Why You SHOULDN'T Buy a V8 Vantage in 2021 | What people don't tell you

Considering buying an Aston Martin V8 Vantage? Here's everything that the reviews won't tell you. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is fundamentally a flawed car, not only does it not quite fit comfortably in a market segment, but it has a lot of issues which have caused owners to quickly sell them on in frustration. Doug DeMuro himself said he would never own one without a warranty and when he sold ...

Considering buying yourself a Mercedes SLK55 AMG V8? In this vlog I thought it'd be a good opportunity to cover everything that is wrong with my SLK55 AMG and what you should be aware of when buying one. I still believe the SLK55 is one of the best cars you can buy for under £20,000, however there are a few issues that may make you consider a BMW M3 or an Audi RS5 or TTRS. 00:00 Intro 00:42 The...
BMW M2 Review | Do the seats REALLY cause back pain?
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 3 lety
The BMW M2 is now starting to become available on the used market for under £30k. Within this category there aren't many cars which can rival it, you can consider cars such as the Golf R, F-Type or Porsche Cayman, but none of them all combine rear-wheel drive, 4 seats, insane power and an engaging drive. In this video I went to test drive and compare the BMW M2 to its rivals and also to my own ...

PCP Car Finance is DESTROYING your wealth
zhlédnutí 126KPřed 3 lety
Not sure what those monthly payments offered in PCP agreements really mean? This video explains how you can use finance to your advantage and upgrade your car every year. The key word is 'equity', for every monthly payment you make, you want to get as much of that money back when it comes to selling the car. With PCP, you gain very little equity in the car with each payment and therefore when y...
8 Reasons You Should Buy An SLK55 AMG
zhlédnutí 78KPřed 3 lety
Considering which is the best Mercedes AMG to buy? Here's my 8 reasons why the SLK55 AMG is the best car to buy. The SLK55 AMG is a car which has 360bhp and a 0-62 time of 4.8 seconds, for 2005 this is astonishing speeds. The car has also done the majority of its depreciation which makes a fantastic time to buy them. With the V8 engine going out of production it is going to become a sought afte...
I'm so glad that I've found another white 100hp owner on CZcams! And yes, it's pretty impossible to heel toe in it but its raggability offsets that and the lack of torque. I once did over 120mph on the Autobahn in mine so that 115mph top speed from Fiat is a lie. Love how much you get for your money and it's the people you meet and bring into life because of this car which counts! Great video. I've given you a sub!
120mph is an indicated speed. 115mph is the max permissable speed. True speed will probably be between the two. Proper fast for what it is 👍
You're absolutely right about the people you meet etc. When I look for a car now I deeply consider what it enables me to do with the car over other cars and meeting other people who have made a obscure decision to buy a slightly faster Fiat Panda are the right sort of people 😆
I’ve owned a 2006 Vantage V8 6-speed for 3 years. It has been very reliable. Just oil changes and a few hood and door struts. You missed one of the best selling points which is the beautiful styling of the Vantage that was specially designed using the golden ratio. I upgraded to a Velocity AP x-pipe, 200 cell cats and a stage 2 tune. It woke the car up. It is a blast to drive. MPG and the stereo system mean absolutely nothing to me. The same applied to both my 911’s
I am pathetic. Nearly vomited in a Panda…
For all of those who are upset at this video ... I've bought one. It's currently at Bamford Rose getting a new clutch and video will be coming soon
How's ownership going? Thinking between this or a porsche 981 cayman
Glorious !
I bought the car a year ago and I’m only watching this today lol
It’s not the car for peasants …nor it is a pure sport car, it is a relaxed classy grand tourer 😂
You can now, 170 55 and 171 55 are both around 25-30k now
-Looks amazing inside and outside -Sounds amazing -a freaking Manual Gearbox on a NA V8. What more do you want?
watch this video at 1.5x, great video otherwise
Used cars are very expensive these days, unless you spend alot you are getting a pile of shit
Superb!
Still damn lovely though 👍🍻
Wonder what happened to this car. Especially considering it appears to be off the road 😢
No way?! That's very sad
No, I disliked this video since, not owning the model, I was looking for information on it, but this video spends the first three minutes rehashing what could've been said in 30 seconds.
AMG has lost so much credibility with its EV move
Same for cash transfer from a credit card over 18 moths/two years - small upfront charge and more to pay but it's interest-free and the car is yours.
I'm fully just shitting on every car there as if I can afford any of them HA
I like looking at all the brokies in all their flashy cars while im sat on the bus. I can buy all the cars cash if i wanted.
Wot no cup holders…jeez. Life’s a bitch man!
So in a summary no 4.3 no manual, no crappy automatic basically 4.7 vantage S is the only choice if fuel consumption and maintenance is not an issue?
Seriously? :) If you consider buying an old car you really want to just drive it and give it to the dealer for the repairs? By the way... you really think the authorised service will do better job than a good mechanic and it's trustworthy? :D It looks like you want to have a fancy sports car you'll not put your hand on - I think will be better for you to buy something much younger to avoid an old car issues - and if you want to service it in the authorised service - means you should have a wallet to cover the higher price and not complain. Simply don't buy a luxury brand if you're not rich. On the other hand... You don't need to be rich to own an old, fancy car, if you're into the cars. Fixing stuff by yourself and looking for a spare parts is not only a part of a deal, but also fun! Furthermore, if you don't know good mechanic to handle stuff you're not able to handle - that just speaks for itself. Sad to listen to such posh person's arguments. You cannot be the true car guy - just a gadget boy.
