It depends on the lines they said. If u get it wrong, Seign will lose more HP and you will lose more HP than choosing the right command. For example, when Seign says: "Here i come, Nowa!", choose COUNTER will make him lose more HP, and you lose less HP than ATTACK command. The BREAK command only appears when tension gauge is full. However, at the final phase, it depends on luck when you break Seign. You can lose or win, but it doesn't change the story or ending, it only occurs a few different scenes.

It's mostly Rock = Attack, Paper = Counter/ Defend, Scissors = Break system. Your enemies will act based on what they say (give you clues on their next action.) and you respond with the appropriate counter or else take damage.

Cool thing innit? It's one of the few game series that actually connect stuff together. The first three suikoden games actually carried over save datas to unlock special scenes. In S2, it also unlocked the hero from S1. Not to mention, that depending on how you ended S1, certain characters will appear in that part.

Even if you do, if you're underleveled you will still have your ass handed to you anyway. I did everything correctly and still didn't manage to go past the 3rd phase cuz I was level 17 by the time I reached the duel. This dude is level 24 and barely had any health left after he won the duel.

It's dumb, but using Break without a full gauge has a chance for it to fail, so the last part of the duel is pretty much RNG.

@@ShadowStormX7 it must be a really low chance to succeed then because I got the final break point at least 5 times and always failed after the animation.

Stack as much hp up as possible. Try to counter 3 times in wave 4 of the duel. Lastly, the final break still isn't 100% guaranteed to win, but the higher tension increases your odds. In the end, you'll need real-life luck (or ng+).

Fuck this is why I hate this entire sequence. It’s pure RNG, or insane level grinding that makes me not want to play anymore. Just stupid.

@@zacharynyberg7007 I gave up you see he has gear on thats like 3 areas later when you get him but still hes maybe like lvl 20 when you fight him if that lvl 24 or more should be a easy fight but they do fixed damage on his attacks from what it looks like.

I mean, you're supposed to lose the fight. The winning scene is a bonus for ng+. The only bs rng fights I remember are the redthroat ridge gimmick and the proving grounds boss. I'm playing hard with all restrictions, and none of the others bosses have been hard.

@@thechocobros2568 bruh im in NG+ and I did EVERYTHING right as listed and STILL got the lose scene despite thrashing him...

During this battle there is no way to skip the cutscenes but from the previous save point until the start of this battle you can skip all the cutscenes by holding circle (PlayStation)/ B (Xbox)

@@daikyozeus i dont know, on pc theres no save point if you want to restart it, you need to do the battlefield phase again which is a chore..

​​@@MrPhoxyJust like you said there is no save point after the Battlefield, I had to do the battle every time before going to the bridge and after several hours of trying I won the battle on the bridge. The sequence I used to win was: CACACB CCCCCCB ACAVVVCB CCB which respectively are: A = attack C = counter B = break V = is variable because if before choosing the command Nowa says " Nngh... He's tough " is Counter and if Nowa says " I'll never win if I stay on the defensive! " is Attack .

Actually there is a skipscene button not sure about this scene but to skip a scene hold the cancel button

You can assign them as attedents I believe it is called, and they will not participate in battles, but will be there for the story, sadly there is only 3 slots and there are points where you need 5 characters, but 3 is good most of the time

@@darkshot4424 WOW i am dum never even thought about that but with this once you get he bosster item go up to Nowas home town and farm there I was able to get 20 but I had 4 so I bet it will not be to long to do so.

It is scripted for you to lose so no nothing bad happens and as far as I know other then a small bit of dialog there is nothing you get from winning either which to me was a missed opertunity.

21 is possible but 23+ it's easier.

@@eliasfranca7173 I think it depends on the conversation they had cuz I’m level 25 and I did follow the guide base on how to respond attack or counter it took me 6 or 8 tries was it before I beat Seign

@@rocketer5449 What I mean is that I was able to save the game, from the In, before the 1st War, and yeah it's pretty annoying if you weren't able to beat him on your 1st try, cuz you have to repeat it all over and over again War game, and those two soldier battles But if we can do it so DOES YOU
