    Hey i thought of smth the other day and wanted to suggest this, the possible Parallel to Rykard and the Old Iron king. Both are leaders of a powerful military source (Rykard being a Praetor and O.I.K being the commander of Iron Warriors/Soldiers aswell as Alonne knights) And both discovered an ancient power which is antithesis to the current ruling power (The O.I.K discoverinf Gwyns soul, Vendrick does not like the Gods/ Rykard discovers both the Gelmir Sorceries and the pagan Serpent God within the mountain) And begin a cruel campaign to kill and torture a class of people (OIK with undead, and Rykard with Erdtree loyalists and sometimes Albinaurics) Are both consumed by indulgences, and then literally consumed by the cause of them (The OIK by the molten iron he dominated the world with, and Rykard by the Serpent which awakened these urges) and transform into something other than human, The King becoming the Molten Devil, and Rykard becoming one with the Serpent. I think like with most of this series, they are very different characters but with very simular foundations. Cruel people in power who would fall from Honor and lose their comrads respect and loyalty, as they descended into such depravity that it literally mutilated their bodies into monsters. Albiet their sanity after this transformation is cloudy at best. As a die hard ds2 fan i ADORE this series and i woukd love to see you cover this!! And- not to sound to self important, but if you HADNT previously thought of this(which i doubt ur very good at this) than a shout out to this comment would be rlly appreciated- yknow if you cover it Anyways again thank you for this series!!!❤👍👍 looking forward always

    It takes 5 Giant Souls to defeat a stray Hollow that doesn't even have a soul. King Vendrick is just like the player character. Vendrick had a low opinion of miracles and gods. In battle, he preferred soldiers who relied only on their own raw strength. Vendrick defeated the 4 Lords who existed in his time and founded the Drangleic Kingdom, which was almost the size of an entire continent, on their graves. Vendrick brought the Giants to their knees and turned their power into his own. He could easily be a Lord of Cinder if he wanted to. Instead, he sought a new path. He looked into the essence of the soul. We see how powerful Vendrick is even without his soul. Vendrick can use the power of the crowns and literally break the curse with just Vendrick's Blessing. He is the "Old King of Want". "Shield of an ancient king who was cursed by an all-consuming thirst." Vendrick can do anything if he "wants". He has a power that surpasses even the Gods. He has the most STRENGTH in the entire Dark Souls trilogy, surpassing even Yhorm the Giant and the Gods/Everlasting Dragons. Imagine how strong Vendrick was in his prime. He is definitely stronger than Gwyn or Manus. Only Ashen One, SOC and Gael can be compared to it.

    I've repeated this on other videos but does no one else see a clearly male figure when the elden music plays? Radagon had golden hair before being cursed and the lighting gives it a reddish tint which I believe is another hint. Radagon tried to repair the Elden Ring after Marika shattered it... Makes me think HE is the one that started everything. Also there is a statue in Leyndell hinting that Radagon is the original. Something like " Radagon is Marika" . If this trailer shows the birth of the Golden Order than my interpretation based on that statue is that Radagon was also present because they are the same person. I don't know how Marika and her snake bangles fit into it but the figure holding up the strands is definitely male and I believe it's Radagon. I think he plays a much bigger part in this story than we think/know about.

    The Erdtree is not made of wood. It's actually petrified flesh engulfing an original older primordial tree. It's like a petrified cast made of sacrifices and it was burned down but somehow Marika kept it's illusion alive through grace and that's why we see it golden and ghostly when we play elden ring.

  • @Glaedrein

    What if the GEQ and Marika were sisters much like Miquella and Milanea? And the seduction/betrayal was them turning on each other, leading to marika fleeing to the lands between with the GEQ close behind? Or perhaps the GEQ was marikas mother? Idk, theres very few queens in elden ring, Queen Marika and queen rennala make sense. But the gloam eyed queen? What was she queen of? We know she was emperyan, so perhaps could she have been a god? Or meant to be the next one before marikas betrayal? Perhaps vice versa. And messmer could be the GEQ child, and not marikas. And the deception he speaks of is not of marika, but the GEQ. Perhaps others could build on this theory or disprove it as im not very good at getting my point across, and have little time to back up with evidence.

