I need your advice. I just did the first leg of Ragbrai this last Sunday (Glenwood). I had just finished rebuilding a Raleigh Olympian Road Bike (made in the 1980s). I upgraded the wheels and the derailleur (Shiimano), but when I tried to ride it uphill It just wasn't working. Even though I was in the highest gear (largest Sprocket) I still had to work way to hard. People were passing me by with higher end bikes like Specialized, Trek, or Cannondale. Is it due to gear ratio? Something else? I mean some of these guys were fat with a beer belly and they were still getting up the hill easily. I very quickly got upset with the Raleigh. How I want to get something like a Trek Domane SL6, does this seem correct to you?

Nice one. Recurved top bars' are more practical, stylish & elegant, on women's bikes. They should be standard on all bikes, instead of the straight, boring top bars'

Thanks for posting, ordered the pr1600(dual lights). Solid pricepoint with USB-C. No LBS's had a front USB-C charging in any brand (sigh). Semi-local Universal Cycles does not stock raveman so I had to buy direct.

I have a Kona Dew Plus 2020, XL, all black. I use it for just about everything except mtn. biking: commute, gravel, hybrid. The bike handles superbly and is a joy to ride and it would be much better if the designers got over the fallacy of lowering air pressure in tires for a smoother ride. This may be good on the mountain trails, but it is ridiculous on the roads and dirt roads I usually ride on. I live in central Vermont, in the middle of the green mtns, and these roads and dirt roads can get excessively steep:). You can't climb these and live to tell about it on 30-40 pounds of pressure, so I've had to modify the Kona with seat/handle bar suspension so I could pump up the tires to a higher pressure. I took out the WTB Horizon tires that came with the bike for WTB Venturas (love the tan tire wall) as I can get more pounds in the tires to make it easier to ascend these climbs and to roll over our potholed pavement. I also put a nine-speed cassette on the back. These modifications have made it into a much more comfortable and versatile bike and I think Kona should think about that in future models of the Dew.

I had a road bike for a couple years and never could get used to the hand positions. Went to a hybrid and changed the bars to a set with more bend. Much more comfortable to me and I can ride longer than I could with the road bike.

Ave got a Kona lava dome 2020 and ave changed everything hope pro2 wheels n hubs and Judy do a thru Axel on the boost judy RL gold 2019 model that's what a got on it it's great and ave put an ethirteen dropper TRS+ on too

I ride my rove st with a tyre wide of 50 in the back and 57 in the front, which works perfectly :) But what I don't like about the rove (the only thing) that the back is not made for much wider tyres compared to the front. They designed the back fork of the sutra a bit smarter.

I've had mine for almost a year and love it. I've added the rear rack and a good trunk bag and upgraded to the larger standard battery and lcd display among other things. I've got around 6000 problem free km on it now with just regular maintenance like brake pads and the occasional adjustments. It's been a solid bike that gets ridden LOTS!

Love your videos. I’m up in Seattle and just test rode a Kona Dew. Excellent bike and so versatile. Perfect for gravel and some packed dirt trails. I’ve heard the Dew described as an “adventure bike in disguise.”