Good one keep it up
thank you so much i was about to pull the trigger on 17k pcp deal you saved me a fortune in the long run i got a bank loan off my phone app at hugely cheaper rate and for only just over a 100 pm more
When last payment arrives ( the ballon payment) you don’t need to have the 15k at hand , you can also finance it , so another cheap monthly term
My 06 280 gets about 16.6-17.2 around town just did a motorway journey and got 30.2mpg which I was pleasantly surprised about and was putting my foot down half and kicking down quite a bit 🤣
I'm thinking about making a really stupid purchase and getting a stupid high mileage one of these for a second car. I have a pretty low mileage CLA 45 AMG for a daily, but have been wanting to grab a beater. There's 2 200k mile SLK 55 AMGs within 300 miles of me, ones real close, too. One of them is a 2 owner with no accidents, and the other one is a one owner car😂 I figure if they're reliable enough that someone would buy and maintain it for 200,000 miles, it's good enough for a fun beater. They have it listed at almost 8,000, but no one's gonna bite at that, I don't think. Hoping it'll sit for a couple more weeks and then I'll offer the Kelly blue book value which is like 4 to 5 grand. The other ones listed at like 9k and maybe worth 6k max, and thats ones definitely a longer trek but still on my radar.
Dude, thats amazing! I plan to buy a Tonerre Grey Alpine with brown interior and do exactly the same, except I wanna keep the awesome throwback diamond pattern in the sides. And since I want to put on black wheels and logos on the outside, I might also paint the seat inserts black... Anyway, thanks for showing me how cool this will look. And for answering the questions in the comments!
Stunning
Uou just do not get a point of this car, it made to feel special driving it, more refined cars will not deliver this, and especially now less cars have a character like this Aston gave, its not perfect and its not made for daily and yes it need some mods, especially suspension and seats in early cars but it’s extremely special to see hear smell drive slow and fast and yes this cars demand skills if you whant to taje it to its limits
And i like that its not made for masses and its cheap for what it is, and real enthusiasts can afford it plus it hell less expensive than porsche or mb to own
Great, thank you, I have a S class which is heavier than yours I still get around 27 miles in the highways not as good in city
The PCP endless financial trap.
Has gearbox oil been changed?
Also, I would never put such a huge deposit down.
Cars are a wealth killer for nearly everyone, especially new ones.
Would you buy a new factory ordered car with cash , PCP or PCH
Wait, you cant sell a pcp car privately? Wow, how are people buying into this crap?
Reliability mostly is based owner's experience for all cars. However, AM has its own charm, but you should never buy a new one because they depreciate like crazy because of maintenance.
Does it destroy it if you keep it with the balloon?
Most cars will last around 10 years so if you buy new, even with a 4 year loan you should then get around 6 years without payments. You can usually sell it for something even after 10 years. The PCP deals seem to be dooming you to big payments every month for the rest of your life.
Question did you notice any plastic in the engine compartment getting very brittle?
Being a once proud owner of a manual 2009 Vantage one of the first 4.7l. I sold the car with 10,000miles on the clock, after having only owned the car for 8 months. The intolerably heavy clutch had become the cause of anxiety of being snarled up in traffic...Im now considering a Lexus LC500 and would welcome any feedback
but you shuld buy 1 in 2024, these cars make great first hack cars just avoid sportshift cars and stay away from anything less than 2008 as 2006-2007 cars the quality of materials where not as good, the dash leather was known to come away and rattle so you want to stick to 2008 plus with manual
I've heard that about the R171, creaks and rattles, compared to the R170, but l would prefer the seats though ...
Appreciate this guy's perspective but he's sort of splitting hairs and making things sound like major differences or drawbacks... but compared to what?? The comments about the clutch are exaggerated and perplexing. The clutch isn't particularly odd or challenging, certainly not to trigger such a visceral reaction. Also odd/incongruent that the video shows mostly footage of 430 hp V8V... which performed about the same as a Carrera of the same era... while saying the Vantage is substantially underpowered. It did 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.... what would be considered sufficiently powered? 4.4? Just begs the question: Underpowered compared to what? Even taking his review on its own terms, the conclusion in the title (don't buy one) doesn't seem to logically follow..... he acknowledges a lot of valid reasons why people love the car, agrees they are really well built, attractive, reasonably obtainable price point... sure they have expensive repairs but no more so than any exotic..... so I conclude you should not buy one.
Thank you, my philosophy is that when I see the owner of an Aston Martin sitting next to his car in a shop giving an honest review is that I will run from that car, You wanna have no issues with tail lights, clutch, door lock, and electrical window modules??? Get yourself a Lexus and enjoy your life
Lexus SC430 - Hardtop convertible. and my 2004 MB SL55 AMG :)
Dude sounds and looks like his clutch and exhaust went on the journey home………….And the seller binned that o2 chip 😂 Getting mine in two weeks ✌🏿
Building equity in cars - the dumbest advice on building wealth I've ever heard.
Bro what are you even talking about?? Many parts are jaguar, ford or Volvo… if you do a little searching for part numbers you can save greatly… if you go to the dealer or some shop sure it can be pricey but all the sensors and many parts are ford or Volvo parts bin
