My problem with this game is that it's too wordy. I tried to finish this game 3/4 times but the furthest I've gone is the beginning of act 3. I found their next game Tyranny, much better in this regard, straight to the point and simple in it's vocab. Although i really wanna play pillars 2, part of me feel like I'll be missing out on some detail for not finishing the first game first.

Just checked my game, last save was in 2018, in start of act 3 (did white march and killed a dragon and whole Stronghold dungeon) if I vaguely remember. I swear I will finish it one day a buy second one. And also baldurs gate 1 lol.

I like these videos without heavy spoilers, but I'd love them more if they had a starting level - end level aproximate 😊 I love when a module shows your character growing in strength

Whats wrong with turnbase on multiplayer? How else we play in table top?

Having played through "Swordflight" chapter two just once, I can say it is *deep* . And judging from screenshots on Lilura's review of the series, there is *so* much replayability to it, simply by choosing differently aligned paths, classes, or even races. Tons of content you don't even realize is there until you re-roll with a different race or class. Sure, the tilesets and music are the standards that come with the base game, but really this is a module all about game mechanics, whether that's mastering things you mentioned like UMD, or persuading your way through conversations. Yeah, it's not as atmospheric or plot driven as some other modules, with comparatively low to moderate world-building, but sometimes you want an old-school style hack and slash RPG, and the grinding is actually fun once you figure out the tactics that work for your build (or realize your build is crap and have to back up a few levels). There were more than a few times I found myself downright giddy from wading in with my HiPS assassin with a lich, azer blackguard and evil dwarven defender in tow, just tearing up ridiculous amounts of enemies.

That song is "The Lonely Shepherd" by Zamfir (a pan flute musician). Was used in "Kill Bill". As long as I'm commenting here, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the "Auren Saga" modules ("Almraiven" and "Shadewood"). I felt they were very different from a lot of NWN I've played (albeit my forays are not as wide ranging as yours; I played through the OC and SoU and a good chunk of HotU but once, multiclassing specifically to get all quests). "Auren Saga" felt very well-mannered to me, in that it was stingy with items, gold and XP, and there was much more focus on rich story and depth. I also liked having my own base of operations to work on non-combat activities. Another big bonus for me was the music - not only original, but very atmospheric, especially in the second module. The music for a scene with a vampire makes it downright blood chilling.

This was a nice module, but it is a shame that you cannot use the subraces in the original Neverwinter Nights campaign or in the 2 expansions.

its a great game, my only knock on it on the ps5 is its hard to read all the info, the text is pretty tiny

Solasta is such a great game, I love that fans went through the effort of making modules like this for it, even if the game isn't nowhere near as popular as NWN1 when it comes to user created stuff

My all time fav game. Not mentioned in this video, Beamdog was able to sell official mods sanctioned by Wotc/Hasbro until they pulled the license a few years ago. A real shame as this outstanding game should be better supported by the powers that be.

Nice channel, seems very underrated. As for Solasta 2, I have to agree with you. After closing on kickstarter for a mere 200k, it was insane how they managed to flesh this out as much as they could for a low budget. There are countless other games that used this stepping stones approach, can't blame them for not continuing to support it going into their next game. Hopefully they end up using the pathfinder 2e or 1e system in their next game as 5e is pretty bland for game progression as I've personally noticed from bg3.

I really enjoyed this game. I got a ton of hours of enjoyment out of it. I've been super happy that we have two really good solid dungeon and dragon games to play: Solasta and Balder's Gate 3. Each have their own strength and weaknesses but overall it's nice to have two solid fun games to play.

Any advice for a newcomer? Never really played a CRPG but I thought this looked pretty interesting. One of my biggest problems of getting outta my gaming comfort zone is that I give up once I hit a major block, and games like this can have a rough learning curve. Any advice is welcome 😁

Awesome to see NWN reviews from you again Turnsup, your reviews are always so professional! ^_^ Hopefully you received my message from awhile ago that my dark fantasy zombie apocalypse survival module Surviving Horror 1 REMAKE has finally been released. :P Oh, and I can't recommend the newly released module "The Monastery of the Saviour and its Dark Secrets" by Greendoor enough, it's actually become my number #4 all-time favorite (as seen in my list "Birger's NWN Recommendations" back on neverwintervault )! ^_^

Aielund Saga would have made a great campaign for the original game release. I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough.

Love to see you uploading again! A great review as always! I had played Aielund Saga 1 and 2 when i first finished the OC, SoU, and HotU, and thought they were decent modules (if overhyped and underwhelming). I agree that the world crafted here is interesting, if a little cliche and human-centric feeling (by that i mean it doesn't feel right playing as any other race in this world, unfortunately). However, I agree that the dialogue was very "edgy" and written with a prose that limited your choices. Chapter 1 was best in the series for roleplaying (and in general, in my opinion), as it gave you more choices and even alignment shifts. I was also not a fan of how many egregious grammatical errors and typos were present. It felt very amateurish, or like the author couldn't have cared less and didn't bother polishing and touching up any text in Chapters 1 and 2 for the Enhanced Edition. Compare this to something like Swordflight, a module series that is orders of magnitudes larger in scope and depth, yet rarely has any errors in text. I'll be playing Chapters 3 and 4 sometime later.

Is there an extensive mod list somewhere to better NWN1? I'm talking ui changes, bug fixes, texture packs, etc. I beat bg1 vanilla, plus most other crpg's, but this and NWN2 are so hard for me to get into. Mainly, the ui and controls.

I think the first 2 chapters are the best of the series. Once I got into the ending chapters with Epic Levels I found the campaign really just ground down to a slog. I still had an absolute blast playing through it!

A new NWN Module review? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! I always enjoyed the Aielund Saga, and it's nice to get a few of your thoughts on the first two acts here. :) It's a shame you don't upload more often or make longer videos, because I'm often left wanting more in-depth reviews/analysis of of community adventures. One of best game I have ever played

Its probably worth noting that Ossian didn't just clean up Tyrants of the Moonsea. The free version (unlike CToT and SoS) was unfinished, being only about a third of the game. The premium module has far more content. I also wouldn't call it a hack and slash module; its more like Baldur's Gate, it hasn't got as full a range of responsiveness as some modern RPGs, but there is a lot of story, character and lore there.

Any games recommended that have a similar exp/leveling system? Not to talk badly a out Baldur's gate or Pathfinder, but i like being able to talk my way out of things and still progress level wise. In Pathfinder, i have to be a murderhobo or suffer a slow leveling progression. Kingmaker i skipped several fights, and as a result, i maxed level in the last 5 mins of the run. Ps4 recommendations please. I know about Underrail's oddity xp, but I dont have a PC 😢

I started the game Flabbergasted by the first 2 hours of story With pain in my neck from the endless fucking whiplash from the story intro Returned the game.

I'm assuming you're on NWN EE and not the Diamond edition? I ask because I heard that Swordflight can be buggy and have issues with the enhanced edition. Thanks for the video!
