Generic video essay with a sprinkle of libtard BS.
Fantastic study on this, enlightened many unspoken thoughts I had about these filmmakers
Amooo eleee❤
SEIJUN SUZUKI 🥵
I am an admirer of Ozu's films, Late Spring and Floating Weeds, being my favorites. I have never watched an original Kurosawa film and now it is time to explore his work.
thank you for the insight. need to watch this!
私が思うに二人の違いは黒澤が歌舞伎で小津が能だと思います。I think the difference between the two is that Kurosawa is Kabuki and Ozu is Noh.
This was very good, thank you.
0:30 the shot in the sand dunes, what is it from?
Beautifully and powerfully crafted!! Thank you so much!!
Thank You! For this beautiful docu on these two masters ..
Why don't make you short horror films now ??
VINI ROTATORI DA O NOME , AULAS
Very well made short film brother. All the best to you
Kurosawa sure didnt meet alot of people. I know quite a number of people who are very honest about themselves in a not very positive manner.
I can't think of many stories with themes more universal than Tokyo Story. Parents hopes and dreams for their children. Adult children too busy with their own lives to take time for their elderly parents. It's interesting to categorize these two filmmakers as "feminine" vs "masculine". But it's odd that you think these supposedly masculine stories are more universal than supposedly feminine stories of love, family, community, striving and disappointment. To me it seems quite the opposite. Wherever you live, misunderstandings across the generations exist. Another example, Ozu's "The Only Son" about a mother's sacrifices to give her son a better life and how circumstances (economic depression) destroy their hopes for the future.
It's a minimalist creation. At first, the sound of the subway made the atmosphere of the social world, then the character looked here and there to check out if anyone looking at her or not. Her reaction tells us that there was no one nearby. Then she dropped her bags onto the floor and started playing lava on the floor. Psychologically: Apart from the social life and laws where we pretend to be the perfect grown-up, we have a childish soul inside us. The loads that she dropped after eyeing here and there indicate the burdens of life we carry with us in front of society. And when we are free from those burdens, our childish soul starts living life in his own way. That was my perspective. Thank you
Thank you so much
Why is every Japanese movie ive ever watched a banger
BRABOOOO
It reminds me a sunny April day during Easter feast, some 20 years ago. I've actually kiss her forehead and her hand. Anyway normally everyone kiss the icon/cross and the hand of the departed in an Orthodox Christian funeral office. And people join their hands over the departed body. So peaceful and full of gratitude... Love tears allowed though - but we would guess in the movie that it's about their mother. My sister was also around... next wave is for us at the right time.
The narrator has an irritating voice.
Very interesting! Great short!
There are indeed two names that top Japanese cinema above all. One is Akira and the other is Kurosawa.
Great short!
Well said.
Amazing presentation
Great video! Your take on Rashomon was especially interesting. Thanks for sharing this with us man! Keep up the good work and God bless you :)
Excellent! Thank you.
Excelente análisis. Muchas gracias!
😂😂
Outstanding analysis of a very old debate. Deserves a lot more views.
Someone please explain, this made no sense
Wow I liked this.
Thank u Yuri
Man this is inspiring work. Love this shit.
These two are the Senna and Prost of Japanese cinema
Dimitri it’s Perry where are the goofy videos of us like graduation and overreacting Oliver
←You can meet Akira Kurosawa in 1984
Por favor añade subtítulos en varios idiomas
Nice. My dad works at the University in the Department of Design. What year did you graduate?
Kurosawa was not Japanese because he didn’t control his ego. He reveled in showing off his uniqueness. This was a weakness.
I like this. Thank you for your posting. But there's so much mercy in Rashomon, unmentionable mercies, and judgements too.
That lil girl is my sister yessir💪💪💪
Japanese cinema ftw
Ive found this trough your ozu/kurosawa video essay and i must say this irecting is stellar. I really like the shot cohoiches (mostly the extreme close ups at the start and the fact that you used the dead body as foreground) i also think the sentence of the young girl at the end was really powerfull and emotionally charged. I hope you continue making movies because this rightfully deserved an award.
Thank means so much! Thank you :)
Eu gostei!
This guy made the best cinema video and then dipped lol
Hahaha appreciate it man! It was for a school project. Maybe I'll get back to video essays one day :)
@@dimitrisalomao Oh cool! I'm studying psychology and I believe that there's an upcoming assignment that involves choosing a film and making an essay on it, can't wait!
