Does sound therapy work primarily thru the body (not the ears)? If so, what is the difference between generating the sound thru a floor speaker versus a bowl or tuning fork? Are the sound/vibrations from a crystal or metal bowl somehow different from the sound vibrations coming out of a speaker? Also any thoughts on those $1500 authentic hand-made Tibetan ("healing" or "therapy" grade bowl) that uses 7 different metals.. versus the more affordable machine-made ("Tourist" grade) metal bowls? Crystal / Quartz bowls? I've read that all bowls are in C-key/major (260hz), and the difference is in the pitch (B, A, G, F, E, D, C : 100hz-900hz)? Is it best for someone else to perform the sound-therapy on you, or is it just as effective to do it one self? Do you have any recommendations for a meditation practice/program? I see so many interesting ones, but not sure which could help me. Do you know if any of these are any good? I have experienced severe low back pain after playing the bowls. I have tried to keep bowls close but I still have to lean a bit. This is the problem, leaning. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I keep 2 main bowls on either side of me and I sit on a cushion that keeps my spine straight. It is really important to not over reach for your bowls. Also playing a smaller set. Sometimes people try to play 7 bowls at once and that isn't necessary. The main bowl that I keep as a constant droning bowl is to my side so I don't have to sustain singing other bowls for too long at a time. Hope that helps!

The harp is perfect for medicine songs. I usually learn the song by ear and then translate the chords to the harp. But I Do teach how to play these songs and sing with the harp if you are interested, I teach virtually too. You can reach me by email ☺💕

What keys were you playing?
Key of C major. First notes are C and G bowls.
This was so amazing, Andrea. I am recovering from hip surgery and am having to slow down because of it. But listening to this meditation and recognizing the benefits of slowing down is a very helpful perspective. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely meditation 🙏

Do these sound louder bc you have a microphone? I’m debating on buying metal bowls in addition to my crystal but it’s a huge investment
The Tibetan bowls have a softer sound than the crystal bowls when you are playing without a microphone in person. If you play the Tibetan bowls for example for a large group of more than 20 people in person and in a larger room, the bowls will be harder to hear than crystal bowls. But the Tibetan bowls do record well for video and audio.
So would you add a mic if playing for larger room and also do you recommend Chakra tuned?

What can I do if I only have f#, A#, d#, g#
Those are good notes. If your d# is lower than your A# then that is a 5th interval, great for harmony. Then your d# would be the root note and you can base your melody around that. You build harmony based on the positions of the notes within the octaves. I do offer private classes on this too ☺

What note/chakra is the tan bowl?
That is a G note in the 3rd octave. The notes matched to chakras is something that is a bit of a gimmick for marketing. Although sound can help chakra energy it is not accurate the way they have been matched to a musical note.
How can I learn about this? I’m currently a student at full sail learning audio engineering so I can make my own healing music but never knew you could retrieve sound from living things(even plants wow) like this! You’re amazing
You can design music using the Plant Wave device, you may enjoy that since you make your own music! This device isn't getting the plant sounds from the plant, the device is taking the electric fluctuations to translate into notes. But plants do make actual sounds and they can be recorded with tiny microphones. You can reference Monica Gagliano's research with plants.

There is a tiny color dot on the bottom near the name and the colors correspond to the elements. You can check online which color goes with which element. I wrote a letter on the inside of mine so I could easily see.
