Bob Lutz should have been chairman of Chrysler instead of Bob Eaton. Lee Iacocca picked the wrong man. Daimler 2.0. The Europeans have no clue what to do with cars born with a US heritage. They don’t respect the product for one. The Japanese got Nissan back from the clutches of Renault. Chrysler as we knew it is dead. Jeep might be the sole survivor. It don’t look good. One of my co workers jokenly said “there’ll be no Dodge in my garage “ I took a bit of offense to that then. It’s getting to be a good statement now.

I own a muscle car from another company. While it's being repaired at a shop I was given a rental car. There wasn't much to choose from at the time I got the rental, and I ended up getting an electric car as my rental. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast and smooth it accelerates, and how quiet it is while doing so. I thought the next time I'm in the market for a new car I'd want the best of both worlds. There is not a lot to currently choose from when it comes to electric sports cars (especially reasonably priced ones) , and when I saw that Dodge had plans to come out with an electric Charger that not only performs like an electric car while looking like a muscle car (while having good storage space) I thought I'd found what's likely to be my next car purchase. After hearing about Tim's leaving I am left wondering if the car will see the light of day, how the plans for the car could change (potentially not for the better), and what the future may look like for it. I hope the electric Chargers do come out, and are successful. Contrary to what what some might say (aka: those who have never driven an electric, those who have never driven a muscle car, and those who live where gas isn't ridiculously expensive) there very much is a market for electric sport and muscle cars. (I'm one of them).

Air Conditioning and Radio 📻 controls on the infotainment screen in the Summer. Are no good. The heat makes them black and glitches. You have wait until it gets cold. Then on a red light turn off the car then turn it on to have those controls. It kept me away from the 2024 S650 Mustang. Prefer nobs buttons and / or switches. The LiDar Sensors turns on and tries to steer away into slower lane and slows down the car going into a roundabout freeway entrance. Self drive fails when the Sensors and Cameras are obscured by bugs splatter, bird dropping ( beaches ) ⛱️ road grime or tar

Sensor boxes integration isn't a sensor issue. It's a design issue. Lots of cars have the hidden behind the logo. Lazy/poor integration is a design and engineering issue, not a sensor issue.

In 2004 I bought a new fully optioned Civic VI hatch MY04....even had built in full-on infotainment including Sat/Nav, (a real rarity in 2004) I sold it 14 years later with 310,000 kms on the clock. Replaced brake pads, tyres, timing belts and a battery but, the only thing that actually broke in that times was.....one headlight globe!! I sold it in 2018 and 17 months later the guy who bought it from me sent an email saying it had clocked up 400,000Kms and it was still running just like new! On selling it I replaced it with a 2014 Civic Hatch VTI-LN, once again fully optioned. That has now done 200,000 Kms, doesn't use any oil between regular services and nothing has broken down on it. I agree the transmission is not well suited to the 1.8 Lt motor but the paddle shifters make it a pleasure to drive. For me there is no other vehicle I would consider in my life than a Honda and it saddens me to watch this video.

I will bet the Chinese will wind up with the company all thanks to Carlos Tavares. I have never owned anything but Chrysler/RAM and Jeep, including my 2023 Grand Cherokee Summit Hemi, of which I am very happy with. That said, CDJR needs to come back to American Ownership, and possibly Elon Musk would be my choice. We went through the Nazi debacle with Chrysler (Daimler/Mercedes), then the Satanists (Cerberus), then the Italians, and now the FROGS (French), and I am of French ancestry and I am certainly not bragging.

Automakers seem desperate to make car ownership as unenjoyable as possible. They are far to expensive and all seem to be low quality. Pure money pits. More and more young people are holding off learning to drive for as long as possible and some all together. And there is growing desire for alternatives besides private cars. Like the walkable city, biking, buses, etc. Its all small now. But if automakers dont slash prices and lower their profits they might create a future where they dont exist because they have made the process so miserable. I really love my car but I have seen so many young peoples life on hold because they cant afford any car in todays world. They are stuck at some low end job and struggle to claw their way out. Cars are such wealth drains.
