Great story, but the only problem I find is that you’re tapping other universes and potentially destroying if not warring them when you could jus remake a gravity flux absorber thing to harness the excess energy. It does say trans dimensional though and isn’t clear upon its meaning, for instance, technically that other universe could just be our past or future, time is considered dimensionality. To observe dimensions you NEED awareness. Technically each dimension is another form of time. We are all natural born time travelers as we experience time in various ways with gravity varying in proportion of mass directing time. Transdimensional travel is essentially TIME TRAVEL as we have LEARNT that being in space and going a constant speed higher than that of what we experience on earth keep us younger (if one twin stays on earth and the other does the space travel at constant speed, the one of earth will have aged more than the one in space), so, you’re time skipping, youre fluxing gravity away to push the affects of time and obstruct the age system from being radically different. Am I explaining this right? In my study, time is energy, all is energy, so, another dimension is another form of time, this also means other universes are forms of time. Technically speaking, immortality is a form of awareness, so, emotional awareness at its peak is immortality, so, technically speaking, if we cannot balance our emotions, we are disrupting time and potentially altering whoever is using Transdimensional travel.

The end of that could have been much better. If this had been the whole story, or in fact, is, then the ending shoukd have been Jonah politely thanking them for the time spent, and the opportunity to partner with them for a while, but then to explain that intellectual prowess was only one of the many avenues of interest he wished to pursue in his limited life span, and it was now time to move on to something else. It would be more in keeping with the character being introduced at the beginning of the story, who was undaunted by the appearance of greatness within the tower of intellect, and convinced that the wall between that and normality was only an illusion.

The trip to the first extraction point took them across a rope bridge that was a strategic bottleneck, one at a time crossing. A friend of mine told me about his experiences when he was on missions. Not a lot of specifics. Things like: NO CHEWING GUM - the enemy could smell it. No tobacco - same reason. Digging a 'cat hole' for defecation so you left nothing above ground. Urinating laying down so you didn't make any noise. No splashing sounds. Eating the same food so you smelled the same as the enemy.
