A tune called Change for good by Tommy Emmanuel, I know I can’t play it like Tommy and I don’t claim too as a matter of fact I’m not good enough to tune his guitar but I like this tune and this is my interpretation of it. I’d also like to thank my niece Maniah for taking these pictures of me in my home she is a wonderful photographer. Thanks for watching!

great guitar.......great player!
Take my money Epiphone and hire this man! This is the best demo I’ve seen on this instrument.
Fantastic playing these wounderful guitars 😊
Alvarez all the way, Great video thumbs up
I’ll put Alvarez Masterworks, or Eastman E series guitars against ANY of the “legendary” guitars models from the major guitar brands and wouldn’t feel “under gunned” in the slightest. The only guitar that I found that compared to the overall sound quality of my mda70ce, was a new Martin D-45 I had the chance to check out a couple years ago. Even then it could only match the sound of mine…. At almost 10x the cost mind you. I’ve owned several Taylor’s, and they couldn’t touch my masterworks. I’ll never buy another Taylor. The only other guitar that I’d want that a Masterworks or E series, is a Gibson Songwriter, for no other reason than I just want one.
The Alvarez had a high response acutely precise sounding
Terridic video. You let the guitars do the talkin'. Thanks. And BTW, I'm saving thi video to learn some of the licks you played. :)
Excellent player
D-35 seems to provide a bit broader canvas which is irrelevant without the proper artist.
I love mine but it's going in the wood chipper too. Man you can play👌
Absolutely amazing. Great job fellas
Holy cow, Delvin. 😳 Outstanding. Subscribed ✅ from the Georgia coast.
Thank you, you are an excellent guitarist. A very good and informative video. The best I have ever seen on this guitar
Both of you are extremely talented! Great example of the "chip off the ole block"!
This is my new favorite music channel!
Oh man I appreciate that, I’d like to be able to make more videos but I get discouraged with my playing but I appreciate the kind words it means alot
Great playing!!! I'm now a subscribed fan!!!
Great playing man! Stop selling yourself short, I get it, but you’ve got TOO MUCH humility! I’d really like to know the name of that second song, beautiful tune!
To me it seemed the martin is a bit more complex more nuanced sound
Wow, that’s some incredible playing my friend
The last song you played was the Beatles "Here Comes The Sun." Both guitars sounded great but the Martin had a little more bottom end. I think you played the Alvarez better. You seemed more comfortable with it. I don't know if it was a difference in actions or what.
They both play about the same, the reason why I maybe play one better than the other is because I’m not not very consistent due to being a mediocre player but I enjoy guitars nonetheless. Thanks for watching 👍
@@lucascruzguitar I enjoyed your playing.
I really enjoyed this video. I bought a D-35 in April 2023. I love my guitar and the other Martin models are all great. Good video …… thanks.
A friend of mine had a music store in Germany. I had a Martin, I don't know which one exactly, for a price of $3,000 or so. It seemed like a dream to me. I didn't have that money and he had the idea of hearing, listening to 5 different guitars that were in my budget ($500) including as a basic Ono the Martin. Ibanez, Alvarez, Yamaha were within my reach. Finally I bought the Alvarez and in comparison with the Martin .... Uffff sounded so much better to me. That was 1993 and it sounds even better today.
Nice picking Sir! Just subscribed.
Love both but I stay with my d-35 😉. Love Martin guitars ❤️
Delvin, what is your opinion of the Alvarez MD70BG? Do you just prefer the sound of mahogany?
I like the 70 but it seems like all the ones I’ve tried out hasn’t been as good as the 60s
@@lucascruzguitar - Thank you sir. I have an opportunity to buy a mint used 70 for cheaper than any 60 I could get so I thought I'd ask. I am reading though, that these have bridge problems. Has your bridge lifted at all? Sorry for so many questions.
@@ikigai47 haven’t had any issues with that
@@lucascruzguitar Thanks so much
Nice job great review I think you made it sound better than most can!😊
The Martin has a fuller richer sound but with that being said, the sound of the Alvarez is very close to the Martin for a lot lower cost.
