory edge. When your two pieces of grass are laying side-by-side, the joining blades want t...
Rolling Out Your Artificial Grass - Step 3
zhlédnutí 49KPřed 4 lety
With the base finished up and a turf plan ready to go, use marking paint and mark out your project area with reference marks for where your seams will land. Determine which size roll needs to be installed first and remove any packaging. A sharp blade with light pressure does the trick. If available, roll the grass out on a flat surface, it will make the next steps quick and easy. When you know ...
Preparing the Base for Artificial Grass - Step 2
zhlédnutí 343KPřed 4 lety
Before bringing in base materials, the soil beneath should be shaped to accommodate drainage throughout the yard. A 3/4” clear crush can be used in drainage channels or as a first layer base for additional drainage. The base is built with a 4 to 6 inch layer of 3/4” crush and fines. Place and rake the gravel out evenly to your desired grade and then give your project area a thorough soaking. On...
Developing a Turf Plan - Step 1
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 4 lety
Having your turf plan in place before starting your project is an essential step to a quality Bella Turf installation. Measuring and mapping out your yard will help you choose the layout that fits best and creates as little waste as possible. Keep in mind, most of our products come in 15’ widths, but if you’ve got seams to do, account for 14.5 foot grass sections. Consider the direction of the ...
Revitalizing Turf Blades From Play Equipment
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 4 lety
Heavy play equipment, garden pots, outdoor furniture, you name it, it can all do harm win left on your lawn over time. Fortunately with artificial grass, this is not the case. This tip is for homeowners without any fancy tools, just a little bit of elbow grease. Take advantage of one of the many benefits of having a Bella Turf yard and revitalize those blades, keeping your grass looking fresh a...
Keep your artificial grass looking like new
zhlédnutí 89KPřed 5 lety
With an artificial grass installation in your yard, the maintenance is next to nothing. To keep your grass looking just as good as it did the day you installed it, we recommend keeping it clear of any debris that may decompose down in the blades. Here are a few tips to help you maintain that perfect lawn with everyday landscape tools.
The #1 reason for bad seams in Artificial Grass
zhlédnutí 177KPřed 6 lety
In the manufacturing process, the edges of the artificial grass go through a roller system. This is the cause of the outer most blades leaning towards the outside of the roll. If these outer 3-4 tufts are not cut off before seaming two pieces of grass together, your seam will be forever visible. Take our advice and make those seams dissapear once and for all.

    • @BellaTurfDIY
      @BellaTurfDIY Před 3 měsíci

15x15 example project area at 4” deep. (225 sqft) • Convert base depth from inches to feet (4”÷ 12” = 0.333’) • Multiply sqft of project by required base depth (225 x .333) to find total cubic feet of base required. (75) • Divide the cubic feet by the number of cubic feet in a cubic yard (27) to find the number of cubic yards of base needed (75 ÷ 27 = 2.77 cu. yd.).
