Hey man, it’s been a minute since you put this video out there, but I just discovered it when I was looking around for a reasonably priced replacement for my 2080 Super which died recently. I was on the fence about the 4060 Ti, even though it really hit the performance/price sweet spot for my needs. After seeing so many reviews complaining about it, I was surprised by your take. But you covered all the stuff I really needed to know about the card, and this video was a major part of my decision to buy one. I am very happy with the 4060 Ti 16 GB I bought last week! Thank you for an honest take on real world performance of this card. I really appreciate it!

This is why I went with the 7900XTX. This card alone is already and arm and a leg for most people including me. I'm not paying more than that for a failed product. When I found out that the 4090s were experiencing melted connecters, I knew not to buy one. Nvidia is now called nSHITia for selling an embarrassing failed product especially in 2024.

This picture at 2:16 sounds like bs, because it states that 5080 will be 29% faster than 4080, and supposedly 4080 is 20% worse than 4090, which I kind of also doubt It's like they will release 5080 and it will beat 4090, and they have them in excess? I doubt it That would be a bad strategy for NVIDIA. I project 5080 to be in 1300 dollar range, my speculation of course, unless Nvidia has become generous. 5090 will easily hit 1800 dollars to 2000. My speculation, but inflation is affecting the prices even when stuff is coming from overseas. If 5080 beats 4090, it would be a strange moment, considering how fast 4090 actually is. Also if 5080 is faster than 4090, most people will not buy 5090, because of pricing and performance. I am on 4090 now, and I speculate some of these numbers are bull

Pointless to speculate on its release date, NVidia doesn’t listen to customers buying GPUs worth less that $40K each. It comes out when they feel like releasing it, they have no competition in that space from AMD or Intel so no real hurry.

let's talk hypothetically, might 5060 performance target is around 20% faster than 4060ti, or we can say 30% faster than 4060 and then the price at max 350$ it will be really great card (especially if this card has more vram than 8gb) but the worst scenario is might 5060 performance is only 5% faster than 4060, and the performance 5-10% below 4060ti with the higher/same price (just like what happen between 3060/ti and 4060/ti) I don't mind if it will take longer time before the release, it's better than too early releasing

The 5090 is at the very least 6 months away. And when it does come out, you will be competing with every bot and person for it. So realistically, you wont even get a CHANCE to buy it for atleast a year from now. They cherry on top, it'll cost you a kidney.

My son wished for a 50 series RTX for his birthday in december and now that might not be possible, he is really sad, i told him that if they don't release the 50s this year i'll get him a 4080 instead, which put him in a better mood thankfully.

The performance targets are wishful thinking for the bottom half, 5070 will not be faster than 4070tiS in raster given its specs so this must be RT factored in at least. When it comes to 5080, same thing cause 29% raster increase would make it faster than the 4090 which is already banned in China.

I think I'll be good for a long time on gpu's. Got a 3070 , can run any game without issues, 1080p anyways. New games that come out still run fine. So I don't mind.

I wonder if they are going to cut prices leading up to the new release. Are people still buying new GPUs, like they upgrading to. I just hope prices go down by the end of the year or prices for next gen will be high again. The GPU market will just sit on them most likely.

Selling gpu is bad idea with my experience buying multiple gpus in the past depending on how they launch it you either get a link to buy it off the site and when they are sold out you have to wait for months for a paper launch and wait in line at Best Buy for 12+ hours.

And they still will burn like the 4090s lol

Expectations: It's like GTX980Ti for $649 vs GTX1080Ti for $699! Reality: RTX4090 = RTX5080 in performance but 5080 is hard to find, RTX5090 is out of stock with $2499+ price tag.

Yesterday I've bought an RTX 4090 FE for 1535 euros in a very good condition to pair it with my Ryzen 7 5800X3D. (In my scenarios [VR stuff, 4K..] no bottlenecks at all. I'm happy.). I will finally have my peace of mind for the next few years and stop driving myself crazy. :D And... I would have to completely change my system for an RTX 5090, as it would then be a bottleneck. Then I would be even poorer than I am now.

I do really want to urge people to actually think long and hard about upgrading to a 50 series card right away. In most cases I can almost guarantee you that you'd be better off waiting for the 50 series to buy cheaper 40 series cards. A 7800X3D can't fully utilize a 4090 in most cases at 4k even with Ray Tracing, so if a 9800X3D is a 30% improvement, then a 5090 still won't be fully utilized. The 4090 was made overkill, even UE5 games that run like garbage, in a lot of cases it's because of the CPU. The hype around the 50 series make zero sense based on what the flop of the 40 series was.

where I live the 4060 ti 16GB costs $550 so I got a used rx 6800 xt for $320 and it's a 1440p beast and plenty powerful
