Sons of Vancouver Distillery
Sons of Vancouver is a small distillery on Vancouver's North Shore. It was born out of a young, foolhardy desire to follow passions and contribute to a growing community of independent distillers. Best known for the ever-popular No. 82 amaretto, the distillery is now running a growing whisky program and is very excited to bring super flavourful rye whiskies to the Canadian market.

    this is great, but if you raise or lower the tripod doesn't the distance between the legs change? I think you could just put some sand bangs on the ends and just have the pipes ?

      No. The tripod can still be lowered or raised with the legs locked in the dolly. Try it yourself with a tripod on the ground. mark 3 points and adjust your tripod height while keeping the tips on the 3 points.

    Something you might want to add to this is a relief valve. If you cruise with a full tank in the suh all day, you may blow the weakest link of your shower apart without the relief valve.

    Hi, would you see any issues with routing the outlet of this system internally to feed a hot water tap purely for washing up in a campervan? Of course it would need to be drained if freezing temperatures were forecast. I ask as I don't want a shower (internal or external) but dont want a full blown combi (£1500) or a heat exchanger (air to water) via a diesel heater.

    • @ImaginetMedia
      @ImaginetMedia Před 4 měsíci

      I see no problem with that. But keep in mind you will have to figure out how to monitor the compressor. As water is used the air compressor needs to kick in to bring the pressure back up and then shut off. I do this manually right at the compressor outside (while my partner showers). You will need a compressor with auto-on and off ranges.

    I will make this but with improvements in your design. I will add removeable end caps to clean the interior thoroughly. Why did you glue both end caps on? By doing so, you can't clean out the system properly. By putting lake water in the pipe, during the test, the water is not fresh to drink if need be. Removal end caps would have been a major improvement for thorough cleaning the system.

There is not a trace of any residue in the tank. I never leave water in it unless I am using it. Once showered, the drain is opened as well as the cap removed It is bone dry by the time I refill it the next morning. But nice suggestions, I look forward to hearing the results with your project.

    Buy an inline water pressure regulator. Connect it to the end of you hose. Get a fitting that will hook to the water spigot. A short piece of hose with two female ends if necessary. This will eliminate the need for a hose fill port that can leak. In line regulators are generally rated at 25 psi. You may have to drain a little water to allow air space. Making a little fixture that allows you to pressurize the system through your water spigot and still flow water will eliminate one hole in your tank that can leak. You would have to shut off the water flow when you pressurize though.

      I do not use any glue. The threads are tapered NPT threads that self-tap into the hole. You must make sure that the hole you drill is the correct size. If you hole is too big, it will not self-tap in and will obviously lead. If your hole is too small, it may crack the lid. If you read the FAQ I provided in the description of this video, I wrote... THREADED SPIGOT Before threading the spigot (Drain) into the end cap, I heated the brass threads up with a propane torch. This slightly melted the ABS and made threading it in very easy. Once cold, it formed a perfect seal.
