I have as of yet to see a tutorial; Where they tell you a variety of examples in which why you would want such a bowline type of knot and the applications in which it could be used for -specifying examples of each
A bowline knot is a versatile and secure knot that is commonly used in a variety of situations. Here are some examples of when you might want to use a bowline knot and the applications in which it could be used: 1. Sailing: A bowline knot is commonly used in sailing to secure a rope to a sail or rigging. It is a strong and reliable knot that will not slip or come undone, making it ideal for securing important lines on a boat. 2. Camping: A bowline knot is also useful for camping and outdoor activities. It can be used to secure a tarp or tent, create a makeshift clothesline, or hang food out of reach of animals. 3. Rescue operations: Bowline knots are often used in rescue operations, such as mountain climbing or water rescues. They can be used to secure a rope to a person or object, allowing for safe and controlled movement in dangerous situations. 4. Construction: Bowline knots are commonly used in construction for securing ropes and cables. They are strong and secure, making them ideal for lifting heavy objects or securing scaffolding. 5. Fishing: Bowline knots are also useful for fishing, as they can be used to secure a hook or lure to a fishing line. They are strong and reliable, ensuring that your gear stays secure while reeling in a big catch. Overall, the bowline knot is a versatile and reliable knot that can be used in a wide range of applications. Learning how to tie a bowline knot and understanding when and where to use it can be a valuable skill in many different situations.
Good presentation!
thank you
Just wondering in which cases you would prefer this extended Bowline to the normal Bowline? Where's the benefit?
The Harry Butlers Yosemite Bowline is preferred over the regular Bowline in the following cases: Increased Reliability: Extra wraps make it more resistant to slipping under heavy loads. Prevents Loosening: Better at staying tight with frequent tension changes. Enhanced Safety: More secure if the rope is wet or slippery. Climbing and Rescue: Essential for anchor points where knot reliability is crucial. Overall, the Harry Butlers Yosemite Bowline offers greater reliability, resistance to loosening, and safety in demanding conditions.
Wow, the ultimate 😍 Bowline ❤ . I like the way you make it very clear to understand with the blue 💙 ✋️
Thank you! I'm glad you found the explanation clear and helpful. The blue color really helps in visually distinguishing the steps, making it easier to follow and understand. The Extended Bowline is indeed an impressive knot, offering enhanced reliability and safety compared to the standard Bowline. Whether you're using it for climbing, sailing, or any other application, it's great to know you appreciate the clear demonstration. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask!

How long did it take you to learn to play that song ?
Well, it took so long that my fingers started thinking they were pianos and the neighbors started booking tickets for my “concerts”! But seriously, after weeks of intense practice and lots of repetition, I was finally able to play it the way I wanted to play it.
Nice
Nice? Well, this knot is so adorable that even the Mona Lisa would want to be photographed with it!

Green background, green gloves, greenish rope - so much contrast, it's like a symphony of shades of green! I think I'm creating the perfect work of art. Even the chameleons stop in admiration, and the forest fairies want to take lessons from you on color matching. This green ensemble literally screams harmony and unity with nature!
Interesting. Good job of tying it slowly. But can you share what it's principal use is?

Love the videos, keep it up! Can you show us how to do the monkey fist knot next!
Thank you!
you're welcome
the Double Slip Square Knot is just as reliable as any square knot.... what MOST tie their shoes with is a Double Slip Granny Knot .... and i no longer trust my shoes with that knot AND i teach others how to not tie it
you are absolutely right.
What will surgeons do with this knot? Pls enlighten me
I'm not a surgeon. I'm a sailor. so I can't answer your question correctly.
What is it good for?
The Blake's hitch is a friction hitch commonly used by as an ascending knot.
Captain Oleg Volsky.
Very good!

It's OK but I don't really see a use for it. The Bowline is a lifeline knot that is easy to undo when required. I don't know why a "slip" version would be needed.
More than 300 knots are officially recognized. In practice every sailor uses about 15. I show the variants I have encountered in my maritime practice. And everyone is free to choose the knots he will use in his life.
How does this compare to the alpine butterfly? Does one decrease the rope break strength more than the other? Does one slip more? how easy are they to untie after being under stress? Etc?
Related Alpine butterfly knot, Artillery loop, Span loop. The knot is a good one on all three counts-lead, security, and strength. Moreover, the method of tying is both ingenious and distinctive, and once mastered, it is not apt to be forgotten.
@@Oleg_Volsky_knots Interesting claim. Any break, slip, or untying tests to point to?
I haven't seen any official tests. But in reality, it's not a bad knot.
I hope l remember this in an emergency.😮
I hope you don't have any emergencies.
What is a practical usage for this knot?
Used to connect two ropes. Very easy to untie as shown in the video.
never heard of ashley bend
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashley%27s_bend
Ashley, Clifford W. (1944). The Ashley Book of Knots. New York: Doubleday. p. 264. 1452. (2/3/34.) Another original bend that is as easily untied as #1451. It appears to be strong, secure and compact...
Really neat knot. I have not seen this one before, so easy and looks very strong! ( I have not seen this one in "ASHLEY'S Book Of Knots"!
Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to familiarize myself with ASHLEY'S "Book Of Knots". I show only those knots that I became familiar with while working at sea.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😘
thank you
🤔 The 69 version is correct, but your first one wasn't.
You're absolutely right. In the first version, a mistake was made on purpose to test the attention of the audience.
Muito bom! Mas para que serve esse "laço companheiro"🤔?
O laço do nó de amizade é um nó para atar um laço seguro e estável na extremidade de uma corda.

chatGPT: The "Carrick loop" is a knot used in sailing and rock climbing. It's particularly useful for creating a secure and reliable loop in a rope or line. In sailing, it can be used for various tasks such as attaching a line to a cleat or creating a fixed loop in a line for rigging purposes. In rock climbing, it can be used as a tie-in knot or for creating a secure loop in a climbing rope. Overall, the Carrick loop is valued for its simplicity, strength, and security in creating loops in ropes or lines. Is it more secure than a bowline? Both the Carrick loop and the bowline are considered secure knots when tied correctly. The choice between them often depends on the specific application, personal preference, and familiarity with each knot. The Carrick loop is generally bulkier than the bowline and may be more difficult to untie after being heavily loaded. However, it's less prone to slipping or coming untied compared to the bowline, which can sometimes loosen if not properly dressed or under certain conditions. In terms of security, both knots have been used for various applications in sailing, climbing, and other activities where reliable knots are essential. Ultimately, the suitability of each knot depends on factors such as the type of rope, the load it will bear, and the user's experience and comfort with tying and using the knot.
I totally agree with you
cool: avoiding having the end of the rope inside the loop like with a bowline!
I agree with you completely
It would help if you showed whether the left or the ride side is the long or short rope (00:25)
at the beginning of the video you can clearly see that the short line is on the left side.
