Discover Japan's natural beauty in one of it's most incredible prefectures
While many people around the world may know Japan is a country filled with natural beauty, they may not about the hidden treasure trove of natural beauty that makes up Miyagi prefecture. Through the JET program, I was blessed with the opportunity to live in Miyagi and discover some of the hidden gems in the region that I easily could have missed if I was just visiting. The JET Program allowed me to discover a new side of Japan that often isn’t seen, and make new friends along the way. In this video, I hope to share just a fraction of the natural beauty I discovered, and hopefully inspire you to come and visit one of Japan’s best kept secrets.
Just like I was given an opportunity to discover a new side of Japan, you can too! Here is a link to my video talking about what the JET Program is, and their website.

Kinda looks gross...but still..I would eat it...I LOVE SPLATOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!
Lol that's why I had to try them all as well XD if they didn't have Splatoon written on them, I probably never would have bought them.
All my Maneki Neko have the left paw raised, so I guess I am getting more customers even though I don't have a business 🤣
Maybe you're in the business of making friends ;D if you're not, start a non traditional business and start reaping the benefits.
That looks like a tatami mat. I wonder what the difference between a futon sheet or a zipper cover. I need to get a futon but I don’t know what to order. My concern is the weight and being able to get it out to the screen porch. Thanks for your informative video.
I'm glad it was helpful. In the video in the left corner you can see a non-sectional tatami that I use. That one is a little heavier, and closer to the ones I recommend in the description of this video. (And I think even better, I showed my wife's tatami in this video.) When folded, it's pretty easy for us to move, but I would depend on how much weight you are comfortable carrying around. We use two zipper sheet's for the tatami we use and find it nice so we just have to fold and unfold our tatami with minimal set-up the end of the day. I hope you find the perfect tatami for you :) let me know if I can offer any help.
Origami is my childhood I’m 15 now alter 7 years of doing paper and in 2021 I started origami and now in July 19 I’m too good at origami I can hard ones and cool tessellations I’m happy this is part of my childhood ❤😊 Heart my comment if you want I made origami tutorials on my channel too🎉

First time seeing the Hyottoko Mask in Kimetsu No Yaiba
I love that they used it in the anime :) after researching it and making this video I started noticing it a lot more here in Japan. Who's your favorite Kimetsu no Yaiba character? :)
@@DYCEQUIRK Inosuke because he's gap moe
I like the fox mask because of the Anime Demon Slayer But if im correct 🤔? There are more mask then those 4 A ogre mask ???
Yes, there are a lot of different Japanese masks. I had a few more I wanted to cover, but I wanted to get this video done by Halloween 😁 maybe in the future I'll make a part 2
Why are you doing it like that you unscrew the cap anti clockways not clockways like normal caps 😂😂
It depends where you buy them. Most of the USA has caps that are unable to be unscrewed in either direction :)
I love Japan!
That's awesome, what's your favorite thing about it :)
@@DYCEQUIRK Well are many things like their landscapes, food, language etc
@@Sirol_Loris There definitely is a lot to love :) Have you visited Japan before?
@@DYCEQUIRK No, Sadly
@@Sirol_Loris Do you plan to in the future? Depending on where you live, it could be pretty affordable right now :)
A decade ago to get the marble and save the bottle, I used a lighter to melt the plastic and my pocket knife to scrape the plastic away. I practiced safe knife handling and kept the blade away from my hand...except for the ONE TIME that I accidentally had it towards me, and my blade slipped, slicing right into my left hand's index knuckle, exactly where the radial artery runs through. It was a partially-serrated knife, so it wasn't exactly a clean cut, though my blade was still sharp. I bleed a good bit, took a while to heal with just a bandage application, and I've got a nasty scar...BUT I GOT THE MARBLE OUT!
I'm happy you got the Marble!! Also glad you healed up minus the scar, great memory and story though!! ( I think 😂 ) So what's your favorite flavor?
How about the Oni and Tengu mask? My fave is Kyuubi Kitsune
When I was originally making this video I really wanted to include them both, but they each had a lot of background and history, I couldn't find a good mask for each yet, and I wanted to get the video out for Halloween 😂 I definitely should try to make a part two and include those.
Knowledge and a skit? Amazing, subbed.
Thanks man :) I am really hoping to get more videos out again soon. Works just been rough XD thank you for the sub and I hope I can continue to put out videos that you enjoy and find informative :)
I want an electric drum kit in my room but I've ran out of space, that's why I'm here hahah.
It definitely is a great way to save space. And takes like 20 seconds to fold up XD so I'd definitely recommend it :) just make sure you get one thick enough for your needs.
Thank you for teaching us the meanings of these masks!! Yours was the first video on the topic i watched, after having a random dream last night about Japanese masks. I feel like I understand why I had the dream more now after learning about them.
My favorite one was the one you couldnt stop calling creepy!! 😂 My least favorite was the terrifying one you loved so much 😂 The Woman one represents the best things one could hope for. Good fortune, happy couple, protection from bad spirits, and she defends the vulnerable women. ❤ The mask also looked beautiful to me. The fox was is great too, with its help in manifesting dreams and also fertility.
Thank you so much for checking out the video!! Lol also I'm glad you like the Okame mask XD I have it hanging up in my living room and it still creeps me out XD
@@DYCEQUIRK 🤣🤣 I can understand. I will actually be searching for these masks to hang on my wall as well, and I know they will all probably creep me out a bit, but they do carry good reminders. Your favorite mask reminds to keep emotions in check or else! Lol
Thank you very much!!! This is so helpfull for me to learn many languages writing
Your welcome! I'm so glad it was helpful! :) are you trying to learn Japanese? What motivated you?
@@DYCEQUIRK Well well, Im planning on future to go to Japan, And start a new trip! On my life, And also, To study.
Trying this drink for the first time tomorrow so wanted to do a bit of research learned some nice facts including it having a marble in it
Thank you for checking out the video! :) I hope you enjoyed it! 😊
I don't believe the his-story behind the Japanese drink... You are saying that the drink originated in Scotland is like me believing in the tooth fairy.
XD it really did. :) lots of physicians at the time made beverages to help with different ailments and this one happened to be made by a Scottish pharmacist XD I was just as surprised as you are.
Rather informative. Thanks mate 👍
No problem! Thank you for checking out the video! :)

