i came to this to install that exact reverb plugin🤣
I've used just about every DAW under the sun with the exception of a few. There is no better DAW than Reaper It's stable, it's fast and does everything I need it to do.

I cant see ReEQ on mine?
The easiest way is to install via ReaPack. reapack.com/
What is the song? I got to know, it got a melody that I recognize but can't place it (or maybe is it because the song has stuck in my mind) and it is really good. :)
Thanks! It's called This Old Lie, and I wrote it. In fact, I also recorded the whole process from the song idea through to the mastering phase. You can see it here as soon as I finish it 😁 nolabelnoproducernolimits.com/home-recording-mentorship-program
This is awesome, the best demonstration of mastering with reaper only!
@@FelipeFrancisco-cwb thanks!
How many of these plugins are available "out the box"? I dont think ive ever seen any JS plugins this extensive in my version. I still have 5
@@PhlaymzTV I've had ReaPack installed for so long I don't remember how many are in the box. It's a simple install though. If you want to find out, just open the FX browser and type J'S for a list.
@@NLNPNL yea soon as I get off work I'm digging into all of this.
Didn't hear you say, you need to change the track channel from the default 2 to 4, in the routing dialog.
I'm not sure what you mean. I cover the routing at about 2:10. If you mean something else, let me know :-)
I dragged a track from a CD into Reaper (70's british glam rock), -5.3 RMS, +0.3 peak. I'm scratching my head. Master level is way up into the red, yet it sits at 0.0, mostly. How did they get those levels on vinyl?
@@brianmac8260 in guessing the vinyl was mastered separately, but I'll bet it was also pretty dang hot.
@@NLNPNL The waveform looks so... normal. Big but not flatlined or anything. I'm guessing Console magic and fairy dust.
Great stuff here. It's weird you dont have more views on this.

Glad you liked it.

Thanks!
I had recorded at 16 bit/44.1. Have sense if I try to import and mix with high sample rate and different bit? What would be the best solution in this case?
Personally, I would just go with 44.1 and 16 bit. In the future, I'd recommend you record at 24 bit. It's more important than the sample rate .
@@NLNPNL thank you. When I was recording my own materials I made a "beginner" mistake
@@VincentVegardSvart don't worry about it. It will be fine 😊
Love to see that we can do this technique just with stock plugins in Reaper. Thank you!!
The Reaper plug-in ocean is deep!
You should try the JS Inflator, the recreation of the sonnox inflator. Really good in the mixbus/master track, also great for Mastering
Thanks for the tip! I'll do that.
The work of John Mattews in his Tukan's plugins is awesome, a true leyend! I recently discover Geraint Luff's plugins and they are great too. Specially the "stereo alignment delay" redmind me the "In Phase" waves plugin. This is a script by Geraint Luff. It has two functions. You use it to correct the stereo correlation of a signal via time adjustment, or you can use the send/receive modes to relatively adjust 2 tracks. Hope you make a review of this great tool.
Thanks for the tip! I haven't heard of that one. Maybe I just need to search my FX browser for Geraint.
Great template. I Love the Tukan's plugins and Sonic Anomaly too. Bass Profesor, V.O.L.A. (vocal processor), S.L.A.X. (L.A 2a comp type) and many others, works in JS and vst format.
I'll have to check out SLAX and VOLA. Thanks for the tip!
The entire bundle of Sonic Anomaly is useful, but sadly very underrated.
Ok tomuch video out here about mixing n master...we need videos on the operation b4 that....how many time you record the intro..how many lead should a vers have..is that number the same for chorus..r should there b more ..these r the thing we wanna know
I'm putting together a course for exactly that. nolabelnoproducernolimits.com/home-recording-mentorship-program/
Great overview introduction to some of the free plugins available through Reaper. Tukan Studios plugins by John Matthews have been my go to plugins lately. Highly recommend them and his You Tube videos. Thanks for making me aware of plugins by Geraint Luff.
I have been perplexed by lopsided DI bass guitar waveforms for a few months and YOU saved me! My Track Template has an EQ on the input -- a low cut! Basic stuff that I should have known, but totally overlooked. Subscribed.
I'm a hero! 💪
Thank you for this video, very useful. If I may ask, how did you manage to have your master track setup the way you have? I’m using reaper 7 and it doesn’t show up that way in tcp.
Hi. Right-click somewhere in the track control panel (on the left), select 'Visibility' and then make sure 'Master track in track view' is selected. Then you might need to click and drag on the master track itself, to expand it.
@@NLNPNL Thank you for the reply. I realized that I had to change the default theme to version 6. cheers!

