Occam's UTVs: Fuel Customs Clutch Case
zhlédnutí 534Před 6 lety
I finally had it with my stock polaris clutch housing. It's a pain in the ass to get off when you need it to, often have to remove the shock from the trailing arm just to get the clutch cover off. This is not a good solution in the garage at home or especially on the trails! It just adds another step to having to replace a belt unnecessarily. This is an installation of a Fuel Customs Red Clutch...
Occam's UTVs: RZR Starting Issues? Just Clicking? Try starting off the solenoid
zhlédnutí 85KPřed 7 lety
From experience, several times I've gone to start my RZR, and all I get are clicks. Sometimes you can hear the fuel pump and accessories turn on, sometimes all you get are clicks and nothing. There are a few methods to troubleshooting this. First and foremost make sure that you've checked the most obvious thing, your fuse box. Sometimes fuses are blown and don't even necessarily look like it. R...

Occam's RZR: So I wanted to expand my 2 seater RZR 900 Trail to accomodate for the whole family. Being too cheap to go out and buy a RZR-4, I looked to this option of installing a rear cage and back seat / bench for the kids. This is a quick install video I did, the whole thing took about an hour.
WIP: Occam's UTVs: Wide Door Kit, UTV Giant Lower Doors and Pro Armor Inserts
zhlédnutí 1,1KPřed 7 lety
Work in progress - I remove the stock 900 Trail doors which have no curve to them and are not comfortable to rest your knee on, with a brand new polaris wide door kit. This kit will add about 2" to each side given the curvature. To these doors I add UTV Giant Lower Door kit, and ontop I put on the Pro Armor door insert/pad kit. I've got most of the installation, the only challenge was having to...
Occam's UTVs: Review of STI HD5 & HD6 Wheel Caps - Full Coverage 4/137-4/156 Red

Couple of tips and taking a look at installing these wheel caps and the beadlocks for the HD5 STI wheels, which also apparently work on the HD6 as well. The main benefit to using these are the complete coverage - it also covers the lugs. I had a bit of an issue with an inside spring which I explain. Otherwise quick and easy snap-on installation. Passes the easiest answer test.
Occam's UTVs: Exhaust Gasket Failure: @ Windrock Trail 50 3/11/17
zhlédnutí 248Před 7 lety
Trail 50 has been pretty washed out, the normal path I take is the hard right, but the rain has eroded much of the mud I had usually gotten up on. I stopped and tried to pull forward, a little over 6000 rpm, then the cab filled with smoke. We thought it was the tire at first, then perhaps the belt, but after we carefully backed down a bit to the flat area I realized it was the exhaust gasket. E...

We take Trail 39 basically from up by Windmills, through some beautiful terrain, rivers and waterfalls all the way out to G6. Simple alternative way to break a beadlock from a tire when you're in a shop setting specifically for UTV/ATV's. While these are beadlock tires, this trick will also work for tires that are not beadlock.

      Hi Pam, they are absolutely worth it. It did not make the machine noticeably tippier. It does not make it more top heavy, it actually adds weight to the rear of the machine giving you better traction with your rear tires. One adult size teen would absolutely fit back there, two would be difficult. I had both my Young kids 9 and 7 back there with plenty of room. That having been said, I upgraded to an XP1K4 recently, and I've parted out this whole 900 project. If you're interested, I'm selling the entire UTVMA kit, only used a handful of times. PM me if you're interested, I have a link to the rzrforums.net listing I've had up to sell it. I would have kept this for sure if I hadn't have upgraded to a XP1k.

    • @adamlake2007
      @adamlake2007 Před 7 lety

      Absolutely, it's something you can fix yourself. And if you have a good enough relationship with your dealership they might be able to work something out parts-wise for you. One way we were able to test whether or not it was the sway bar links was parking the vehicle, then rocking it side to side from the back right where it was coming from (pulling down and pushing up the cage bar). It would make that noise over and over whenever we did that. Took quite a lot of pressure but it was easily reproduce-able.

    • @adamlake2007
      @adamlake2007 Před 7 lety

      FWIW, and if I were you, upgrade the sway bar while you're at it. It's not a big expense, it takes 15 minutes to do, and could really give you some more roll play. Most will come with new links too, like Eibach for example. Walker Evans has some new shock links which look cool, not sure if they're compatible though. Let me know how it turns out!
