Why All Technological Progress Of All Types is Interconnected

I have often said that the amount of technological disruption underway in the world at any given time can be quantified, and the extent of interconnection between different disruptions can be clarified. Here is why. This is a foundational principle of Third Millennium Economics, and enables considerably accurate predictions about technological disruption, economic progress, and more.

My impression was that the fight against nature started with Christianity, a religion of the poor and downtrodden, which ruthlessly stamped out the Northern European pagan traditions - and along with them, destroyed the idea that nature is to be respected. The government hubris/dysfunction we see today feels like a mere extension of what organized religions have been doing for millenia.

    Do you have any concern that Western colonialism in places like Africa is being replaced by Chinese colonialism? That seems to be a pattern, if our U.S. news media can be trusted. China is uniquely positioned to implement large scale solar energy in (for example) Africa and then to siphon off the wealth it creates, possibly leaving the local populace little better off than they are today. How does this fit into your ideas about the solar singularity?

First time I came to that conclusion I became a gold bug (due to the scam that fiat and fractional reserve is), later on I learned about the intentional deflation crashes and hoarding of the metal by malicious actors and realized that is also a bad path for any nation to switch to nowadays, so I decided to, individually, switch to silver. Now, with your wisdom, I've seen that is also a clear bad path to bet against the future of humanity by focusing or investing on commodities. Were it not for the massive expansion of government deficit spending the US would experience recession and asset prices might decline which cannot be allowed. Ever. Deflation of asset prices would threaten the collateral foundation underlying the debt structures that comprise banks' balance sheets and are therefore the basis of money itself. Debt defaults destroy money and the expansionary money system cannot work in reverse. While we all understand the corrosive effects of money debasement, inflation erodes debt without the threat of defaults and is is therefore a feature, not a bug.

    You give the argument of the right more so than the left. It fails to consider the business owner's responsibility is to bring more efficiency to the worker and organization, as well as all other responsibilities of a business whether the owner chooses to do these themselves or have someone else do them. It also fails to consider things like most people become less productive in longer work weeks, even the business owners themselves. It would be nice to hear commentary that's not so heavily influenced in one direction or the other. The political map is no more than an illusion to keep the same ol' same ol' and as a distraction providing easy answers to questions that in reality have answers that are much easier than any they provide. Policy should be focused on creating more self-employment, but you won't get that type of policy from the left and the right isn't pushing it either... If the right has such great answers then they would make their approach from angles such as this to the point that no one needs to be employed and most people can choose self-employment. Instead, they all offer policy that keeps many locked into employment only.

    • @KartikGadaATOM

      It may seem that way to you, but I did present both sides fairly. The business owner might do this with automation, which eliminates the job outright, you know. Yes, policy should create more self-employment, but a belief that a higher 'minimum wage' mandated by law can automatically make people wealthier is incompatible with that.

    In-N-Out was already at $23 in CA, and is at $22 in Denver. Due to the Demographic Drought, that's just the market wage. Recognizing the Demographic Drought was missed in this presentation. Fast food, and more broadly the service sector, just can't find enough employees. In-N-Out is still constantly hiring, even at $23 an hour. A very different viewpoint is that higher min. wages are great for owner-operators as it reduces the cheap-labor leverage large firms use to dominate markets. More owner-operators means more right-wing voters as they are independent and have deal directly with government regulation thereby creating dislike for taxes and red tape. While wage-slaves, who pay little in taxes and are distant from ownership, tend to vote more left-wing. A higher min. wage is better for the political right.

    • @KartikGadaATOM
      @KartikGadaATOM Před 18 dny

      The question is, how many are employed at $23/hr, and what is the revenue per employee? Did the In-N-Outs in CA have twice as many people per establishment in 1993 vs. today? What is the extent of added automation in the elapsed time? A higher wage is good, but how many workers per average outlet?

    • @avernvrey7422
      @avernvrey7422 Před 18 dny

      @@KartikGadaATOM The answer is they still need MORE employed at $23 an hour. It's possible they do have twice as many employees per establishment, those places are often rammed full of customers. Of course, as you should know, tech/capital has a heavy influence on your question. Each employee of today is likely more productive for I-N-O than in 1993. They also don't have the corporate compliance costs required of public firms and have long followed a strategy of paying more money to get better employees, but today, even they can't fill the ranks, even with above min. wage pay. Due to the Demographic Drought.

    • @KartikGadaATOM
      @KartikGadaATOM Před 18 dny

      I don't think demand per average In N Out has increased to the extent that there are more workers AND the higher wage can be supported. • @avernvrey7422
      @avernvrey7422 Před 18 dny

      @@KartikGadaATOM Demand is robust. I-N-O only closed 1 restaurant in 75 years, and that wasn't even due to sales, but crime in Oakland. Every time the higher min. wage in CA is reported on, dying firms, such as Pizza Hut and Long John Silver's, are discussed while thriving firms, already paying near, or above, $20 an hour are ignored. But the bigger issue is the demographic issue. Firms won't be able to get away with paying low wages anymore, as the number in the labor force (including "unskilled") continues to decline. They'll simply have to accept lower margins or do without employees.
