I’m a 32-year-old college student pursuing a career as a social worker. I would say Northeastern Illinois University should let me sing this at my graduation. And when I get my license, I’ll be crying over this nostalgic song. Mattel better do themselves a favor and bring these Barbie dolls and movies back. I listened to this song all summer after I graduated from high school. I’m still listening to this through college. As a social worker, I’ll listen to it and cry every time. Ugh the nostalgia.

In my opinion, this is much better than his reprise of Prince Ali, I didn’t even like the reprise anyway, I always found it to be “unworthy” of someone like Jafar, I also don’t really consider it a villain song, yes, it has the lyrics, but it’s just a reprise of a song that wasn’t written like a villain song, which is why I like this one better, it suits Jafar better, it’s just pure torment for the genie, it’s essentially Jafar’s version of Friend Like Me.

This is what it feels like to block out most of your childhood and then slowly start to remember things, KNOWING they happened, but it still doesnt feel like it they did. You see the flashbacks, but they almost feel like they arent yours. They're just bits and pieces of things you *almost* remember.

It's astonishing how swiftly time passes. Here I am, 26 years old in 2024, and this song fills me with incredible nostalgia, transporting me back to my childhood memories, especially those with my little cousin. The message of the song still resonates with me, especially now as I'm experiencing a quarter-life crisis. I miss the old Barbie and the classic Disney movies; life seemed so much simpler back then, and even now, I find myself yearning for those carefree days.

I’ve been feeling so horribly lonely and tired these past few years, it’s been so hard to do it all with no support. These past 3 years have been the hardest time of my life, I gave bits of myself to everyone and in the end when I needed someone nobody came forward, not even my own mom or dad who used to play this song to me when I was little to fall asleep… it’s crazy how much has changed, i miss the simplicity of my childhood. I’ve thought about ending my life many times. Tonight was one of those nights, and for some reason as I stared out the window debating of wether this should be my final moment, this melody came back to me, I don’t know why or how it’s been YEARS since i’ve heard this song but today it quite literally saved my life. I will forever cherish this song and hope that someday if I get the chance to be a mother I will sing this to my baby boy or girl😊
