A round trip through 16th Street Mall from the intersection with Wynkoop Street to the pedestrian plaza of the Millennium Bridge. Downtown Denver. A bicycle lane runs parallel to a bus lane, both being separated from the lane dedicated to cars. However, there are drivers, pedestrians, and even cyclists who dare to break the rules by getting in the way and putting others at risk. In this video, I present some examples while cycling through the city of Denver. The same day, in less than an hour!

Is the bike lane still open in the winter? Seems stupid if it is.

You know that 99% of cyclists will ignore the light, right?

Here in Colorado, by law, red lights are like a Stop for cyclists. You just stop and, if safe, just cross. And, BTW, I do not know where your statistics comes from.

Here in Denver, car drivers are the worst . “Between Jan. 1 and Dec. 10, 2023, CSP troopers issued 1,991 citations to people who ignored traffic control devices, 14.4% more than the 1,740 issued during the same period in 2022.” kdvr.com/news/local/csp-colorado-drivers-increasingly-running-red-lights-stop-signs/amp/

Wait, that green path on the side of the road is a BIKE LANE?!? I just thought it was for green cars. I mean, I've driven on it plenty and no one complained.

Bikers cut in front of cars, cut thru moving cars, ignore all rules of the road and hit people, knocking them over. You want me to give a fuk? Too bad, learn to ride your bicycle.

When I was racing, spent a week in Boston back in 94. Stayed on 4 Comm Ave. Rode everywhere since I was getting ready to go to Switzerland to race. Loved it. Back then no bike lanes, only cat-like reflexes.

Man, who designed that. Totally sketchy. Also, why the safe hit bollards? safe hit on a pole, deadly hit on a cyclist. So nothing is really protected

Thanks for your comment! Not physically protective, I agree. However, there are not many viable things to be done (given the costs and geometry of the road and the current state of affair) to prevent someone who loses control of the vehicle for x or y reason and jumps over some "protective" barrier in a lane that runs parallel and at the same level. of the road. Unless it's a wall. At least they serve in a minor or major way as a deterrent mechanism. Bollards could alert drivers and cyclists of the existence of hazard. I am not a racing or competitive "cyclist." Much of the bike activity here on neighborhood streets in the immediate downtown Denver area is for commuting to work, school, and daily errands. You can easily distinguish "cyclists" from "bicyclist" like me. And believe me, we ride more confidently in bike lanes with visual barriers like these than those merely demarcated by a line painted on the pavement. Even though there is a chance that a driver will jump or take away the bollards. May be is a delusion. 😃

I was in Denver last month. Cool city. I noticed lots of homeless people especially near Union Station and the smell of pot was everywhere. The rickshaws were interesting. They ride pretty aggressively! Look out! Don't get in their way! Also, please leave off the soundtrack. Let us hear the sound of Denver's hussle and bussle.

This is a very nice video and seems to be a very nice path. I like that the path, aside from some intersections is a separated bike path, not a gutter. A car would have a tough time getting up on the path. Unfortunately, it just seems to run along some parks and residential neighborhoods. Yes, I like to ride my bike through pleasant, scenic places, but that is the least of my concerns. I want to be able to ride my bike to work, to school, to the grocery store, etc. Obviously, Atlanta has a long way to go for bike paths.
