very good informative video. Do you know if the app works with the difluid r1 refractometer?
Im so sorry I haven't tried the R1 - I will try and ask friends if they have an R1 and if it works with the app.
Where can I get silicon under the grinder?
just go to your local hardware store and ask for a rubber footing. the diameter of the zp6 is 52mm
Roasting will bring out the best in the beans. I hope someday we can be at par with our Asian neighbours in terms of roasting levels.

Really nice set-up, you can also try to use metal filter plus one paper filter, you just need to put the paper filter first before the metal one (aeropress metal filter). and it gives the same result as double paper filter. ^^
@@kennethmolina87 oh really? But the metal filter is going to be harder to clean.
@@darylbuenocoffee well its true, but in my experience, i just need hot water and dishwashing soap to clean it. Also, metal filter can save you in some cases where you are already out of paper filter.

How did you get 174g without the scale? =)
You could also test grinding beans while frozen. There have been studies that suggest you get better extraction by doing this. I have not tried it but something I want to do
I swear you and I are often times on the same brain wavelength. 😂 I recently started freezing beans however I use the Zwilling Fresh & Save vacuum and freezer bags. There is also a mobile app that allows you to scan each bag to keep track of what beans are in the bags and roast date, freezer date, etc. i love the Zwilling setup!
Same here, I use Zwilling Fresh & Save is great but there are other generic brand that do the same thing.
This is helpful for us who have lots of open bean bags and brew different beans very often. I sometimes do this with my uber specialty beans (85+ grading) or cup of excellence beans to extend their freshness.
Beans CAN'T Release Gas while Frozen.
"Important-when you take the coffee out of the freezer, don't open it! You must let your beans completely thaw to room temperature before you open the bag/container. Otherwise, you'll get that rush of air and moisture… and all your hard work will be for nothing."
"there is a downside: coffee beans that were frozen don't have a long shelf-life. Instead of a normal 2-3 week period of peak freshness and flavor, beans that were frozen have only 5-6 days before they start going downhill quickly. That's why it's best to freeze in small batches"
Actually, unless you are freezing the beans at absolute zero they will degas, albeit very slowly.
@@larrywong7834 where did you get this data from? I’ve never heard this before. And I’ve never had this problem either. Maybe it’s because I store my beans in a vacuum canister after thawing.

Hi Daryl, when do you remove the dripper? When it's dripping really slow? When there's no more drip? Or by time?
i remove the dripper when I shake the bed and there is no water anymore, I dont really wait for it to drip completely dry :)
@darylbuenocoffee thanks again Daryl
With the same method, conical top should yield the same result as in both of the pour, you stirred and immersed the coffee bed.

Aeropress used to be my go-to travel set up but now I use the picopresso, as love a good espresso.
I've long wanted a picopresso just for the thought of pulling your own espresso shot in a small package but I dont really drink espresso
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You might even get away without a scale if you just top up the QAir with beans and then the arropress with water. Ratio ends up just ok I think? Also just take a metal filter
@@tucif yes i used to have stickers on my aeropress as markers for where to stop to get a certain amount of water :)
Maybe u can make a video on how to bring coffee bean in a more compact setup rather than all the original packing which takes up a lot of space?

its from the Hario Coffee Scale Mug - its available in kape kalakal
Which color do you prefer ? this one or the crystal one sir ? Some say the taste is different 😂
hahaha! i dont think the taste will differ just from the color of the brewer, but i would very much prefer the black over the white, I fear that the white will turn opaque overtime
How do brew from your Orea Switch This Video compares to the brew from your older video using Tetsu Kasuya method?
This brew is different for the Devil's Recipe. I did a 2-pour method with the Orea Switch, very much like how I would do a simple flat bottom recipe.
@@darylbuenocoffee I meant. I meant how your brew here at video compared by taste to your Tetsu Kasuya brew at past. Sweetness. Clarity notes tasted.. Complexity many notes in brew. Body Fullness. etc. In otherwords would your 89 points Fav bean taste just as good with either brew methods.
@@larrywong7834 Oh, i might need to get more of the beans and experiment once more side by side to compare them fairly.
@@darylbuenocoffeeOh. Not necessary for the side by side. It only mattered if Both were unforgettable brews. Apparently Both by your experience are not Devils.
@@larrywong7834 haha it gets blurred overtime, i brew at least 3 cups a day plus i breew a lot more when im filming specially when i do experiments like this.
Great work 👏🏻
Thank you 🙌
For Orea, I tend to grind finer starting 18-20 vs in V60 starting at 22-25. Or you can try increase the coffee to 15 gms.
We'll I base my grind size depending on the type of coffee I get - not really because of the brewer. From the beans I decide eventually what recipe i would use and adjust parameters to accomodate that.
Interesting lang talaga ng mga flatbed switch kasi sweet sila due to its short contact time pero makukuha mo yun sa soak eh.
Not always the case, If you compare an Origami flat versus an orea flat, you would actually get a brighter cup with the origami than only sweet. Also not always the case when you soak - sometimes if you soak too much as what happens in a Suji Dripper, since it has a very slow draw down therefore inducing soak - you tend to over extract, lose all the qualities of the coffee and fail the whole brew. Also in a V60 - grind finer to induce soak, before you get your sweetness you tend to draw astringency easier and faster than sweetness.
@@darylbuenocoffee well that's very interesting 🤔, maraming mga variables sa plain sight, talagang imposib-leng di ka maka oversight, napaka ganda ng explanation mo master! Na isip mo na bang mag gawa ng video about your own brewing theory? I meant like a very detailed and not specific to only one recipe? Just curious. And interested

OMG. After watching this your video. I yearn for Simplicity to my Life. I'm going Be ReBorn Instant Coffee Aficionado. Well____being honest. Which from its pouring showerhead sprout dripps magic onto my Chemix, Hario Switch. And Basket filter assemblies. The Balmuda is Tad Expensive. Near 800 US Franklins. Being Cheap my Eyes are Open to an UnResistable Deal. Dang and Amazon Prime Days just ended. If there was a Deal there I missed it. The Balmuda is very interesting. In its Dripper the showerhead flows very very sophisticated pouring. Very Strong Thick Brew. One would be unable to Drink That Heavy Goo. But beneath that dripper Balmuda The Brew steams water directly into the double wall carafee. Here the Heavy Goo and steamed water combines. Producing a cup of coffee seemingly UnMatched via Gooseneck Kettle Pour Overs. Apparently every Note, Brightness, Full Body, Clarity, and Complexity is Captured in the Thick Goo.

do the numbers line up on your P2? mine zeros out at #4 and counts backwards as I loosen it.

@@darylbuenocoffee thanks for your help, I love your videos!
It's a funny coincidence. I have been doing the same thing for a while, as Orea has yet to release its official guide for the V4. The only downside of using the V60 paper is the protrusion is long, and you cannot use a shallow carafe or cup as the tip will dip into the coffee. I fold the bottom sometimes and use a negotiator when using the flat bottom accessories. This is a great thing to know lalo at pagnaubusan ka na ng wave filter. :D
