7 Fat Cows Farm
Registrace 6. 02. 2019
After our home nearly flooded in Houston TX, we decided to step away from our city life and get back to a more basic / self sufficient lifestyle where we not only could not only provide the high quality food we wanted for ourselves, but for our friends and family as well. Join us on our journey as we farm, ranch, homestead, and work on fun projects around the farm.
Cutting Hay
There isn't much to cut, just trying to bale what we can while we still can. For as wet as it's been around Hempstead, it sure is dry near lake Corpus Christi.

Has the hyway held up? Just got gifted a broken 311 and I suspect its a cylinder problem, would you recommend this cylinder/piston?
@GnarTank I haven't exactly cut down any forests with it, but yes it has served me well through tens of hours since the rebuild. It definitely has more power now and it runs a 26" bar now just fine
@@7fatcowsfarm378 Thank you
@@GnarTank happy to help!
Good for me, this look like the best and fastest process I've seen. Good show.
awesome, thanks for watching!
Well don't what you been smoking but the is raking and baling hay not cutting it put the correct heading on or not post it
Thanks for watching! Good point

Where did you get your kit and how much did it cost?
Where did you get that kit? I looked up that number and it says Hyway with nikasil plated cylinder. That the same thing? Thanks!
That's the right brand
@@7fatcowsfarm378 perfect!! Thank you!!
Excellent video, clear and precise instructions, great job! I have a 311 that i need to rebuild, specs online all say 59cc but all rebuild kits seem to be 49cc, any idea why?
What's the point of a squeeze chute? Just make a chute with an anti-backwards gate.
Check out Temple Grandin's work on working cattle. It keeps them calm, and makes them less likely to be injured during handling.
Thanks to reviewing this. Apologies, I assume I missed it because of some background noise I could:'t hear all that you said. What I missed was the part when you made the case for considering this to be the best handgun safe. I also missed the part when you listed the criteria you were using in your comparison with all the other pistol safes that were on the market back then. It certainly has some nice feature, it may even be somewhat of a trendsetter. I would not consider it in the running for such august praise based on one.of my most essential requirements to any gun safe, security. Though have never hacked one, based in by vids I've seen it is fsir!y easy to open without password or key. Hopefully th maker has addressed these vulnerabilities, and hopefully others have commented on this. Regardless, it bears repeating lest careless shoppers accept your endorsement as an.indicator that this is a high security device. For consideration of .the security side or the pistol safe market, check the yt channel Handgun Safe. Cheers

