Can someone help me out? What's the song playing at 11:49? It's a smash song, right? But i can't remember what it is. It's driving me crazy.
That doesn't look like the same game anymore! Amazing what you've done. The question is why couldn't a team of people do this?
I hate this song and the way people keep posting it acting as if companies hiring modders is a joke. Bitch did you hear about a little company called valve? Sonic mania everyone? Render 96? Oh you were too busy playing all 3d stars right?
Im extremely thankful i cant tell the difference between 30 and 60fps
why is nobody talking about dire dire docks song
Good luck getting 60fps from an n64
hahahaha "wich means vrooom vrooom!!!" great work!
I'm interested, what are the trade-offs for these optimization? Would the new source code not fit on the cartridge, or is it "simply" modern discoveries and attention to performance which technically could have been done at the time?
all of these make the ROM smaller, so this would use a bit less space than the original mario 64. sm64 needs about 7.7mb of storage, with this rewrite it'd likely be around 7.4mb. Most games are poorly written, not just sm64. i'd guess most games could be made near identical while having 2x the framerate. it's just not economic to put in all the effort of actually doing that most of the time. plus you need a lot of coordination within programming teams, between artist and programmers and with the designers even. and then you also need people willing to actually work with an optimized codebase.
Better then the norm super mario run.
A little too hype
can you make a super mario 3d WORLD rom hack with your faster sm64
Are Lyndon B. Johnson’s harder with these optimizations?
We got "super mario geometry dash" on N64 before GTA 6 💀
it's actually a recreation of the app "super mario run". but yea, still counts
How they haven't sued you yet?
this deserves better music
cant even draw square
cant even find undo
I tried to play this on the project 64 emulator, but it won't get past the title screen. Does anyone know what the issue can be behind this?
Would it be feasible to use the folded polynomial, but hard code values with very high inaccuracy values? I watch these videos purely for fun and haven't actually tested anything, but I'm curious if this could work. I know there may be some problems when it comes to the sin cos 1 identity and potential continuity, but was wondering if there are huge repercussions.
When homebrew cart for 64 players?
Autism can be a superpower
Bruh. I haven't seen the "You are an idiot" vid in like 20 years. Where in god's name did you find that and run it on Windows 11?!
Interestingly Unity engine uses almost exclusively 32bit floats in its physics and graphics pipeline, even though most targets have had native 64bit support for a decade. 64bit floating point operations are just slower, usually much slower, even today. The difference in precision rarely matters and it's usually better to work around the precision limitations that to brute force it with wider data types.
if counting the Title Screen & Star Appear jingles, the only other music track that's missing from this compilation video is at the beginning when Bowser crashes into the scene and he steals the Grand Ztar! The music that plays at that point is Super Mario 3D World's World Bowser!
Just to let you know, 8bit, 16bit and 64bit had nothing to do with the color regarding consoles and had been something that people kept confusing since regarding computers it was regarding the colors. The bit for consoles was actually regarding the CPU, for example SNES and Turbo Graphix 16 had a 16 bit CPU. N64 had a 64bit CPU, NES and Sega had an 8bit CPU.
Yeah, that section is there because people kept talking about "X bit graphics". even now you can still see people make jokes about that
@@KazeN64 it was a common mistake that was made especially growing up as a kid in the 80s . I was playing Arcade games, consoles and computer games back then and even though the bit wasn't specified in consoles so much. With computers at the time it was specific with color. Even now if you were to do a fresh install of windows and not have the driver for the video card installed on a computer today. It would appear with 8bit or 16 bit color unless they changed it with windows 11. 256 color was a huge deal back in the 80s/90s and made a huge difference that stayed in place for so many years. Personally I feel the Turbo Graphix 16 was the most underrated console of it's time. Not only was it the first to utilize CDs when you attached the accessory to it but it's the only one in which the basic cartridge for it was also compatible with it's mobile console the Turbo Express.
