Not just to nit-pick... I'd like to point out an inconsistency that may be important. It may lead to installers to overtighten the threaded connections. Starting at 1:58, after hand-tightening the threaded connection, the narrator says to "wrench tighten another 1 to 1-1/2 turns". The demonstration shows the installer using the wrenches to tighten only about 2-1/2 hex flats past hand tight. That's less than 1/2 turn. Starting at 2:16, the video demonstrates wrench tightening the other threaded connection. Again, it appears to be a little less than 1/2 turn- no where near 1 to 1-1/2 turns past hand tight. Thank you for making this otherwise helpful video available.

HA! I too came here because I cannot get the valve to release. 100% followed instruction and used the mentioned tool, but the thing will simply not budge. So glad I decided to test it on a spare segment of 1/2 cooper rather than the actual line. (I won't mention their well-known competitor for this "push to connect" line, but they come off properly with the tool every time.)

Yea some of these are faulty right off the shelf. Ive had 2 that would shut off at normal gas flow to a water heater.. i know you have to get the ones rated with the btu within range ive also just had my second one that wont reset.. i was testing by opening the gas valve with it not connected and it clicked stopping gas flow but when unscrewing from the valve equalizing the pressures on both sides of the shutoff ive had 2 now that didnt reset.. even if i back pressured the shutoff it wont reset.. the hell.?! I’m going to have to drillit out in order to give this person hot water until i go back to the warehouse and get them another one.. come on watts.. especially on safety valves.. quality control..

I kept the old nut . Used teflon tape before installation of new valve. Bought this house with the valve off . Was never told by previous owner that it was leaking until we install new dish washer

I didn't have room to get a wrench underneath the new valve. I used a 2.5 inch 'C' clamp and found that worked really well, actually better than an adjustable wrench. It works from below or above.
