PART (1) Mopar A-body factory Camber bolts Repaired
zhlédnutí 69Před měsícem
In this video I repair the factory camber bolts for the Valiants upper control arms that had grooves worn in 2 spots on the shafts of the bolts . I had to mig weld small sections at a time to cover over the grooves not to stress the metal then use a bench grinder to knock down the welded areas back to a restored areas so the bolts can be used in the car again . Part 2 will be the upper control ...

Question did you ever make those 2bb brackets? do you have any left?
I still have those carter 2 barrel candy cane kick down levers .
@@MoparMan-ff8fb ok images and cost please I am interested. we working on a 1965 dodge dart you see on our chanel.
@@MoparMan-ff8fb are you seeing my message? images and price pleaase?
@@oconnorperformancecenter if your refering to the candy cane shaped lever that connects the trottle cable arm on the carb to the kick down linkage yes I still have those. Is yours a carter or Holley? 15.00 + shipping for the carter lever . I'm on Instagram with same name or Facebook for PM jeramiaha stiverson
@@MoparMan-ff8fb ok how much
That sounds nice! 2.5 inch muffler??
yes 2.5 pipe and 2.5 inlet out let on cherry bomb vortex mufflers . but now I have turn downs behind the mufflers

So the gasket seal plug will work on the taper plug head?
That is a 1969 Slant Six... It uses the exhaust manifold to heat the carb. with the small tubing still intact in the manifold. Also still has the exhaust pipe bracket that is found on '69 engines at the bellhousing area... I would KEEP ALL the carb. and BITS with your new prize! Keep YOUR options for future use unlimited... This kept as a WHOLE UNIT can repower many types of Mopars! Good luck with it!
Such a good and easy motor. It has found a good home with you I am sure. Good stuff.
Good score on that engine!
Day off from Misfits T shirt.. Mexicano Speciale is almost as good as any two Misfits T shirts.Nice offer, Mmmmm78.🥝✔️
Damn good work! Wish you were close by so you could join us on a Catskill Mountain cruise.
Good fix. Nice T- Shirt i have the same one
What time is dinner?
Last night unfortunately . had extra large beef franks roasted on the barbequer as well
Good lookin' truck !
Classic cars!!!
I did enjoy the video! My favorite part was doggo sniffing the lawnmower and making sure everything was right with it.
The video was not nearly long enough. I was looking for Danzig. I remember some joke about him being timed out. If anyone tries to take your tee shirt, I hope you put up a fight ..
In New Zealand, Moas are extinct. I know why, no gasoline.....🥝✔️ The dog seams normal and well adjusted to me.
I turned off our 96, went to start it 15 min. Later and nothing. Sometimes the electricity comes on with the key in the ignition, Sometimes nothing, not even headlights. I charged the battery and nothing changed. Any ideas? I will check the grounds. (Jeep was running fine prior to this)
check neutral safety switch . turn key to on position . have somone help you . put transmission into reverse and if back up lights come on ?
@@MoparMan-ff8fb reverse lights come on and I have noticed that shifting to different locations causes the power to come back on, occasionally
@@MoparMan-ff8fb I ordered a new nss. Will let you know how it turned out.
Looks like good stuff...Ill keep an eye out for it
RTV 25 made by general electric if you can find it will stop a gasoline leak while Ii is leaking I learned from my auto shop teacher siixty years ago in high school.
👍 Handy tip. Not much does seal gas tanks.
😎👍
Caant wait to see you driving it
Youll get it fixed up
Unless your running at high RPM, the factory exhaust is just fine.
Just to let you know they do both camber and caster by pulling one side in and the other out is how you adjust the caster... Nice repair on those hope you find a good guy that knows how to work with them and get you going striaght amd not wearing tires... Around me there are no shops that can do it... Thats why I do my own. All they know is modern cars.
Very hard to get high quality new stuff. Good idea on aluminum replacement door panels.
The cam bolts are a dissapointment and nobody including moog makes them right.. I would say PST or firmfeel for those but not cheap.. Moog today is total garbage they are using plastics in their ball joints and tie rods you must check the construction of the part everytime.... I rebuilt my 72 dart front suspension with the movotech premium ball joints all metal construction and have grease zerks. I have saved many cam bolts sets just cause I knew modern versions are crap welding does fix them but you shouldn't have to fix a new part!..strut rod bushing are a very important part, it keeps your caster in place I always use a polyurethane version no matter A B or C body mopar they can be shaved to dial in the caster if need be... I just did my own alignment on my 72 dart all poly bushings I have 1\4° positive camber and 2° of caster that is very good for a stock A body, mopars always need more caster the only time you back off on caster is if you want lighter steering on a manual box. When final tightening of the suspension fasteners it's best done with all four wheel down with the weight of the car... I use four old school metal ramps to make this easy...till I weld up a low lift frame rack I have planned for doing wheel alignments.
🥝✔️🙋
I've always been eccentric about nuts. Great to see you rejecting stuff that doesn't work. It's okay to mix and match if others don't do the job they shoulda
Its interesting to watch you cut down the seat! That will look good! I dont know if these will fit but check out the "leather" seats in a 2011 ford escape. Minus the head rest they are a nice low back bucket. Mine have almost 300 klms of daily use and they are in great shape( no rips)
The seats will look cool when finished
Good catch, that is really crap! Yup keep and fix your originals. Cut cost too.
Thanks for the content. I am looking for a project myself. Nothing fancy just something to tinker with. Love the old mopars for sure. Have a good one buddy.
I used The Right Stuff rtv gasket maker on both sides of oil pan gasket. Because in order to do the oil pan in my 74 charger i had to lift the motor, remove headers, steering linkage, starter, oil filter, and fan. Was a nightmare so i did everything to ensure a perfect long lasting no leak pan lol.
I just used the same paint on my old hooker headers from my 74 charger while i had them off to do the oil pan. How did it hold up? I plan to pre cure the paint somewhat with hair dryer or maybe even my large burner torch. I want to do an idle cure but don't know if i trust to let it idle that long since it hasn't been started in 4 years 😬.
All I did is let them dry = cute then started up engine and ran it for a little while let it cool down and have ran the engine ever since no issues
Great job Jeremiah! Nice and steady and it’s coming out great👍👍👍
I did a simlar thing too my buddys 89 dakota.... I put dodge mini van seats in it worked out well... Yours is coming along good.
Always liked the Elite Series... Man you do good work brother... 🇺🇸
