Hello and thanks for visiting Pierini Fitness here at CZcams where you can view various videos I’ve made over the years of a real-life middle-aged man chasing middle-aged man fitness, health and wellness. There are also two videos about two books I've written, both having a theme of middle-aged man reflections about living and dying, gracefully-aging and trying my best to live a good and honest life.
I'm a 69-year young middle-age man - #FITAT69 - trying to maintain upper-percentile, age adjusted, cardiovascular-respiratory and strength endurance conditioning. I don't belong to a gym but, instead, train at various parks and home doing pull-ups, bar dips, kettlebell workouts and burpees.

POWER 5x5x5 DOUBLE 16kg KETTLEBELL COMPLEX WORKOUT by 69-years young Pierini Fitness #FITAT69
6/1/2024 - Today was repeating a workout I did last over one and one-half years ago on 12/28/2022, known to me as the Power 5x5x5 Kettlebell Complex.
This kettlebell complex uses a pair of 16kg kettlebells to complete five kettlebell exercises, each one done for five reps before moving on to the next one for one round. The five kettlebell exercises are: (1) swing, (2) snatch, (3) clean, (4) rack squat , and (5) overhead press.
I learned this workout from Scott Iardella @RdellaTraining.
My time today to complete five rounds was 14 minutes 48 seconds, a nice improvement compared to the time it took on 12/28/2022 of 17 minutes 10 seconds.
I attribute improved burpees conditioning for the improved time it took to complete today's workout.

5/29/2024 - Today I did a Sprint 8 burpees with jumps workout. The Sprint 8 protocol is the brainchild of Phil Campbell that I learned about many years ago when reading his book Ready, Set GO! 5/24/2024 - My Dad passed 11 years ago today so I dedicate today's 100 burpees with jumps workout for him, rest in peace dear Dad and thank you for developing in me a joy of fitness training. I completed 5 rounds of 20 burpees with a recovery time of 18 seconds between rounds. My targeted time was 9 minutes 42 seconds but my actual time was 9 minutes 49 seconds. Pierini Fitness #FITAT69

5/21/2024 - the plan today was burpees with jumps x 20 for 5 rounds with a target recovery of 18 seconds between round for 100 burpees. I was aiming for a time of 9 minutes and 42 seconds but clocked 10 minutes flat. I started off fast but faded the second half. Every day is different so we'll keep trying. Pierini Fitness #FITAT69

I am 70 and exercise ETC and was also a nurse. A critically strategic goal in life is to preferably learn you are being stupid/idiotic BEFORE the stroke NOT after you've had it. Same for F.cked knee, heart attack etc. It boils down to insight into when you are being obsessive eg "must do 100"- even if it kills you. It is pretty bloody stupid to exercise into a wheelchair or coffin. people being bloody stupid are actually wonderful "teachers" if you are shrewd enough to realise it.
Why don't you post some fitness training videos of you demonstrating safe and stroke/heart attack/injury free training since you seem to hold yourself out as someone who's an expert on the subject. Let's see what you got.
Not everyone has to have the same values as you, some people enjoy pushing their limits.

@@pierinifitness I’m doing great. Healed up nicely. Have an appt for the fitting of prosthetic in a few weeks the a few weeks late get the eye part. Then it’ll be up to work comp to clear em and then I’ll be able to get down on camera.

We need some passive recovery days although truth be told, I was stiff like an old rodeo cowboy after being on the riding lawnmower for three hours.

Smart time cadence that the mind believes it can do makes for a great time. I'm a big practitioner of constant time intervals rather than using my perception, works for me.

You kept your technique to the end. The counting at the same time must be making it harder.
I find counting keeps my mind occupied so it doesn't wander as much about how hard the quick workout is becoming.

Thanks, I'm away and only packed a pair of 16kg kettlebells so trying to make the best use of them with volume workouts. I did use a 20kg competition KB from a friend - first time - and I like the way it felt in my hand. He has a nice collection.
