How to Use the Russell Chest Seal
The proper technique for applying the Russell Chest Seal, a hydrogel-based dressing designed to cover penetrating chest wounds and facilitate lung re-inflation, as demonstrated by an experienced EMT.
How to apply the Russell Chest Seal:
1. Remove the Russell Chest Seal from its packaging.
2. Carefully unfold the pre-folded chest seal.
3. Peel off the clear backing to expose the adhesive hydrogel base.
4. Position the centre of the gauze directly over the penetrating chest wound.
5. Firmly press down on one side of the chest seal to ensure proper adhesion.
6. While maintaining pressure on the applied side, press down the other side of the seal to prevent shifting.
7. Double-check that the chest seal is securely adhered on all sides.
8. Monitor the wound and valve function through the semi-transparent panel on the chest seal.

Thanks mate, this plaster method is absolutely wicked
Or just put it on the way everybody knows?
no
Okay your choice but I don’t get why you do in that way
@@IpekTheGymnast The method shown in the video aims to provide a better fit by preventing creases and ensuring the plaster stays secure, especially on the finger tip. This technique can be particularly useful for active individuals or those who need a more durable solution. We understand that everyone has their preferred methods, and we’re just sharing a tip that many might find helpful. 😊 Feel free to try it out and see if it works better for you!
Scissors???
You must be joking.
Pimple patches have 0.5% to 2% salicylic acid Blister patches have 15 to 20% salicylic acid

This is a band aid not a plaster
Band-aid is a brand of adhesive bandages. The plaster in this video is a Steroplast-branded adhesive bandage. In the UK we call them 'Plasters'.
That isn’t even the brand of “Band-Aid”. It’s just an adhesive bandage.
@@JunieJunkie You're right! It is not the brand of Band-Aid - it is the brand of Steroplast. The type of product is what we call a plaster in the UK, but in the US you would call it a band-aid because although Band-Aid is the name of a brand, it has also become a generic term for an adhesive bandage.
It still hurt
😢🤮🤮🤮🤮
are you okay?
thanks for this
When should we change thr dressing
Hi Yash! Great question. Change the dressing when it becomes wet or dirty to prevent infection. If it stays clean and dry, changing it every 24 to 48 hours initially to check on the wound's progress is a good rule of thumb. As healing progresses, and if there's no sign of infection, you might extend the time between changes. Always consult healthcare advice for specific situations. Thanks for watching!
i think i coughed too hard or got a debree that i rubbed with my hands thats explains why my eye is bleeding rn😅
What is bandage name tell bro pls
It's our Steroplast Premum Elastic Fabric Plasters. They are Which recommended for their stickiness, durability and affordability: www.steroplast.co.uk/first-aid-products/premium-elastic-fabric-plasters-assorted.html
If I measure a temperature on the forehead it reads 36.6 °C but if I ask the boy to open the mouth and read the temperature there it's 38.3 °C in his throat. I clearly think he's running a fever, but can the metering give a wrong / too high temperature, because I pick it from the back of the mouth?
If you're using a regular (not infrared) thermometer, ensure it's placed correctly under the tongue for oral readings. Oral temperatures are usually higher than forehead ones and can indicate a fever if above 38°C. Double-check by measuring again, especially if using it after eating or drinking. If the temperature remains high, it could be a sign of fever. If you're still unsure, consult a medical professional if needed!
Tilt the chin up to maintain a good airway 😉
Perfect to hide my self harm
if anything that's just gonna draw more attention
Don’t use a plastic disposable pen it will break. So will a pencil. Maybe a metal pen would work and you might get lucky with a sharpie marker like the video.
No one has ever cut themselves that way 😂
Speak for yourself
yeah, instead i used a wire cutter
What? No gloves?
I searched up how to do sh without feeling a bunch of pain.
I'm not going to ask are you okay because you're clearly not, but all I'm going to say is that you'll stop one day. ❤ Whether it is soon or in a little while, you'll eventually stop I promise.
I'm going to add that if you haven't started then don't. As tempting as it may be, once you've started it is incredibly hard to stop.
People with body hair:👽
It worked👍
I’m a nurse in my school classroom this really helps because I wanna be a real doctor so this helps me thanks!
In the military they usually just teach you to place it 4 inches above the wound. And if the wound isn’t visible, Just place the tourniquet at the top of the arm, or leg and quickly tighten the tourniquet and write down the time as soon as the tourniquet is placed. This is pretty similar and a great explanation for people learning how to make a tourniquet.
You literally just showed a painful removal.
🙌
I got a bounce ball on my eye it got affceted bcz of air 😢😢