      I think it's the GEQ's body her hand is reaching into, also why the purple sky is being divided with gold, the bodies she's standing in the middle of could be the beginning of her erdtree. Also another hot take I think the person being burned in the middle of the city is Melina

    • @Glaedrein
      @Glaedrein Před 12 dny

      @@GdoubleU8852 But Melina said she was born in the erdtree, right? Wait, what if it's like a holy Trinity type thing going on? Marika, GEQ, Radagon. GEQ was reborn after death, and she became Melina? GEQ could be like the Jesus figure if that makes sense. Died to create new life, and resurrected to help rebuild when the world fails? That would explain why she comes back and vows to destroy you in the Frenzy Flame ending. Also explains her being burned before, and wanting to help guide the tarnished in their role. Though, has anyone considered.... Could Melina be the Greater Wills envoy? The only ending Melina takes issue with is the frenzy flame. She doesn't come back for any other ending but the frenzy flame. It's been speculated that the greater will doesn't care what order forms, just that there IS order. Much like Melina...

    @belacqua4435 Před 13 dny

    With the first line of the trailer we think that Marika herself seduced and betrayed the order before her own, and there is enough reason to believe that since she ruled over and developed the Lands Between by Macchiavelian means. But after thinking and repeating the line of the narrator I noticed that this sentence does not specify who or what the seducer and the seduced actually were. Yes, in the end Marika betrayed the former order and its God to create her own as it is visually depicted by her reaching in the supposed womb and the pile of corpse which are probably the catalyst for the creation of the Erdtree. But what if the Greater Will seduced Marika to cause a bloodshed and replace the past order? As many videos stated before - the Greater Will does not care who rules the Lands Between and how it is handled as long as there is order. With this in mind I came up with the theory that in the past the Shadow Land was at the brink of a crisis similarly to the shattered Lands Between, and a new god was urgently needed to restore order. Marika had the qualities of an empyrean (being able to bear children) and the Greater Will saw potential in her that would create a new order, so it communicated her on how to become a god which in consequence lead to the destruction of the Shadow Land under her son Messmer. This scenario would also explain why Marika shatters the Elden Ring because she realized through her studies about the Outer God that 1. just like the previous god she was replaceable at any time 2. she had no autonomy over herself after becoming a god and was a vessel instead, a substitute of the Greater Will. This scenario would also explain why the Greater Will had abandoned the Lands Between after the shattering since there were no empyreans left to restore order and controlled by the Greater Will - Ranni and Miquella had discarded their bodies that the Greater Will didn't have any influence over them, and Malenia was too weakened after the fight with Radahn to create an order of rot. There is the peculiar nature of being an Empyrean that wasn't further explained in the base game. Are the conditions of being chosen to be an Empyrean by the Greater Will just the ability to bear the next generation and having quasi-god like qualities, or does the familial lineage play an important rule also? In the base game Miquella, Malenia and Ranni were chosen as Empyreans by the Two Fingers, and Marika herself was one as well. The last one mentioned as an Empyrean is the Gloam Eyed Queen. Considering the argument that the conditions of becoming an Empyrean are being able to bear children and having quasi-god like powers it seems like Rennala might be a good candidate as well. But no item descriptions nor any NPCs mention anything about this possibility. The reason why lies probably that Rennala is under the influence of the Outer God of the Moon. And looking further she isn't consanguineous with the Marika lineage (as it stands right now) - which is why I had the idea that to become an Empyrean one must be directly related to the lineage that Marika belongs to - which would make the betrayal even worse if the former god was indeed a relative of her. There are still some things that still causes some head scratches - f.e. the era of Godfrey is associated with the Crucible and the Omen. If the Shadow Land was indeed the Crucible era, a time where being an Omen was something positive and holy how does it fit in the history of the Golden Order?

