Great job! Bravo!
Absolutely Superb performance, Pete Stirzaker.
Utterly charmed, even by the slightly bilious vibrato endemic to theatre organs
This organ is quite a firey little beast!
Wests are the best..foundation club ..period .
Great footage 🎉
Very well played a fantastic arrangment. Very unusual choice for theatre organ but performed fantastic.
Spectacular a- 👍 tour de force encore🙀‼️This tiger wasn’t just held it was drop kicked & spiked.
Wonderful my friend. See you at Blackwood 5/5/24
My God, what an organist! wow!
That's one busy lad at work there!
I was stage manager for this magnificent concert. An amazing day of superb musicianship on Australia's Biggest Little Wurlitzer. Can't wait until the combined societies in Australia can bring Richard back for another concert tour.
Is this electric organ? Or real Theater organ?
Real theater organ; I believe it's 11 ranks.
Watched it TWICE as I couldn't get enough! 🙂
🙏 mr Hills is more than s p e c t a c u l a r with his rendition of Tiger Rag🙏👍🙏👍🙏👍
Now that was a wonderful performance!!!
Some of the BEST organ playing I have EVER heard and I am 73 years old so I have listened to a few organists.
Follow that!
Great!
A daring project! This music is most difficult and is arranged by Margaret superbly. This is a most impressive 2-manual Wurlitzer, proving again (as George Wright did at the Rialto) that in the hands of a capable artist--the resources are there for making musical history.
I love how David says, "nothing's ever played the same way twice". He is exponential! *edit: "nothing I play is ever the same way twice."
Now that was fun. Truly brought a smile to my face.
I haven’t seen any information as to maker of this organ; Morton, Wurlitzer, something else?
Wurlitzer
I want to get on the bench after her and play this beautiful organ.
A big shoutout for some of my favorite songs by two geniuses, Avakian and Mancini!!!! Cudos!!!👏
Again, absolutely fantastic, Dave at his very best! Everything from Moon River to the Widor Toccata in F, and at what a pace!! How he does this is really beyond me, no music, all from memory and all seamlessly joined together - what genius talent!! I’ve always love the way Dave uses the organ so dynamically, wonderful registrations and color! I think one of Dave’s tremendous features is his professional pedal work, just as good if not better than many classical organist’s….but boy, does the Astoria organ sound so marvellous with Dave playing, as only he can!!!! Thank you for sharing, and thank you Dave for your brillent musicianship!! Adrian in Bermuda❤️💕💕❤️ - PS - as an organ builder, it remains my greatest hope and passion, that one day we will be able to install Bermuda’s first Wurlitzer in one of our theaters or large auditoriums! Please pray for this, if it happens, Dave will be the guy to open it!!! 😀😀🥹🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
Outstanding!!!!!
Thank for sharing David's brilliance. He is deeply missed.
Margaret Hall is great. Certainly a Claudia Hirschfeld of the Theatre Organ :D

wonderful
Wonderful thank you. I think fondly of Maura Lympany
I was present at this occasion, but have just come across this particular video. Most enjoyable! Thanks Tony and John not to forget the video/recordist, Russell, for the wonderful sounds.
Wow!!! What a great performance! It did George proud.
Thank you so much from Australia,
increadable thank you
Even a smaller Wurlitzer has an unmistakable sound. Can't miss it. High-end Wurlitzer electronics had a good sound, too, but there is nothing quite like a pipe organ for visceral presence and dynamic range.
Hervorragend.
Fantastic!
The problem is with the people outside on a couple of trips I’d they came inside followed by a wave soaking everyone in the front half of the top deck. Everyone was just soaked , fortunately I was back far enough.
Wow 🤩 very, very nice 🙏👏👏👏👏
You inspire me each day ❤
I first heard this piece in 1960 in my first year at secondary school. My teacher was head of the music department and she played it for the class. I went out and bought the Moura Lymphany recording and I still have it.
Go Garth and Tony 💖💖💖
Thanks for posting this. I look back on it often. He was a kind hearted man who was always generous with his time and knowledge. Any other clips you have would be welcome. Matt dennett
Would have loved hearing the Dam Busters March, Four hand.
Well done ❤️💞💓🙏😊
