That audio test was... odd. You don't play with handheld console put on the table, and given that TrimUI has built-in speaker - it resonated with the table (which made it somewhat louder than speakers from "H" which were not facing the table). Correct way to do an audio test would be to actually hold both devices with microphone looking down on them (as your ears would be placed). It seems that TrimUI from your test has better (Stronger) speaker, but it really doesn't matter as you made audio-screen from the table. Beside that, nice vid man. Thank you for this review.

I’ve had the Gpd win 3 for years now and I’m thinking of upgrading to the 4 and making it my primary gaming computer since the 3 now lacks some power compared to this I think it would be well worth it for the games I play mainly fallout and black ops 3 modded zombies

Cool device, but I'm always curious to kniw how large is the audience for these products...having my "old" poco F4 phone, with 120hz 100% P3 color gamut, with black frame insertion activated on retroarch I get 8h battery life against these 3+ hours...without fan noise, and for the same price (way cheaper now). Except the switch emulation perfs which are lower on my poco (as expected), I get really NO REASON to pick up such device... And considering smartphone capabilities nowadays I'll keep sceptical about a real audience for these products... Cool that it's still existing by the way lol

Interesting to see the original SP compared to the RG35xx SP rather than an AGS-101. Would be kind of neat to do a comparison of all the versions from the OG non back lit GBA, to the fan afterburner kit, first SP, AGS-101, micro, DS phat, DS Lite and then the latest LCD kits. Also, wish a GBA emulator would strip out the midi files and replay them as higher quality yamaha XG samples. It's not an apples to apples comparison but similar in spirit to fan restorations using original midi hardware with higher quality samples along with MSU-1 streaming. I could do with less bacon sizzle in my GBA soundtracks.

Hi does anyone know what emulator Joey used to showcase the games.I some of the games I tried on my retro pocket 4 pro crashed

I got the blue 1 for my brother and the silver for me. I used to have a original sp and love it. We are using it mostly for 8bit,16bit,ps1 and some psp/n64 games. The buttons are ok. This and my miyoo mini plus are my go to for retro gaming. For dreamcast,GameCube and some ps2 my retroid pocket 2s.

This is actually entertaining because I recently tried this setup because I have an old Galaxy Tab S6 with SD 855. Out of all the retro consoles I find this setup very useful if I play 3ds games. Maybe it's because of my very bad eyesight that I like bigger screens. I do agree that it is a very sketchy setup and I have to be very careful when holding it or everything will just break. However, if you want an amoled tablet and willing to spend abit more, Amazon is selling it for around $275-300. It is more expensive but imo it's around the performance of rg556/rp4pro. Also if you didn't want to use the tablet you can always attach it to your phone.

Personally speaking after using the SP since it came out, I do find the Dpad to be noticeably fatiguing to use for long periods though it definitely is precise. Everything else is fine, I don't find the other buttons to be particularly loud. The Dpad however is much better than the vertical 35xx and plus version which I both found to be feeling mushy and unresponsive. I couldn't stand how it felt and sold it off.

When should one pick the large FAT32? Do i choose that with a 512GB sd card?

yeah, this is my favorite handheld so far. Everything PS1 and down is this and everything above PS1 I have my steam deck.

MuOS beans made this device perfect sure it doesn't have screen sleep but that's fine. MuOS base shaders applied appear invisible as if nothing is on. It's so great

I didn't have to get onion OS it will change color to that greenish old Gameboy color change into dozens of other colors screen size etc. when I go thru the game arc app area , if I go thru the regular Gameboy section it's just the black and white version but I love that Miyoo Mini plus and I might just buy another just as a display on my shelf of these bootleg console collection I'm building. One that's been around for awhile the x7 has some Mario hacks that's been around probably 6 yrs maybe longer and can't believe they still sell these with those still in it and the games are super KKK Bros which it is what it says it is very racist weird one called super sperm bros and again just like what the name is, where Mario is a sperm and his power up is an egg. Very very weird. There is one called super Abe bros where he is dressed up and looks like Abe Lincoln. How are they still allowing that to be sold especially with the racist one in it? It has swastikas for power ups when he gets a fire flower power up which is a white cross he turns red like the leader of the KKK is. The enemies are stereotypical black people in the early last century. It's pretty awful and should be banned but you can still buy them apparently because I did not 4 months ago and didn't even know until last week when I was scrolling thru it to look for something to play. Shocked the hell out me not only because of what it is but also because of it still being on these handhelds. Unbelievable. I'm wondering who thought of that idea and then made it?

Thanks for the guide Joey it helped a lot. Having issues with NetherSX though. I uninstalled everything first then followed your guide. When I try to install the patched apk it asks if i want to update the app instead of install and when I try to it hits me with an error. Any idea where I went wrong mate?

Does it play PSP well?

Is it hard to remove the top for custom paper to add design? What are the dimensions of the paper needed to add said design?

I cannot STAND that non-symmetrical, one curved side, one pointy side layout on handhelds. I'd rather have terrible buttons and a crappy OS.

I bought a second sp thinking i got lucky as the buttons were in no way fatiguing either. I have a transparent and solid and both are very easy to press so i was confused about all the comments regarding this. I am also aware that I'm a 30 year old male so maybe for some people it is actually tiring but I've been playing hours on these daily and havent had any cramps or issues at all.
