Neville Chamberlain MP was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Ever since 1801 there has never been a state with the name Great Britain nor England.

I really like Brands perspective generally. His thoughts on Lincoln's public speaking are interesting. But how can you talk about reasons for the Civil War and not talk about the cotton trade? That just seems incredibly odd . Brands has forgotten more about these important things than I'll ever know But that just seems like a very pertinent topic .

Its quite clear that the Czech government in exile knew full well that there would be massive reprisals for Heydrich's killing. But they decided it was worth it if it would inspire the population to resist.

"War is cruelty, it cannot be refined" as General Sherman said and this just an example. As far as I know there were no other successful assassinations of German leaders for the rest of the war, so the Allies must have decided it wasn't worth it. The cost was too high.

"He had a pro-Cuba organization" is completely unfounded. I am glad Posner got paid because his "investigative" skills really suck. And anyone willing to check knows that the 'Pro-Cuba' flyers were absurd and he was the ONLY MEMBER. it is no wonder his book was unable to convince anyone of Oswald's guilt.

reminds me of the JFK conspiracy theorist who died and went to Heaven. Upon greeting him God asked if he'd like to ask one ? excitedly he asked who really was behind the JFK assassination. God swiftly replied that it was solely Oswald from the 6th floor with his rifle. Our conspiracy buff retorts, *"As I figured. This thing goes higher up than I thought!"*

I was told that there was every likelihood that Heindrich would have been a natural successor to Hitler. Had he ever had taken over then the war could have lasted much longer. It was generally felt that Hitler was unhinged and his decisions became increasingly erratic Heindrich was cruel, calculating and an even bigger danger.

Posner's Explanations are typical Lawyer Speak. He says "Bullets." What bullets? According to you and Bugliosi, there was only one bullet found. It is easy to trace one bullet to the Carcano. But if you had the others maybe a completely different conclusion. Of course, we know there were more bullets. We even know there were more bullets found at Parkland than what were fired from the Oswald Rifle. The Parade Route wasn't what was changed. It was the location of the luncheon. The Secret Service would not sign off on the Trade Mart because it was not a location they felt confident could be protected. That decision was overruled by Connally and thus the route had to be changed so that the Limo could get on the Freeway after leaving Dealy Plaza. It was important for the Conspiracy that the Limo turn in front of the Book Depository so that the Patsy could be in the best location.

Esonally, I believe this assaination only took place following exhaustive Anglo Czech discussions, it would have been fascinating to have access to the genuine documents etc. So many reasons I suppose. but a primary concern may have been Heydrich increasingly softer approach towards the armanent workers,
