After seeing the power of Finneas on Hit me hard and soft as a producer I started to dream of the big things he and Lorde could do. I feel like some of these songs asked for greater growth that wasn't given, I don't know if it was due to the decision of whoever produced it or Lorde herself, but I know that Finneas could do it.

I have a theory . Like how we all feel the first half of the project is a bit monotonous or sounds same or in some place a bit dull with sparks of energy , build up here and there- if u think about it depression is like that where u r left with zero energy to even breathe and makes everything monotonous. Also, her stances in the relationships were stretched out , draining her , leaving her with no energy , same old repetition which we feel in the album ig. Like it's not gut wrenching pain rather a lifeless body lying on the bed with zero energy and to just agree and go with the flow. (My pov)

I also love the reference to the Secret Garden book because I was obsessed with that book as a kid and happened to live near a large botanical garden complex at the time where I'd go searching for the entrance to the secret garden haha.
