No one likes getting exposed for crappy things be poor horsemanship or anything else.

I've told an abuser they were gaslighting me and he stammered and stuttered in appaulment and couldn't object bc he knew I was right lol. So actually you can. It doesn't mean they'll admit their wrong but it'll just short circuit their brain for a second 😂 that is your moment to make them think for a second bc no one else ever made them think like that before lol no it doesn't work on everyone and some people are silly just nasty but it does work on some people in at the very least shutting them down.

So appropriate for the moment but yes in your case as well. They want no accountability or consequences.

The entire point of competition is to demonstrate the beautiful, wonderful trust and partnership between horse and rider, whatever the discipline, but I think particularly in dressage. And then a rider must ask themselves- do I need the entire world to witness this relationship, or is it enough that my horse and I know what we have? At NO POINT is the competition more important to the horse's welfare. This is heartbreaking. I know I am 3 years late to this discussion, but I only just found this.

For anyone's interest, gaslighting specifically, is done with the intent to deceive, and when it comes to personality disordered types, this is done mainly by psychopaths. Narcissists generally believe their own delusions. They will rewrite history and actually believe the lies they tell.

Could what the horse was saying have been any more obvious? When will these sick, selfish humans stop harming these magnificent horses? They don't deserve these horses. a TRUE RIDER looks out for the well being and happiness of his or her horses. I can't get mine to leave me alone! They beg to be ridden. This horse is begging for it to STOP. And being ignored.

It has never been about the horse or the happiness and well being of the horse. it has always been about the egos of the riders and owners of these abused horses.

I take my hat off to anyone brave enough to call out abuse in any sphere and it's everywhere these days. We have a duty to speak out and share our concerns. We have God on our side. That's a lame horse, for sure. I'm always terrible at telling which leg. I thought the back in the first watch, but in the second watch I'm noticing the front too. The right back is dragging, so that's a good place to start.

I'm really bad at spotting lameness and I know that, but the left hindleg is behind the rest of the legs, its not a smooth rythm, even I can see that something is wrong here..
