    Ha! I was expecting something a bit more dangerous to happen ;) Watching that thing crawl towards the ramps on the table reminded of me of an incident that I had at a previous job. I was a laborer for a plumbing company, and my boss wanted me to wash mud off one of the 'small' Kubota excavators (I think it weighed 12,000 LBs or so.) Anyway, while I dragged out the hose and pressure washer, another one of the laborers pulled the trailer out of the shop that the excavator was on, using an old GMC pickup dump truck. He left it parked out in the lot, attached to the trailer, and he went off to do something else. I dropped the trailer ramps, started up the excavator, got it unchained, and then I started driving it towards the ramps, with the bucket facing towards the back of the trailer. What I did NOT know, because I didn't bother to check, was that the other laborer had used the WRONG hitch when he pulled the trailer out. The trailer was set up with a ring for a pintle hitch, but he had used a regular BALL hitch, and had simply put the ring around it! So when I reached a certain point near the end of the trailer, the rear ramps flipped up, and then the front of the trailer picked itself up off of the truck, and flipped up in the air! At the same time, the excavator tilted forward at an extreme angle, and the arm and bucket passed through the gap between the two ramps, and the bucket came to rest on the ground. There was no damage done to the trailer or excavator, but man, did it scare the CRAP out of me! And it happened so fast, there was no time for me to react. I immediately shut off the excavator, carefully got off, and I ran inside to get my boss. He hopped on it, and by carefully extending the arm forward, while reversing the excavator at the same time, he was able to get the trailer to set back down on the hitch. I definitely learned my lesson that time. ALWAYS verify that the trailer is properly attached the vehicle before you drive something heavy off of it :P Watching your video, I was expecting the dozer to get on the ramps, then see the back end of the table flip up, as the ramps dropped to the floor with the dozer still on them. But that table must weigh more than I though :)

    • @chopperhedduck
      @chopperhedduck Před 3 lety

      Wowsers, that there is the reason to keep a spare set of underwear in your emergency kit. The reason the table didn't flip up is I added legs to the end of the table that the ramps slot into. I try to think these things out ahead of time.

    • @chopperhedduck
      @chopperhedduck Před 5 lety

      The bushings are DOM steel tubing. The bolts are grade 8 and have more than enough strength for the job. I left lots of room to allow for wear. . the 3/8 bolts can be drilled out to half inch, and new bushings made to fit. The sprockets have lots of meat to go to a 3/4" OD bushing if required. As is, the sprockets are sized to fit standard double npitch attachment chain if needed.
