AVOID Covid19 with this key!
Stay safe with this easy to make key! Here is how I forged it out of steel but it should be very easy to do with aluminium! Definitely a nice way to use your workshop. Make them for others! Help against #covid19 :) DIY solutions have always been the best. And wash your hands! :D
As you can see I made a double hook in this key instead of just a normal one. This helps to reach tight spacers or handles. Also the thumb support is great when you are pushing. And definitely it is super easy to hold hanging in your pocket, so it's not a pain to grab it to open something! Very easy to use.
This is a great homemade gadget to avoid touching handles or knobs that might have been infected. Good for drawers, buttons and switches also! Anyway disinfect it regularly as frequently as you wash your hands to avoid cross-contamination!
Let me know if you would have done something differently!

My 2x72 Belt Grinder from Scrap
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 4 lety
I was tired of my cheap belt sander stopping whenever I pushed anything against it so I got serious!. I improvised this 2x72 belt grinder mostly with scraps and parts I had laying around. (I did buy the belts though :D) As it was totally improvised, I didn't follow any drawings, just checked other belt grinders on youtube. That is probably why I fail a few times during the process. I did plan a...
Demolition Hammer Restoration
zhlédnutí 5KPřed 4 lety
I had this rusty cross peen hammer laying around and it was mainly used to bust concrete floors. It was covered in dirt and the handle was just a poorly crafted branch. Time to change that! It seems to be very good steel, so I decided to give it a new life and try a proper tool restoration! I cleaned the faces and built a new handle with the help of my friends Fran and Sergio (Thanks guys!) the...

I've always been fascinated by these arabic/islamic patterns ever since I saw them in Alhambre when I was a kid. They are super interesting on lattice work, as they create a great see-through effect. I wanted to make a cabinet with something like this so here it is!. Creating the vector version of this geometry was a very interesting challenge and in the end the design turned out great! I always thought that stabbing ice blocks was not very safe as they are quite slippery, so it is better to have some hammering action behind the icepick! specially if it is the DiResta icepick! What better than a tiny drill powered jackhammer! :D Also, all materials used are recycled/reclaimed parts or scraps, it is always nice to hack them into something great! I've become curious about lathes for turning wood and working with metal - would it be reasonable to just jump in with a metal lathe and use it for both? I don't want to buy two machines if the metal lathe does what I would need.

@Cactus!Workshop Young man you do outstanding work! I'm deeply impressed, I don't get impressed easily and it rarely happens. Anyhoo I'm going to make some stools like this, so will you please tell me what kind of metal rod you used for the legs (or whatever it's called). Also, why didn't you just heat the rod with a torch, and then bend it? I think that's how I'm going to bend mine, hence it works on bending/shaping a horseshoe 🤷‍♀️. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching your skills, you're very cool, stay that way, thank you again, and I look forward to hearing from you 🤘

That looks like it does the opposite of what a fume extractor is supposed to do which is keep the fumes from your face. Your design seems to pull the fumes into your face. My fume extraction pulls the fumes to the side away from my face and the design is very simple and not a ridiculous and complicated science experiment.