Some mighty fine playing on both guitars. I had a hard time deciding which I like best. I have a less expensive Martin MMV I purchased about ten years ago and thought about upgrading to a D-35. As you said if you sit down in a room and played both, you may find a totally different sound that you like. Thank you for a wonderful video.
Thank you for watching
Greetings from Ecuador, thank u for sharing, guitar sounds good enough to justify its buying.
I have an HD28 Adirondack custom and it’s truly the most amazing guitar I’ve ever played and heard. But I have to say this D35 wow. It sounds great. Martin is by far the best guitar out there across the board.
Delvin you have amazing skills!
Man I’m not even in the market to buy either of these guitars I’m just here to listen to your excellent pickin’
Hello. Great playing. How do you find the low frequencies? Doesn't it sound with quite a lot of highs and less lows?
Jesus Christ!!! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤ The Lord has blessed you with incredible Skill. I feel like ELVIS PRESLEY is raised from the Dead - as a Guitar-Player.🙏☝💪 I am serious Man. I am electrified by your Performance. This is another Level and i am considered a Pro-Streetperformer. Play the Guitar too...but Holy Cow: This is way beyond professional playing. Where have you learned all this Skill? Who was your Teacher, Inspiration or Master? I hope you are saying your Prayers. You are a very blessed Man🙏🙏🙏
Thank you buddy, I appreciate that. No teacher, I was self taught.
@@lucascruzguitar That`s wonderful. Are you playing Live, sharing your Gift? If not you should. 👌👍
Wouldn't the Alvarez MD 60 compare more to a Martin D18 since they both have mahogany sides and back? I have been looking for a review on the Alvarez MD 70 because it has rosewood sides and back like the Martin D28.
You look like Ben Aflec playing the guitar
Thanks man! I really like the Alvarez, but I have to say when you play here comes the son with the capo up on the neck, I personally like the clarity of the Martin.
G.day from Tasmania. You are one fine guitarist!
Man I like them both, but sure am not surprised. Great video.
Great Job 👍🏻
💯
Stellar playing on both guitars and I'm pretty sure you could make a gas- can with strings sing. I just bought an older model HD28, but I've had D35's in the past that I really liked. Both have a place and I really could't choose one over the other.
I appreciate the compliment but like I’ve said before I’m really not much of a guitar player, I just fake it pretty good. Thanks for watching 👍
Which one would you choose between this and the Alvarez MD60BG?
If I had to choose between the 2 I own, I would choose the hummingbird. But not all Epiphone hummingbirds sound like mine. If I were to order a guitar sight unseen id pick the Alvarez, cause they seem more consistent and they are excellent guitars. I know that might be more information than you were looking for and I hope I made sense. Thanks for watching and your question 👍
Showed up in my feed again today.....yes sir! It's a good guitar, but you make it sound great!
Are you self taught or did you take lessons?
Self taught and it shows that’s why I’m so limited on my playing, unfortunately I live in a area where there wasn’t anyone playing that style that I could learn from but I wish I would have been schooled then maybe I would have been a much better player
@@lucascruzguitarFrom where I’m sitting I would love to be able to play like that brother. I bought one of these late last year (sunburst). I love it so far, but I just want a Martin and this is holding me over until I can get one
When I recently bought my Martin D28 I bought a gorgeous sounding guitar that will be passed on as a family treasure. I also secured a peace of American history.
And most of the time family ends up selling it for nearly nothing' I'd rather have something that plays and sounds good like the Alvarez and take the difference in cost and spend time and the money with and on family instead of a headstock logo that over charges compared to something that plays and sounds just as good.
Alvarez is very good but the martin really is better but not 1900 better
The two guitars are pretty different. In this particular comparison I prefer the Alvarez MD60BG to the Martin HD28. The Alvarez sounds more dynamic with more clarity. But it could be a very good Alvarez and an average Martin perhaps - so don't know if I'd always prefer the Alvarez or not.
Gibson has always cheapened the Epiphone name since they bought their competitor.
There is a Martin sound that has complimented so many songs from the 60s 70s and more that many pros have gravitated to it. It has helped make the song what it is. The Alverez is close and at the price point would be a good stepping stone to your Martin down the road. Or maybe you'd like A Yari..?
