Reed Davis - Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Uncovers the Root Causes of Health Issues #146
Reed Davis, founder of Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, shares his insights on how functional medicine addresses the true sources of illness by examining what he calls "metabolic chaos."
Davis explains that every symptom has a cause or causal factor, and that nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting optimal health. He emphasizes the importance of tailoring diets to individual nutritional requirements based on factors such as genetics and oxidative rates.
Learn about the hidden stressors and dysfunctions that can contribute to health problems, and how functional diagnostic testing can provide valuable data to guide personalized healing protocols. Davis also discusses the limitations of traditional allopathic medicine in addressing root causes and the need for a more holistic approach.
Key takeaways:
• Every symptom has an underlying cause or causal factor
• Nutrition is the ultimate medicine and must be individualized
• Hidden stressors and dysfunctions can be identified through functional diagnostic testing
• The body has an innate intelligence and desire to heal when properly supported

I am an almost 80-year-old man. I have watched hundreds of health videos. I have pretty much eliminated the ones that talk about plant-based diets. They don't make any evolutionary sense. I'm not a doctor, but I am pretty well self-taught, reading thousands of articles and watching hundreds and hundreds of videos. I believe in the evolution that we are here today because of what our ancestors did over the past tens of thousands of generations. That's what makes sense. Your short talk had more good information than in almost any video. I don't believe that we are vegan, vegetarians, or carnivores. We are omnivores, and probably one of our strengths as omnivores is that we can eat so many things better than others. We prefer meat when available, but it isn't always available. Also, vegetables that are relatively low in carbohydrates contain a lot of vitamins and minerals, and high-end protein and good animal fats are what make sense. I'm almost 80, and that's what works for me. I had colitis that almost killed me. The only thing that saved my life was Dr. Atkins. Things have evolved since then and gotten better, but he had the basics right: getting away from traditional medicine and going on a low-carb, high-protein, high-fat diet. Keep up the good work. It's one of the better videos I've seen; thank you

I am on a 95% carnivore diet. Since being on this diet, my heart problems have decreased, nothing like it was. My red meat is Grass Feed Finish Beef, not just Grass Fed. There is a difference. Try to find a local shop for your meat. It tastes a lot better than frozen.

Great video, thank you very much. I am a very strong advocate of a low-carb and high healthy fat lifestyle or the Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD intermittent fasting. I started my healthy version of Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD when I weighed 235 lbs on 6/2022. I had severe insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, stage 3 kidney disease, hypertension, pre-diabetes, sky high triglyceride levels, HDL in 20s, A1C of 5.7, fasting glucose of 105 and obesity. Now, after two years of Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD, I have reversed all the above conditions, including my hypertension and stage 3 kidney disease. My triglycerides dropped down to 66, my HDL skyrocketed to 68, my A1C is 4.6, fastin glucose down to 74 and fasting insulin of 4.1 I am full of energy, no fatigue or tiredness. I walk 10 miles a day for 5 days a week, and once a week i walk 15 miles, 20 hours into my fasting. I lost or burned all of my own fat from my body. Now, I weigh 137 lbs and my body is always in ketosis. Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD has saved my life. I strongly recommend Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD, ditch The Standard American Diet and the food pyramid. Of course, when I recommend Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD to my friends, family and You Tube family, I always advise them to consult a Ketogenic friendly physician or a certified nutritionist. Again, a great video..thank you

I have a friend who loves meat, doesn’t like veggies, lost weight on meat diet, had a heart attack, although he is lean. Pass the potatoes corn rice and beans, fruits & veggies, whole grains and greens. The fat people with coronary disease as well as other obesity related diseases are meat eaters. You can lose weight for a while on meat diets, but it comes with a price. Food Industry dollars are driving misinformation. Standard American Diet (SAD) or western diet, when adopted by other nations leads to increases in typical western diseases. See The China Study by T. Colin Campbell’s.

I get the sympathetic nervous system struggle. Sure. I sorted out my diet and gor fit, but it took a CATASTROPHIC WAKEUP CALL. I suffered congestive heart failure and end-of-stage renal failure with a side effect of hypertensive retinopathy all in my twenties. I got a kidney transplant and it is still going strong nearly 20 years out. I have to focus on that, but it's difficult. I am legally blind now. My eyes ALWAYS hurt. I am reliant on antirejection infusions every 28 days.
