Its a massive shame. Happens to too many pubs now. A pub near me has been here for over 100 years and is being demolished this week. Solid building and pretty. And yet getting kocked down. Such a shame

I travelled back from Par in Cornwall to Bristol some years ago. Boy did this loco move, it went up Wellington Bank at a very impressive speed with no assistance. A real gem!

It's a real nice receiver. The one I have has more modifications of later times but I still like it a lot.

Hiya. I'm shopping around for home fiber broadband right now. Signed up for Sky Broadband and awaiting an engineer visit next week. Dunno if that was a good idea. But I'd like to ask what makes Vodafone different from the likes of BT/EE/Sky/Plusnet? Would you say their broadband is stable and reliable? broadband?

This is great to see. I used to do this walk often when I worked at the Hampshire Clinic in the early 90s. It was always quiet then and hasn't changed. It always looked like a lovely park and green area but nobody uses it.,,

This game was great, the only problem was you still had to say the coordinates. I like the blue board better on this than the talking one because it's like a fleet in dark water.

"I believe there isn't the funds for that" is a very common, and very feeble, excuse. What he means is "No, we're simply not willing to invest in facilities for people using bicycles for transport". If they're building a footpath, making it a little wider to work as a shared-use path would have very limited effect on the total cost of the scheme. The benefits of allowing cycling as well as walking would be more than double the benefits of a walking-only path. So if they're using benefit/cost ratios, one should ask if they can afford NOT to make it suitable for people on bicycles too. The council are in control of their own budgets: they can find funding for the things they want to do, no problem at all. It seems that Conservative councillors think that "cyclists" are a "Bad Thing". Perhaps they even think that cycling is still a left-wing Socialist activity, and not something a right-wing party should encourage. Either way, Conservatives appear to be very keen to build new motor roads at very great cost, and never happy at all to provide cycleways for people to use.

What an ass. How about we make all the roads cycle-walking roads and car-users can get out and push their bloody cars around.

A response typical of our indolent, motor-centric politicians responsible for the terrible problems of noise, obesity, ill health, death and injury which blight our communities because of a failure to provide appropriate infrastructure to encourage cycle use rather than motor vehicle use where appropriate.

I love that bit of local dialect at the end. I have not heard that for a while. It reminded me of a guy who used to sell eggs and potatoes door to door around the married quarters at Bulford back in the 70's. Ho!, and thanks for the video, great shot of Tangmere.

On the subject of Bikeability I'm slightly concerned by what seems like a tendency to cycle in the door zone.

Do you have a cycle computer on your bike, would be interesting to know how many miles you cycle a day, a week, a month & a year. Also cycling speed as well, would be good. At least it was not raining that day. Best wishes to you.
