Correction : your explanation about the difference between Interrail and Eurail is wrong. The difference is based on your country of RESIDENCE, not your nationality. So, if you are a US citizen, but you live (legally😊) in Europe, you can buy the Interrail pass. It is cheaper because you cannot travel in all 33 countries - your country of residence is excluded from the pass. In other words, Interrail is for 32 countries, not 33 (except for the first trip to leave your country of RESIDENCE, and the last one to return to your country of RESIDENCE). I hope this helps clear the misunderstandings.

Aww really enjoyed listening to your video, I'm scottish and have visited dublin amd Belfast but you really touched on some local intel i was unaware of. Also felt there were some similarities for us here. Polite things like holding a swinging door open, thanking the bus driver etc. We also use a lot of slang in the West but I've never thought about how to explain it before. Things like using How? Instead of Why? Can confuse tourists. 😂

I’m going to ask you a question or two. My maiden surname was O’Neal. Some of my relatives spelled it 0neal. Then I’ve seen other spellings such as O’Neil or O’Neill. According to what I’ve read online, the 0’ part of the surname means “son of”. Are all of these spellings correct? And can you give me a little history on the O’Neal people in Ireland, please. I wish I had the money and luxury to come visit, see my ancestor's homelands and chill with nature >< I'll likely always be too poor for travel of ANY kind, but mad respect. I spent 3 weeks in Ireland. I planned on staying in a B&B, but was invited to stay in a couple's house. Everything she said is true. If you want to go to Ireland, I recommend that you stay for at least a year. Save enough for your whole vacation and be comfortable. Don't talk about Irish politics, accents, mythologies or cultural variants.

Great explanation Laura. My dad's family are from clifton Connermamra. I lived out west for a couple of years at Dooradoyle near Limerick. The west is the true country I believe Dublin has been destroyed by over tourism. Love your accent btw. Failte Na H'eirann.

Oh... In the U.S, we think of speed limits as more of "guidelines" rather than actual rules. So yeah, I always wear reflective clothing when caught out at night and try to face oncoming traffic whenever possible. I'll be fine in Ireland. All the rules sound like "just be a decent human being" to me...

The word, 'sorry' is used the same way in the USA.

I lived in Europe for 3 years and travelled all over (except Ireland). Being American, I used to always make eye contact and say hello walking by a stranger and would be totally ignored. I learned not to acknowledge or look at strangers when walking past them in the vast majority of European countries because it was considered strange. Its nice to know that the Irish acknowledge strangers.

There's no place like the Emerald Isle. The scenery, the history and the people, absolutely gorgeous! I've been twice and am planning another trip next year. Might have to do a van trip like this. I had an amazing time driving almost all of the island in 2022 when I was there last left Tramore, drove the east coast into Belfast, up and around through the north, then into Malin Head and down. We did cut across though mid way, stayed in Sligo before heading back to Tramore. Amazing time! Love your videos! 💚🤍🧡

I went on a tour of Ireland in 2011 in Nov. It was the BEST trip Ive EVER had and would love to go back! The 12 hr plane ride is the only thing standing in the way lol

Lovely video. My husband and I spent a week driving around southern Ireland. It's so beautiful. I recommend that everyone do this. We made a big loop starting in Dublin and going southwest along the coast to the west coast up the west coast then back across to Dublin. It was one of the most beautiful vacations I've ever had. Everyone was so kind. I can't begin to put into words how stunning the country is and how nice all the people are. So much to see and do.

Just so you know, the reason why AMEX is not accepted in a lot of the EU ( not just Ireland), has to do with their large Interchange fees.

The food was GREAT the towns were clean the transit made American trains look like a third world country and the people were priceless..... kind, funny, and intelligent. And the land more beautiful than any picture taken.