Thanks! :-)
niceeeeeeee
That was actually a good tute! Thanks for posting. I'm now going to subscribe and hit that 🔔
Thanks! Glad to have you aboard.
I've literally tried EVERYTHING in this video and it still hasn't solved my issue. I have crackling audio just from direct monitoring through the interface as soon as I open reaper. I don't use any monitoring tracks in reaper and still have the issue. It's so bad sometimes it will freeze up my session in reaper and have this hideous ring. I've reinstalled drivers, nothing fixed
It could be one of many different things, unfortunately. What block size are you using? Have you tried disabling your network card? How much RAM do you have? If you're on PC I'd run LatencyMon and see if you can find any processes running that don't need to be.
Thank you! Finally figured out how to get a nice sound in headphones tracking vocals - life saver!
Glad to hear it!
So sweet a video. But how do i fill in so there is a professional deep bass sound, so that it is great to listen to?
Do you mean bass guitar or synth bass? Or do you mean bass frequencies of the voice?
Very interesting!!
Glad you think so!
very clear. thanks
My pleasure!

Nice swipe at the Rogan 🤡
@@brianmac8260 Shhh! I'm hoping he won't notice.
Awesome, great less, thanks for the content.
Thanks!
Great video - thanks. I was a complete idiot and uploaded my great sounding/bloody LOUD (peaks at -0.31db; just loud power-pop for 90% of the track) master to the streamers and, lo and behold, it ends up sounding quieter than its peers. I love the mix which was done by a pro but he did a quick master that I though would do the job as I'm not planning on doing any physical media. I knew nothing about LUFS and I've always had a bit of an infantile attitude to techs telling me to turn it down so here I am. I've had a fiddle in Reaper to bring the LUFs-i to -11 but it's just quieter, which I suppose is the point. Still, I feel like the streamers are being a bit tyrannical but, hey, there are much worse tyrants in this world. Thanks again.
Tame dem peaks! Then rule the world.
Nice. I gotta check out SSD5 one of these days. Have you tried ML Drums? They have a pretty good free kit and some awesome expansions. I also like how they handle multichannel routing. Good clean modern drum tones! cheers Kieth
I haven't. I'm quite happy with addictive drums 2, but was impressed with ssd5. I think ad2 sounds more natural, but ssd5 was easier to get closer to natural sounding. I've heard good things about the ML stuff and like the quality of their amp sims, though.
Great stuff as always!
Thanks again!
Can i use this method for tracking drums with EQ and Compression and monitor the processed audio with my headphones while I'm tracking drum,?
No need. You can just eq and compress normally, using the FX button. It won't print the FX to 'tape'. If you want to print the FX, use input FX rather than the usual FX button.
@@NLNPNL thank you❤️❤️🙏🙏
Great videos, man
Thanks!
Great channel, man. I wonder how would you apply all this stuff to create and level presets in a digital guitar modeler like kemper, fractal, helix... using Reaper
Funny, I just read a post by a guy who created some modeling software. Stave Ack, who created Neural Amp Modeler (you should check it out). There's been a lot of talk about how to properly set input levels to amp sims. He said he likes to set it by ear. And then you would set the output to match the level going in. But if it's still too hot coming out, remember -- you can use the channel volume to bring it down. Not that that answers your question in any way 😂
@@NLNPNL LOL
