Best interpretation of my fave Lovecraft book
I had this on cassette as a kid! I loved every moment of this! I haven't heard it in years, the BBC 4 version is pretty good as well, but this is classic radio drama! better than a movie!
Fantastic, equal to anything from bbc radio 4 [if they still do good plays that is ,as everything else has gone down hill with them ] , , the play was fantastic the severe voices of the actors complementing the severe names of the characters , totally convincing actors ,anyone know when this was made?
Every radio program has to inject romance in, whether it needs it or not. How else can you get the women folk to listen long enough to hear the Lipton soup commercials?
Upcoming Republican America

Sounds like someone took 3rd oath of Fauci 😆
This is amazing! I'm glad I did a search for "Lovecraft radio drama." Impressive production!
They really just skipped over one of the best parts of the book
what?

Does anyone have their excellent version of pickmans model?
excellent
Well... that was better than I thought it would be... i was grossed out... far more literal than the novella but 👍 radio drama is hard to come by
This was done by Atlanta Radio Theater Company. I think part of the intro might have been cut out. This was originally posted on the ARTC podcast, which was taken down a few years ago. Their podcast was recordings of the live shows, rather than the studio recordings that they sell. That's why there's an echo, and you can hear the crowd. I managed to find an archived link to the MP3 files, which are still hosted on the web. It's just that the ARTC website has been redesigned and no longer has any link to the files. Maybe someday I'll find somewhere to upload them, but that could be a copyright mess.
Decent. Doesn't hold a candle to the Dark Adventure Radio Theatre version though.
There isn't one. The download on their website is pretty reasonable though.
Great production. Bravo! Listen to 2 times in a row

This was amazingly done
Fun Fact : this was Lovecraft's favorite among all of his work.
Mine as well! Its excellent
best adaptation ever
Yuh ever hear tell of a shoggoth?!?
Thank you for sharing this and all the other great works you have on here! Thank you 1 million times!!!
This is grrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaat!!
This radio play was my introduction to HPL when I was 14. Thanks so much for posting it! I feel flooded with nostalgia :)
All i can say is..... AWESOME
We really need your Pickman's Model production back up!
I live in MA. 30min north of Boston. And have always lived in NewEngland. Why do these voice actors sound like folks from Maine. Sandford, Maine. Check out 'Down East Dickering' fron History channel. We here outside Boston dont sound like that....do we? Idk. But good play though. I grew up in Chelmsford, MA. Founded 1633. Has second oldest graveyard in New England next to Salem, MA
This is amazingly good.
Another great H.P. Lovecraft tale!
Finally, I found it! To me, it's one of the best radio adaptations of HPL stories. Thanks for the uploading!
This was fantastically well done. The quality of the voice acting in this is in no exaggeration of professional quality. Excellent production this may be one of the best things Lovecraft related on youtube, incredibly well-done mate cheers!
This is my favorite audio version of this , thanks for posting
Oh thank god this one is here, this version is the best I've ever heard, especially the narrator who sounds almost exactly like Donald Sutherland.
I legit thought it was him. Very convincing.
It was Donald Sutherland
It was Sutherland's evil doppelganger
Sonald Dotherland in the flesh!!!
Me too!
Great recording ..and the actor who plays Charlie sounds exactly like Donald Sutherland 👌
Why swear on the introduction? Such a turn-off
look up what Lovecraft's cat's name is
@@Masterchief0521 totally irrelevant
What was the foul language you heard? I must have missed that.
@@eduardo_corrochio I can only assume he means "damned" which is like, the softest of the hard language

Can’t believe the other got taken down, thank you!
Excellent!

Colour, NOT color.
It is spelled differently in different countries. The spelling in English between British, American, Australian (as noted in Guy Montgomerys spelling Bee) etc are different. Color is correct and the original title is also spelled color. Fun fact Australia is even worse on their spelling where certain words that end -er in British and American ends -re in Australian (yes I am actually fun at parties, I promise)
@@krisisk1 I agree with you for the most part about different spellings , but, Lovecraft preferred to use older spellings of words. And Colour is the proper spelling for the whole story.
@@beck769 Your right, I had to look it up to be certain but Lovecraft did spell it "wrong" (in US at that time) on purpose as you say bc he preferred older spelling. Interesting note is that it is registered officially with both spellings but you are right that it was originally ou.
Thanks for sharing this!
Lovecraft is still the best. Enjoyed this adaptation thoroughly.
came to give this a listen to before the movie.

The worst Lovecraft's story, a great radio play though
Don’t you mean the opposite?
You stoopid
Did not care for this adaptation. I was hoping for something that followed the story more closely.
It is faithful 😕
