I first heard a recording of Missa Criolla more than 35 years ago and fell in love with the greatness and reverence of it. I went searching for the LP record, found it. Now I have a DVD of it's performance with Jose Carreras of course. Missa Criolla is the best religious music purchase I have made. Oh, I am 84 years old and as you note I continue to listen...with awe.

Can anyone tell me what key this is in? I can't find any sheet music for this version anywhere, though i realize this is not the original key. Im not musically savvy but I want to use this song at an audition and this version fits my voice better.

I saw her many years ago at the London Palladium, she came on in a tight fitting black dress and immediately got all the men, she walked to the edge of the stage, said 'These shoes are killing me' took them off and had all the women and then gave the most amazing performance that had the whole audience on its feet cheering!

You gotta love the way in which the Leading Player at the end of this hopeful and uplifting song deliberately PUSHES the crown down over Pippin's face in order to embarrass him and then pretends it was just an accident because the crown is too big...one of the most obvious indications that the Leading Player is not trustworthy.

No mater how ill she was from drugs and unhappy with her life, she was one of the best performers ever to grace screen and stage. This version of the song can only be described as masterful. She was pitch perfect and just a consumate performer.
