I'm one of the 300 this year, I guess. What makes it very rare. I wasn't trying. I am 45. I thought I was going through menopause. I was DARN SURe. I was very wrong. Not only was I shocked.. i got the other shock that I was having twins..and then another shock that i was having a rare form of twins.
I had momo twins. The inpatient stay was difficult because I had two kids already. It was scary!
Rule #3 did it for me..

Hi, I was curious, at your 7 week ultrasound is when they knew it was mono mono?
Yes! They were able to tell at the 7 week ultrasound because there was only one yolk sac and the two heartbeats were VERY close together. Normal twins tend to have two sacs and the heartbeats aren't all that close together. They were then able to give the final confirmation at my 14week with my MFM that there was for certain no slim membrane dividing the two but we were a case that was very apparent even before then as many MoMos are.

How much did the boys weight and how long did they have to stay in the NUCI?
@@TheMzkendra The boys each weighed just under 4 pounds and were in the NICU for 1 month just growing & feeding. They were born with an APGAR of 9 out of 10 and only one baby needed supplemental oxygen for three hours and then the rest was smooth sailing for the most part!
Just found out my wife is pregnant with Mono mono twins. She's 13.5 weeks and handling it like a champ. They are just so active in there and entanglement is terrifying. Hope your little ones are thriving 🙏🙏
Brad Smith They’re doing great! And hang in there Brad, the best thing my husband did was show me no fear, encouraged me to celebrate, and insisted that they were going to make it. It was tough on him too but him doing that boosted me up and made me way less nervous/sad.

Thank you for sharing. I am 21 weeks and found out two weeks ago I’m having twins. Today I found out I’m having mono mono and the doctor explained all the high risks of what can happen and honestly it just ruined my entire day. I cried all day. Started to blame myself for being depressed for 4 months or for not eating as healthy or for crying too much in my first trimester due to stress. But seeing you and this video gave me hope. I love my baby girls and there’s nothing I want more than to see them healthy, strong, and alive!!!! Moving forward I’ll be monitor every weeek and I’ll be admitted in the next 3 weeks. I’m currently seeking for a different OB doctor. I just don’t understand why do they wait so long to do an official ultrasound? We could’ve caught this earlier on. I previously have 14 year old fraternal twin boys. So clearly I’m prone to have twins again and now I am. I don’t know, just felt like they should’ve caught this earlier. But thank you again for sharing, it was reassuring and refreshing. Congrats on you babies!

Do you know how often this happens (hospitalization at 24 weeks) when expecting momo twins?
Tori VanFossen It’s standard practice in the USA to go inpatient between 24-26 weeks for MoMo twins. So, very common.
I’m pregnant with my second set of twins, and just found out they are mcda as well. My first set with dcda.

Just get a planner that charges a flat rate
J H You do! All (most?) event planners charge flat fees. What they don’t tell you is the “preferred vendors” they’re recommending you are also giving the event planner a referral check. This can mean that vendor ends up just charging you extra to compensate for the kickback they give to your planner for recommending them to you. Additionally, this system incentivizes the planner to refer you to expensive vendors b/c then the event planner gets a cut of the high-priced amount being charged. Why would an event planner send you to a 1k florist where they get 5% of the cut, when instead they could send you to a 5k florist and get that 5%- they’re doing smart business at your expense. A planner just plans, you still (usually) have to pay other people to do florals/linens/food/DJ/lightning etc and that’s where you might be better off just searching on your own than taking the “preferred vendor”. I don’t blame the hustle but it’s best to be a smart consumer!

This is so nice!! My hospital gave me a bed topper thank god! And we had to bring in a huge barn fan that blew really cold air because I would sweat bad at night even though my room was set to 67 n that was as cold as it would go
Kristina Drechsler OMG SAME! I was SO hot all the time and 67 was the lowest it’d go too, even with the fan i’d wake up everyday in a sweat 😂 The week I went inpatient they stopped giving patients big nice fans due to “hygiene” and were giving out tiny held handish battery operated ones that died in legit 48hrs- I was like that’s not gonna cut it 😓
Loved this!! I had a similar room when I was inpatient, but I stayed in the antepartum/womens unit. They wheeled me over to labor and delivery for all of my NSTs because my womens unit didn't have NST machines! I walked back to my room each time. 😂 I got my fridge and fan provided by the hospital, which was SO nice. Btw I totally vegged out on purpose LOL
Caitlin Vaughn Hey at least that little walk was a mini work out! By the end, my daily walk to the starbucks was my workout for the day 😂 I was getting so easily winded! Yes I was in the antepartum unit for 2 weeks but they aren’t allowed to monitor for more than two hours at a time and there was a week span the boys kept acting up. I was wheeled up to L&D FOUR flippin times until they finally moved me permanently 🤦♀️ I honestly missed the antepartum floor SO much when I got moved. L&D had beautiful water views and bigger rooms but the environment was just really intense 😖 Congrats on your twins!!!

Congratulations! Morning sickness is the worst. I had 4 children and was sick 24/7 for 9 months with each of them. Horrible.
