I am angry and upset that Tinto Brass is not involved with this version. The version of the film I saw in 2015 is the exact film, down to its last frame, that I want to see restored in 4K in 2024. Any variations, any alterations, and it is not the same film--and not for the better. There is a reason Caligula was such a cult smash hit, and that's because Tinto Brass got something right...something right that Thomas Negovan is likely to dispense with because he's not the visionary, he didn't ever get it, and he's got a grudge against Brass after all this time. Negovan had better not trim a single damned thing!
