The explanation of theoretical vs actual is great to know, especially when companies are picking which number "looks best" in the description. However, the restriction points will be the same for each compressor, regardless of CFM. Viair is honest with the CFM coming out of the compressor, so why do you bring in the restrictions past the original 3, especially when Viair compressors typically require an adapter to work with other hoses - adding an additional restriction not faced by other brands. Love Viair products, just don't feel Viair should highlight what is wrong with how competitors "hide data" and then do the same tactic. Compare the CFM output of each compressor before a hose is attached - when Viair is 100% in control of the results.

Why don’t you guys offer a duel 400p compressor for offroad use?

When I was a kid my grandpa told me CFM was Cows. Fat. Meat. And it was how farmers rated how fat a cow was before it was ready to be made into hamburgers. He also said that brown cows made chocolate milk. And that when a hail bail was shrink wrapped in white plastic that those were actually marshmallows. lol.

can i change the pressure switch inside to a lower pressure so that i can mount this to an airtank? i dont want it to shut off at the stock 145psi seting i would like to have it shut off now at around 120psi. is it possible to take apart and replace with lower set switch?

Cool brother. Thx for making it easy. One note is that each compressor comes with 2 different extension coil cables and one has the correct connection and other does not. That was the only part that was tripping me up. Otherwise great video!! Thorough and quick.

This looks great, but I have a question. I do not see why you have to use the inflation gun in the system. Why not use the regulator right off of the compressor? Needing to pull the trigger on the gun outside the RV while opening faucets one by one inside the RV is not really practical for me. Thanks!

Does the kit only work with a Viair air compressor or is the quick disconnect universal to all compressors?

Wish the viair had set it and forget it pressure settings. The main thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on these is the need to hover over the gauge to figure out when to turn it off

It's too bad that my spare "donut" tire's PSI is 60 and the max PSI for this Viair 75P is 50 PSI. At least this would work for maintaining the pressure on my other tires.

so what do you do if you don't have the socket for the lights connection for a trailer... i guess cut the wires and add alligator clips to connect it to the battery

❤ I have 4 of your VIAIR air compressors in my system for my air horns, and the ability to air up a flat tire. ❤ they work absolutely perfect. I have two starter solenoid that I use as activator’s each starter solenoid activates to compressors. I have a 2 1/2 gallon tank. I have a system in the toolbox of my pick up truck that is absolutely well laid out and anybody that sees it falls in love with my air compressor system. I have pumped it up to 250 psi with no leaks. ❤❤

Is the compressor and motor on the 300 different than the ones on 400? They both have 40 Amp fuse.

Hey Viair. Invent this: Auto shut off compressor w digital readout. No situation where I have to hold the trigger all the time. Needs to shut off by itself when it hits the right PSI.

You had me sold at gas station style inflator. I can’t stand those cheapy T shaped connections that don’t work even out the box

It completely baffles me why Viair doesn't make something that has the body type of the 84-88p with 10 amp/120w draw or less. So many cars only have 10amp/120w max example 2007 camry, 2015 rav 4. Almost every one they have would blow the fuse, and not everyone wants to deal with hooking it up off the battery.

I have a F-350 pickup truck and plan on placing the air compressor outside under the truck along the frame rail. Would it be ideal if I run a hose for the filter into the cab to keep clean and dry, also if there is a big temp difference like cold outside and warm inside would this option create moisture in the head of the compressor? I bought the 400P-Automatic, not the RV model because I didn't see that one. Is there any reason the winterization kit won't work with the 400P model as it appears to be the same compressor and gun.

So, I just purchased this VIAIR 400P-RV compressor advertised as an "RV waterline winterization compressor" and I open the box and there is no winterization kit that comes with it and no real-detailed instructions whatsoever? I wonder where this starts making any sense to spend so much money for getting an incomplete kit? ...And about this video...you're just telling the audience that they need to do something, but not really demonstrating anything, if you're going to do a demo, you need to show that it works with the compressor connected to an RV's waterline, not to an imaginary one and telling people how much of a miracle your product is when you're demonstrating really nothing.

I'm thinking about getting the 400rv or the 450rv. I have a 29 foot long travel trailer. I'm addition to the trailer, I would use it for airing up my truck after going off road. I would be airing up from about 15 to 46. As I understand it the 450 has a longer duty cycle, but the 400 might air up faster. What do you recommend?
