I bricked my rx 580 with wrong vbios and the pc wont post with the card in, I have already ordered a ch341a programmer to reflash the bios, but i saw your video and i tried it, i shorted the 1-8 pin on my rx 580 and it posted and detect the card as an rx 590 and i run amdvbflash and reflashed it with original bios and now boom it is back in bissness , i guess i wasted that 5 dollar on the ch341a , but im happy that it is working again before my order arrived . thank you soo much I can confirm this works on MSI RX 580 OC ARMOR 8GB

heres some insight for begineers, when you cover the the entire memory module with thermal pads you will most definitely see a big spike in hotspot junction temperature, its not because of the wrong "pressure" on the gpu die, but its the result of extra heat tranferring from memory modules to the gpu die, cause heat tranfers from low to high, when you use high quality thermal pads, the heat dissipation will be so effective that it will ruin your gpu die temps, i have tried 1.5mm and 2.0mm pads and very soft pads, saw the same results across the board, and when i used the pads just as they came from factory to a slight offset and my hotspot temps improved significantly and i was able to overclock my gpu cause the temps were in check. So in short, if you are gaming do not cover the entire memory module, but if you are mining bitcoin, cover the module entirely, for best memory temperatures. That was my exprience with this model of 5700xt, i dont know about other models unfortunately.

For gaming these are quite over clocked or over powered, but have a pretty good core and ram. I reduced clock to 1999 and voltage to 1050 and overclock the ram to 1850 or higher , now the junction doesnt go above 100c

where can I download the turing bios customization utility ? I wish to modify a rtx2080 super from 8gb to 16gb, and if possible, overclock the gddr6 from 1750 to 2000

Quick tip: If you have a dual BIOS GPU (like the Aorus 5700 XT), and you mess up one BIOS and want to recover it without disassembling the GPU, you can start with the working BIOS. Just when it displays video, quickly switch to the faulty BIOS. After that, you just need to follow the instructions in the video to flash the original ROM.

Hi there i was wondering if you can help. I've changed the pads with 2mm gelid extreme and corsair paste for the die. Although gpu temps have come down to 75-78c mostly,the junction temp keeps spiking to 111c and the fans keep ramping up to full whack after 75c at a loss what to do next.

It does bootup to windows but the screen is still black , im using Teamviewer to flash bios but get this error "no display adapter"

Hi, I was hoping that possibly you might have an old Aorus Rx 5700 XT still sitting around that you could send me the bios from? My card is still under warranty but tech support kept lying to me about a download not being on my download page then sent me a link and the download I was talking about was there. I've been arguing with them over this for about 2 years now and always the same thing treat me like I'm stupid and the download doesn't exist. Then the person that sent me the link proving I was correct advised me to install GeForce drivers on my AMD card!!! I have screenshots of all the lies that they told me, it's pretty ridiculous. So I don't even trust them to fix it and I can't afford to buy a new one because I have spinal cord injuries in two different places and can't work and have no income. Since I ran the .bat file on my download page (for F2 bios, changed .bat to .txt to figure that out) and mine takes F1 the fans spin so fast on start up that I'm surprised it doesn't take off like a drone and start delivering packages for Amazon lol so now after only two years the fans are shot, almost everyday it downloads a different version of Adrenaline even with a fresh install of Windows, then downloads what looks like the Gaming OC Aorus Engine and it's unresponsive, nothing works when you click on it and then downloads the wrong RGB 2.0 for the MOBO. So I have to download all the correct programs over again, run DDU ect. Besides lying to me about all of this being an issue they won't send me the correct bios either so I was hoping for a miracle and you'd have them or be able to get the bios. Sorry about the long comment and bothering you with this but the place that should be helping me isn't. Most People I've sent messages to won't respond to me but in case you can help the model number is GV-R57XTAORUS-8GB revision 1.0 there is a bios correction tool that is only on the revision 1.0 page and I think it's wrong and it seems Gigabyte pulled all these cards except the OC Gaming 8 GB which is odd because that is the AORUS engine program it keeps downloading. Every other brand has all 5700 series cards for sale new almost everywhere except Gigabyte but they still have old cards for sale brand new and of course when I drilled tech support about it they wouldn't answer. Sorry to email you like this, I know it's only suppose to be for business inquires but honestly I think I stumbled upon something they didn't want anyone to know about and I think a lot of people probably sent the cards in for an RMA and had to pay to have it fixed because it flashed the wrong bios on my card. I recently bought one of these cards off of Mecari for $175, I researched this version of the card prior to purchasing so I knew what I was getting into. When I got the card the outside of the card was is pretty good condition but the temps go out of control fast and I kept having inconsistent clock speeds. I purchased 2mm thermal pads and opened up the card and was honest shocked how bad it was compared to some of the videos I saw. On the GPU die, there was barely any thermal paste, all of the thermal pads were a third the size they should have been and half of them were not even on the memory chips fully. After cleaning and replacing everything, the card runs a lot cooler and sustains clock speed better, but I think I need to add some fans to get more air to the card. I have a Jonsbo D30 case which has a verticle air flow setup.

I have similar problem with ASROCK Q270. Everything is fine with 10 cards (motherboard supports 13x GPU). When i add anything above 10 PC is working in slow mode and crashing all the time.

Main problem with this: The upper 2 memories need 0.5mm smaller pads (~1.5mm), just take a closer look at the cooler and you will see why... (You can see the gap at 01:50 )

I’ve got two cards that both show up in device manager, however they show with an error. Whenever you click on them and or try to go to GPU Dash Z to pull the information some of the bios Info does not populate it’s just blank. It’ll show is a PNY card or MSI. If I could send you a screenshot I would so you could see what I was talking about.

In device manager was the card showing but with an error? In GPU-Z it only showed some of the bios info?

ok i did this exact thing, bricked my 5600 xt, ive tried this trick with the tweezers and it wonr work, i have a xfx thicc with the dual bios, it had two bios chips, the switch was in the OC position. since theres two bios chips which is which? it will boot in the silent mode

EASIER no HARDWARE fix that worked for me: plugging the brikked bios gpu AND one more gpu (i had a brikked XFX RX 5600XT Thicc III Ultra, and used a spare RX 570), boot into windows using the good gpu as output (you can probably pull this off with iGPU/Integrated Graphics too). Once in windows, open device manager, navigate under Display Adapters, right click the dead bios gpu and 'Disable' it. Once you do that, just open AMDVbFlash (latest version available on techpowerup), and flash your bios backup. Reboot, open device manager and re-enable the dead gpu. This fixed my 5600XT, i hope to have helped someone out there

The only thing I'm wondering about is how consistent the long term revenue will be. It seems as though people are always upgrading their antenna and get great results - but does that last over time? I mean, constantly pinging for 'proof of coverage' can't go on forever. And with HNT dropping down to the $12~$14 range, how long would it take to recover the equipment costs - especially if profits drop over time? Even with my modest setup, I've seen the earnings ramp up after I set it up, but then drop over time. It could explain why everyone is always chasing the 'bigger antenna for more profits' rabbit every so many months. Just my 2 cents, but I'm a newbie at this. lol BTW - great video and thanks for the build sheet!
