    I feel like there is not much information or awareness on the medical social work but your video helped a lot, thank you! There is no emphasis available , or required/suggested course for the BSW focusing on medicine at the UWGB campus so I often feel like I’m going in blind and unprepared on what to expect as a medical/clinical professional as opposed to the micro professions like case management or therapy. Your lecture was impressive to me considering the amount of information you had to remember and supply while being sick.

    Not all of us can be as perfect as Y'all. !!! Childhood Trauma and Abuse is usually the reason for maladjustment aka PTSD.. Helping is one thing but Judging and High Horsing is another which is counter productive to the person. Unless you're thoroughly trained also. COMMUNITY ORIENTED PERSECUTION IS THE OTHER. LYNCH MOBBING OF PTSD VICTIMS WHICH IS WELL, NEFARIOUS !!!

    No, a social worker is not a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner. They don’t need to study biology, chemistry and medicine. So I believe that we need to silence these people who aren’t qualified to diagnosis people. That when they diagnosis, it’s usually judgmental. I could have ended up homeless. I don’t like social workers. I was told that I had an eating disorder when I weighed 145 pounds and I am only 5’6” tall. They are liars. They will make illnesses just to get money or to have a job. These people are talking about mental illness like it’s retardation. I would like it if one of these ladies would like to be a student in the economist’s class named John Nash. This video is the most judgmental video that I ever heard. All what it’s like is about making money. They aren’t nurses. They don’t have to understand medicine. I have nothing good to say about these people.

    • @laurieberry4814
      @laurieberry4814 Před 2 lety

      Also, I met violent psychology students. The way that there is an older gentleman talking about being in jail can get a person falsely arrested and accused. The lack of knowledge from the narrator confuses people. That people who don’t believe that they are mentally ill, examples non straight people. I am asexual. My dad may have been angry at me for not showing enough interest in men. That I was critiqued for wanting to cook Spanish traditional foods by a social worker because I guess that I don’t look Spanish. That I was a housekeeper, so I don’t understand why this woman is talking down to people from dysfunctional families. That if I mention that I am capable that someone would cry grandiosity. I couldn’t afford college, so I had to work hard. The narrator is foolish to be fearful. There is a phobia of people with mental health problems. I think she is prejudiced. That’s probably why people don’t want help.

    Wow! This is good stuff. She has a pleasant and engaging presentation style. I have gotten many labels and now I'm having difficulty with decision making and my dad told me he's house bound. 15:00 Digging deeper that psychologists don't normally do when using open ended question. 16:40 I agree yes this is good to recognize. Multiplicity of contexts. "Whats Happening When, with Whom" I cant even stand two workers if our personalities or "fluctuations" are different. 20:00 This is true unless that dd individual has found themselves "slipping through the cracks" or "gaps" like me. I am all alone in my place with a homecare worker who is now more frustrated with me than not. And a community support worker that's a little nuts but now she's leaving. I can say one thing that it is difficult to manage everything yourself from workers, to house esp when there is asymmetric expectations.
