Thank you for this. My first attempt did not work, guessing I didn't push the cable far enough into slot. Tried again, and now works. The screws next to the lights and the button to push to open screen, do not need to come out. Figured that out on my second attempt. There ought to be a tipping option on here, so I could send you an actual thank you.

Main screen works, rear screen works, middle screen stays black but lights work. I've used two different replacement ribbons and still have a black screen. Do you have any idea on how to replace the USB cable?

Thank you thank you I have a trip to San Antonio coming up and I just used your Method and finished the installation and it works perfect my TV has been blacked out for years im super excited for the trip now and I took the unit to the dealer when it was under warranty and they did the same Method I seen alot of clips broken and plastic bent you got it thank you for helping all of us

How long did this fix last you before the replacement cable broke?

I'm about to attempt this myself - is the foil tape not necessary to replace like on the original cable? I would expect it would add strength, but maybe the thickness added creates stress areas?