    There’s no Marika.. it’s RADAGON from the beginning ..brother of Messmer.. that gold thread and the golden sky represents the Elden beast being drawn into the gold fabric and creating Elden ring .. Radagon made everything from scratch with the help of Messmer..that’s why he tries to stop his alter ego Marika .. Radagon rules the lands between but in the guise of Marika. Messmer rules the land of shadows.. Remember Elden beast was brought down from outer world in the creation of Elden ring … We only hear about Marika mostly in the lands between because I think radagon took form of Marika in his plan to recruit hoarah lux.using his true form to seduce rennala.. we fight radagon and not Marika .. we fight Elden beast too.. only suggests we fighting the true form of radagon/marika..which is radagon.. Radagon is imperial.. Marika has motherly attributes.. That’s where problem starts.. trying to make her own babies and they had afflictions since birth.. Marika is the one ready to destroy everything.. Radagon is trying to save what he created .. Melina is St Trina .. daughter of GEQ.. Miquella is lost to St Trina..

    My theory is Marika attempted to use the golden order to control the lands between, but it was the elden beast that was truely in control. This left Marika still being in control by someone else, so she shattered the elden ring, and Radagon, a 2nd half created onto her once she became a god- tries to fix it. I believe Marika was and is the true villian. She wants to control everything. Everyone.

    I do wonder why are there so many omen in the land of shadow, Messmer looked like he pretty much picked the entire area clean, and I'm sure he never stopped his hunt since the massacre, like, were there traitors among them, i mean looking at the base game, just about every factions has a traitor in their mits, so i wouldn't doubt hearing about more betrayal un the DLC

    Maybe its just me but who is holding up that golden rune, Marika? That, to me, doesn't look like a female body, thats a man, it's Radagon, he seduced the gloam eyed queen to become a god, but what about Marika where does she come in, is she the gloam eyed Queen??

      One thing about what you said, Miyazaki said that, if I remember correctly, there has been a whole lot of wild speculations going around, that the lands between and the land of shadow were one til Marika did something, from what I'm guessing from the trailer, made the Erdtree and shadow tree and at the same time the lands between was formed or created the land of shadow, both were one then she separated them, doesn't make sense to me but I've heard worse even crazier speculations, heck even my own

      I’ve been thinking the same. Maybe similar to the everlasting dragons where his age was not volatile and just unchanging. I think there’s been more rulers between him and Marika though. Something tells me he and Marika aren’t the only previous major players to have a god on their side with the Elden Ring. Thanks for checking out the video!

    I wonder who taught Godfrey that style of fighting? I ask because in my time helping folks I've noticed something and it's a reach. We see Godfrey and Radagon perform very similar moves. Stomps to be specific. Now where do we see a group of people Ritually Stomping? Ancestral Followers. Idk what it is. The flowing techniques and stomps seem loosely connected.

      Interesting idea! It might also be just something From wanted to use since there’s the jump button in Elden Ring. I imagine the DLC will delve into how Godfrey became the legend he is in the base game since there is all of this crucible stuff going on based on the trailers we’ve seen. Hey man, I liked the video, and reacted to it live on stream on my channel. A couple bits of feedback for you: As far as the PC's individual choices go, I'm a little confused why you felt as though there was less agency in DS1 + 3 in particular. I know you mentioned being manipulated by serpents and whatnot, but for what it's worth, you can still become the Lord o da Dark without ever meeting Kaathe─you can just walk away. And in DS3, I feel like the "stomp" ending is the most symbolic of one choosing their own fate, the world be damned.

    • @xLevelT
      @xLevelT Před 16 dny

      Ds1 and 3 options to me felt like a prophecy or path laid out for you by systems beyond your reach. Ds2 offers the choice and more importance on the individual. Got that same vibe from elden ring too. The stomp ending does throw a wrench in that a bit yet it could be said there is some influence on the player. Ds2 and Elden ring really don’t have anyone telling you to do anything beyond maybe frenzied flame. Nobody is gonna hate you or come after you no matter the ending except Melina for frenzied flame. I appreciate you checking out my whacky content!
