Hey everybody, in todays video I am refreshing the rear brake system on my Celica. I will be guiding you guys on how to change out the rotor, brake pads, and installing new brake lines. I opted to go for Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, however the pads and rotors are OE style parts. I hope you find the video informative and it helps you out.

Hey man PO of my car installed this same hub. did you ever get the turn signal/horn figured out?
Not yet, I actually removed the whole set up and went back to stock for now because I had an issue with the hub holes not lining up with the clock spring. I’m planning to make a video where I modify it slightly to get it all working!
@@TEQTuning awesome I was planning on welding little tabs to the hub to make it work with the clock spring. Let me know when you get it figured out!

Thank you for this video! I have a 1984 RA65 GTS coupe that the steering rack started leaking. I bought the same rebuilt rack that you did & this video helped me so much with my installation.
do they also fit on the front?
Unfortunately these would not, you would have to measure the OEM front spring size and find an aftermarket one of equivalent diameter and desired height to replace the fronts, the front and rear do not share the same size spring.
@@TEQTuning I recently just got some mk2 supra springs off facebook marketplace. The backs for sure fit but i dont know if the front will for my gts
If the front springs were for a mk2 Supra they’d definitely fit a celica, but the spring rate may not be adequate for the celicas weight
OMFGGGG thank you for making this video! I've been following your channel for such a long time. I have a 83gts of my own that just quit out on me (fuel pump died) the next thing that's about to go is the suspension (been on the same 41 year old coils) this video is exactly what I needed. You always cover everything in the best detail and with how the forums just have back and forth info, you have been the best source I have found! Thank you thank you thank you.

Are these the rear lowering springs for the Corolla
They aren’t advertised as Corolla springs online, and I purchased them from somebody who used them on a Celica Supra, but I do believe the Celica springs typically fit Corollas! I’m not sure whether the GT-S and GT springs are different though

Well yes, the video is a rear spring install! I’m still deciding between front coil over conversion options so I put the rears in, in the mean time. I looked into T3 but I think Ground Control is better for my budget and needs!
Check how much negative camber you gained from lowering the rear. Yours doesn’t look too bad but watch out for getting cambered out as the suspension drops.
Yeah it looked like I gained about -1 or so from the drop, not so much that I’m worried since I plan to get the front suspension done soon, and then have the car aligned!

Hopefully I'll be able to get a head unit for it soon! I'm not sure if I'll be doing sound deadening on the Tundra but most likely the Celica will get some!
I had a 1983 Supra and the rod bearings went bad, I wish I had gotten the GTS like yours with the 22R engine much better engine than the Supra !!!!!

Daniel you can’t run the K&N filter dry you need to spray it with the K&N spray filter oil otherwise it is no effective in capturing the small air particles. You can get it with the K&N cleaning kit at most any auto parts stores
All of the K&N Filters come pre oiled, in a couple thousand miles, yes, reoiling will be necessary along with cleaning but new out of the package it is perfectly fine!

I have a gen one 79 celica supra solid rear axle with disc brakes and a lsd
How do you know the tick isn't valve lash? Usually the chain slaps.
I checked all the valves and the timing chain out already, and the valves were good thankfully, but the chain had immense slack in it. I used poor word choice referring to it as s tick because that would indicate the valves, but I know for sure its the chain