I bet you 85% of the viewers are holding a ramune and trying every method your saying (im the 85%)
Lol I imagine so, I just hope your not one of the 3ish percent that get hurt XD please be careful! Also, what flavor did you get?
At 11:06 I thought you were holding a massive bamboo bong 😂
Lol no, I was just using a piece of bamboo as a walking stick XD didn't have a costume for Halloween and our neighbor invited us over for a Halloween party with their kids XD so I put that together real quick.
Nice
Thanks :)

Hyokotto is a fun mask so No1 Then Kitsune, Hanna and Okame. Would love to see the video of the Tengu mask and maybe Oni masks
Yeah, I'd really like to make one on the tengu and Oni as well :) we'll see what the future holds!
Bodhidharma - was a prince from India who left his royalty and followed buddhism. He then traveled to east - where he was known as Visitor from the West. He was one of the important figure in Shaolin temple and popularized Zen form of Buddhism.
Thanks for adding more background info ;D

I love the kitsune mask
It is really nice looking!
I'm literally watching the One Piece scene now, and it makes it so much better now that you explained the meaning behind the mask, Thank you for the lesson. I was originally looking for info for a story I'm writing but the more you know the more you can enjoy I guess
Thank you so much for the comment, and it is definitely so true. The more you understand, some of the background references made by Oda and other authors, the more you can enjoy their creations. Learning more about these masks gave me a new perspective and appreciation for different things in anime. Hopefully I'll be able to make more videos like this one soon. I'd really like to, but you know how life is, so busy XD
Hey, it was right eye of daruma, not left

Why is it when I type a word in English, hiragana characters which sound completely different show up? For example if I type aka, hiragana characters that sound completely different to "aka' come up?
Can you tell me what really does pop up when you type in aka?
I have one that's only about an inch thick. It's so stiff that it totally negates the plushness of the 4 inch folding mattress i put underneath 😂 Watching this video to confirm I'm justified to splurge on a 4inch futon!
Yeah, when my wife and I bought our first one, which is the 3 section one I used in the video, I quickly discovered I needed a thicker one XD so I bought the black one you can see in the upper left corner of the video XD I hope you get a nice one!! :)
Hannya is just so cool
I agree :) still haven't been able to get one for my own collection, but plan to!
@@DYCEQUIRKthey called oni
That's true, Oni is like the Big category and Hannya is a more specific sub category for this specific mask :)
@@DYCEQUIRK it look so much like one mask(:
I don't see a Japanese futon
The futon you see in the video is one type used by families here in Japan today. On the upper left corner you can see the "non-sectioned" futon we also own. Even more people use that type of futon, which I probably should have used instead of this sectioned one for the video, but I assure you. Most families in Japan use one of these two types currently. Many families also use western style beds as well. If you'd like the much older version which is used by a smaller group of people in Japan or at ryokan, yes those are different from these. Having said that all three would still be a Japanese futon.
Thank you so much ❤
Your welcome! I hope it's been useful! Are you using it to study? For work?
I always wonder what happens to them if your goal fails or changes
So glad we could share that info with you! When I first learned about them I was curious as well XD
What does it mean???😢😢😢
They translated American coffee as weak coffee. XD I just thought it was pretty funny. It basically was supposed to be an Americano, but instead of just translating into English as Americano they said week coffee. In Japanese it's literally sounded out almost exactly like Americano too, so it feels more like a dis for them to translate it like that XD