Ive got the same chute. Except mine is 30 years older....lol. Get a thicker diameter rope for your guillotine gate. That will keep it from popping of the pulleys. Take that plastic cover off the headgate. Ive learned the hardway. Had a smaller cow get hung at her hips one time. Wasnt paying attention...... had the headgate opened to wide and the smaller cow's shoulders cleared but her hips didn't. Its was a mess!!! To say the least.......had to undo the cables above the headgate to get her free. Final tip.......get a can or 2 of some expandable spray foam. The dang wasps/hornets love making nests in the piping built with the chute.
Man these are great! Thank you for sharing! I've hung a cow at the hips too, but it wasn't this chute. Do you use your head gate as an automatic catch? Mine all seem to back up as soon as their head goes through and that opens it up so they can rush through. I've learned someone has to be there to assist it shut
Yep......ive notice with a bigger animal you need someone there to help slam the headgate shut.....smaller calves not so much.
Looks like a good way to get hurt or killed your strucyural support isn't about welds it's about structural design so its not disproportionate meaning moving a slide in hitch to the corner or end of bumper with the same structural integrity as the location you are using now would be by far safer for you or anyone else in the crunch zone then again wtf do I know you at your own peril workable yes safe no😮
Merry Christmas! I appreciate you watching!
Thanks for motivating me
Let us know how it goes!
Leyland tractors are very good. Well worth repairing and keeping it in service.
The biggest piece of advice I can give when rebuilding chainsaws is make sure you oil the bearings on the bottom end and the wrist pin and also use a gasket maker designed for 2 stroke crank cases and is fuel resistant such as “Moto Seal” the reason that’s crucial is over time the fuel as it goes through the bottom end will eat away at the gasket and cause an air leak which will cause the saw to blow up over time. Overall you did and amazing job, hope it’s still running well for you
Great advice! Thank you! I did not use moto seal, but I'll be ordering some shortly
You were lucky no oil dripping behind flywheel..i had the crank seal and sump seal failure. Will be putting on my video for the 245 soon in a couple of weeks..
Oh that's terrible! About 15 years ago a neighbor ran this one out of oil so it's had a "recent" rebuild with respect to the number of hours it's been used.
@@7fatcowsfarm378 any more footage of it..noticed u split it by moving the rear not the front..I may try that next time.
The rear is almost perfectly balanced on the rear axle and the big wheels are easier to grab the lugs and push. The larger diameter provides a better mechanical advantage.
thanks for sharing, you answer a question I had about the engine size replacements vs oem.
I love the cow mooing in the background!
That's great
Mines in a box in a hundred pieces right now.
Better get after it! 😀
Was that a big bore kit ? Alot of them say they will fit a bunch of models but dont list the 311 ? Can the stock cylender be bored that much and i can put a bigger piston in it ? Thank you.
I don't think it's worth over boring a cylinder, but there are larger piston/ cylinder kits available that essentially turn a 311 into a 391. That's what I've done with this saw.
Very nice 👍
Is that plastic
Yes, the safe is plastic
What color is this?
Love the lock box but the suppressor is just ridiculous never will need that for a pistol lmao love it tho
It's handy clearing snakes out of the chicken coop.
Thanks for this! Same thing happened to me. Didn't shake the gas, scored the head and I concluded my saw was toast. I really appreciate the straightforward, no BS presentation.
Hey how’s it going I’m in the middle of tearing down my ms311 and I can’t seem to get the wrist pin out to pull the piston and change it what did you do for yours
Howdy! i fought with the C-ring in the groove for a LONG time. Ultimately i used some O-ring picks and was able to gouge and deform the C ring enough to get it to pop out. I did scratch up the piston doing that, but if you aren't using that piston again that should be alright.
Man last fall I placed Microlife Microgro, Humates Plus and Brown Patch and this spring more Microgro, Humates Plus, Brown Patch along with Hybrid and recently Microlife Multi purpose fertilizer and I haven't seen any changes with my lawn. They say it takes a couple of years to change the soil biology idk.
were you using chemical fertilizers previously?
@@7fatcowsfarm378 No, I had done 2 rounds of Milorganite a year before and same results.
@@arielrodriguez6980 I'm less familiar with how it performs on lawns, but there could be several variables affecting the performance. for example, if the top soil is thin and you have clay or rock underneath it will take a long time to build a thicker layer of topsoil. I will say the first time i used it i noticed healthier grass, but over time it's definitely helped deepen my topsoil layer.
Yikes ....friendly one....
Nice! Is the scale platform just a wide wooden board / or Decking boards?
It's 2x6's I believe. They do flex quite a bit.
I literally LOL'D 🤣🤣🤣
So did it become River's next pet?
Thankfully no!
GOPHER SNAKE I BELIEVE!
Scary
HARMLESSLY ! HOPE YOU DIDN'T KILL IT .
No snakes were harmed!
Very nice 👍
I appreciate the review. It’s nice to know what this case will fit and what won’t. It’s a shame it won’t close with clips in the roof organizer. Seems like a poor design choice or if you have two guns you need to store. Lot of money to spend just to secure one gun.
It's a trade off, right? sacrifice space for being compact. That's why I wanted to explore what it would fit. Thanks for your comment!
Also subs as a home defense tool. 😬
Such a tool. 🔧
Nice - never seen those before but use channel locs often. Thanks for heads up 👍🏼
I'm throwing my channel locks away
Well done. Has as much junk on it like vehs now a days to get to what trying to fix Always great feeling when done and fires right up. Is there a “break in “ procedure now ?
I let it run for 15-20 minutes straight after adjusting the carb so it idles right. During that time I cut a few small logs while keeping the rpm low.
I also mixed the fuel a little rich
Little soapy water helps
Hey that's a good idea, I'll try that next time! Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas to you all Dan, have a great day

Always something ain’t it 🤦🏻♂️. Soon as it feels like all is going great is usually when next fail happens
And somehow we still manage to get it done!
Would love to know how you built That drop gate and the sliding gate
Maybe I'll do a video on those soon!
Why can't they just drink pond water? Why do you want to keep them out of the pond? Seems like a lot of work. (Folks may be curious!) ❤
working on that one still...
always something ......frustrating for sure! Good luck with it.
