There is a town that the Bible mentions called Jericho, and most people have heard of Jericho. "Joshua fought the battle of Jericho, and the walls came tumbling down." Not long after Jericho is another town called Ai. As the Israelites were preparing to go into Jericho, God warned Joshua. God told him to tell the people all of the gold and silver is God's. He was very specific, telling Joshua to tell the people don't look at the gold and silver; don't take it.
Joshua sent some spies to check out Ai. It was just a little town, so Joshua saw no need to send a bunch of troops to overtake them. He just sent 2,000 or 3,000 men. Ai should have been an easy victory, but the Israelites got there, and they started running back to Joshua. Thirty-six people were killed.
Joshua goes before God, and questions Him? Why didn't we have victory? God explained that Israel had turned their backs on God; they'd some of the things that God had told them not to. God tells Joshua, and Joshua tells the people, "You cannot stand before your enemies until you remove the things that are under the ban from your midst, "
Sharon doesn't like admitting it, but sometimes she wants God to be like a genie. When she gets in trouble, she says, "God, come help me." When she gets in a bad situation, she cries, "God, deliver me from this!" While those are both good and fine prayers, Sharon questions whether she might be in those troubling situations because she's held onto things that God has told her to get rid of. Is she harboring bitterness for someone? Is she angry with someone? Is she losing her temper?
Sharon says she can't hold onto a wrong attitude. Hating someone and saying she loves God isn't compatible. Sometimes we're just like Joshua. We run to God asking why this is happening. Sometimes we need to take a self-inventory to find out what things we are holding onto that God is telling me to let go of.

Why Does God Allow Pain?

Why does God Allow Pain? People often wonder why God allows bad stuff to happen to us. They wonder why this life hurts so much. It may not be true for everyone, but for me, it took a whole lot of pain for God to get my attention. I became a Christian when I was eight. Do you find you run out of power? Or do you have an awesome lithium battery bank and several solar panels? Will people get mad if you need to run your generator in dispersed camping? I mean for like an hour a day to charge our batteries. We just got our RV about 6 months ago. We've been camping at site with hookups so far. But would like to try dispersed camping one day. That is a gorgeous spot you found!

@@laus7504 We upgraded our solar, so we have 8 panels on the roof of our trailer and 2 400 amp hour lithium batteries. We don't run out of power. People will be fine if you run your generator during the day. With dispersed there is nothing that says you have to ever turn it off, but you won't be really popular if you run it nonstop. In campgrounds, you'll often have certain hours when you can run it.