Yeah i give up im gonna find your... oh wait ip is useles... what you gonna do with my internet provider s location? Cant know ammonia
Nitpicking mode on: "C was a rather new language". In 1996? Come on. It was released in the 70's in Bell Labs, so it was two decades old at that time. Doom (93) and Wolftenstein (92) was released in years prior, both written in C too. Love this btw <3
dio cane
holy shit, kupogames supports this channel? thats really cool man
OMG THATS SO COOL
Is this rendition of Slider available anywhere outside of videos of this map?
Cool
The framerate needs to be increased WITHOUT INCREASING THE FREQUENCY OF THE GAME! You can have it run at the same original speed, and not have things like the music and animations happen faster than they are supposed to compared to the original game, just increase the framerate but keep the speed of everything like it was on the N64! It Can be done, they just don't know how, OR, are just lazy, which is Pathetic! This, is not true 60fps, it's like Zelda OOT. You Do NOT increase the frequency and make things move faster, just to increase frame rate! Total B/S!
You need to go back in time and get a job at Nintendo in the late 80s/early 90s.
There's something incredibly amusing about the stat display in the game's font 4:44
It’s nice to see Mario exercising his Second Amendment rights as a true Italian American
Reminder: the possibilites of just a combination of 2 bits for every bit Is the sum of the assigned numbers to bits. Basically, a factorial bit for addition Its 1+2+3... You get it. And 4 bits is an nightmare. Especially in minecraft.
This could show a lot of modern game developers a bit on how to make games a bit smaller. EFFICIENT CODING!
why are you letting star count and star icon to be so low quality? Can you make it look better and less rigid? In every single video your star count stays exactly the same
i haven't had a good idea on how to improve it yet. i'm kind of stuck with the original n64 resolution for HUD elements, since otherwise they won't render fine on N64.
@KazeN64 maybe i am blabbering some nonsense here, but try to maybe lower the size of icons you use...Place holders for the hud icons expects a certain size for example, you can than use a better looking, polished hud icon that is smaller than the OG size that n64 expects This will result in a smaller hud, but functional one...I did something similar in a totally different environment and it worked, but its hardly related to n64 and rom modding that you do Thanks for the answer, mister Kaze, i am really looking forward to this game, it really looks promising!
@@stfustfu7765 ideally i would make new HUD icons and i agree maybe 12x12 will look better. but in the end i'm still limited to having icons that are super pixelated, unless i want to render them different between emulator and n64.
@KazeN64 I mean, you are the best on the market, when it comes to C coding in n64...Its probably the best to let you do your thing, on a side note, i can not find any info about the release date of your game Its a pretty boring question, i know, you have so many things to fix and optimize, but do you have any idea when it can potentiality launch? And have you thought about revisiting mods like Oddysey for sm64, to upgrade the moveset (there is a modder that made a complete code for the oddysey moveset for sm64 ex coop), and maybe add better camera angles and stuff? As i already said, your projects are insane, the only thibg holding them back is this slight polish they are craving for...Incredible pieces of software, that lack just a tad bit to be 100% perfect.
@KazeN64 i posted a lot of questions on your channels recently, but i am very excited and passionate about your projects, its expected that most of the things you do are not revealed yet, you never know what might come out as wrong, but i have to ask basically.... Thanks for all the responses, i really appreciate time and care you put in your videos and replies to your fanbase, wish you all the best Kaze, cheers!
YOU MUST FIGHT WITH HONOR!
You are a real German
This looks like a pain in the ass to see where you're going.
Can't forget Sony trying to one-up Nintendo in 2000, by developing the 128bit Emotion Engine for the PS2, which only ran at only 295Mhz with just 32MB of memory. Of course the PS2 was legendary, but again, MOAR BITS == MOAR SALES !!!
What. Clearly i dont know math.
What. WHY SINE im pretty sure the "sin" ancronym is intentional. I cant confine it to a function or equation. I did with some calculus functions, but not trig. Trig hurts me.
The final FPS will be 1
Nah i aint doing allat, imma use (n-2)*180 / 2
1:54 nah, pi*x/180 works better for smaller numbers of sine.
1:54 is that taylor? Pls no.
What is sine. Nobody knows, the math records didnt survive. We have it on our calculators, but we dont know how it works, we just know there answers...
